This is a compilation of clips that use the darksaber throughout Star Wars . I think I may have missed some in rebels but that show has a whole season about the darksaber so it was hard to find the clips
Something which I find so mesmerising in Star Wars is the movement of lightsabers, but there is something about the way the darksaber moves which is so unique
It's two things. First, the blade shape has defined edges and a defined flat, as opposed to lightsabers which are literally all edge. And secondly, the light is concentrated at the edge, rather than at the center, making the shapes of its movement even more noticeable than a standard saber.
@@gwynmarigold9141yeah it kinda looks like a katana and the others kinda look like fencing swords. And cuz it literally looks like space clashing against other sabers!
If you watch closely in the animated scenes it also has a tracer effect to it, the blade sort of drags on the space behind as it swings a little bit more than the regular ones, also I think the girl saying it was heavier than she expected means it may be slightly heavier than a normal lightsaber would be. if I could master any saber in any style I would probably try more of a realistic kitana sword style with the Darksaber because of its unique shape.
@@Nerdzilla1954 Well yeah, he’s not force sensitive. Even though Maul agreed not to use the force during their duel, Maul still automatically had an unfair advantage. I commend Pre Viszla for doing as well as he did during that duel, especially against someone as dangerous as Maul.
Pre Visla has no honor as a warrior. He uses his jet pack, blasters, flame thrower, and explosives against an unamored opponent with a sword. Sure, he got beaten in the end, but he had no honor. Maul had honor. He could’ve force choked Visla and killed him easily, but he didn’t. That is a true warrior.
That's kinda the point. The flaws and hypocrisy that are the ways of Deathwatch and ancient Mandalorian culture. The fact that Pre was so determined to keep the Darksaber and its status, that he used illegitimate tactics to try and maximize his chances, rather than just face the duel for the challenge itself as a display of strength and skill. So much so that Deathwatch is determined to use whatever tricks they have to get it back. Remember, Rau, (even not being tied to Deathwatch) tries to teach Sabine how to best her enermy using tricks like that, and Kanan puts her in her place, noting that those tricks don't work, and that it's because of their overdependence on those cheap gadgets that could have cost them the war. Sabine learns without them; therefore, Sabine is one of the only to wield the Darksaber honorably. Even Paz Viszla used advantages like shields and cheap shots against Mando in their challenge, and ultimately loses anyway. The recurring theme is that Mandalorians that use tricks like that, will always lose, because it was a slimy tactic mindset that tainted Mandalorians, tainted what the Darksaber represented, and cursed House Vizsla. A curse they brought to themselves JUST because they wanted so badly to win the Darksaber back, by any means necessary.
Its MANDALORIAN duel they have rights to use their eq against opponents. Maul is just outsider he is not mandalorian thats why he couldnt use force, everyone watched this fight. Maul fought there to lead mandalorians he needed an army. Pre vizsla could reject the duel then he could be named as a man without honor. Look at the duel against din and moff. Din used his gadget from brace too. Remember one thing there is no rule which tell that the duel must be done by ligtsaber vs lightsaber. Its duel between man who has darksaber against other mandalorian.
He has some honor. I don't see why you shouldn't use weapons that you trained with and mastered. As well, he accepted Maul's challenge and when he was defeated he accepted his loss.
From the day it was first revealed, to the last episode of the Book of Boba Fett, the Darksaber has become one of the most iconic weapons of Star Wars. Even nicknamed The 'Danksaber'. It's fairly interesting how a simple 'Cool weapon used by the villain to match the hero' has become such a fascinating phenomenon. Thanks for compiling the various scenes it was featured in!

When viszla fought obi wan, he was enraged, making the blade heavier. When he fought maul, he was in control of his emotions, making the darksaber light as a feather during the duel, besides the last second where viszla loses his cool, and loses the darksaber.
If you examine Arthurian mythology it actually bears more resemblance to an unnamed cursed blade in the myth of “Sir Balin” or “The Knight of two swords”. Supposedly it could only be used by the best and most noble knight, but in Balin’s hands ended up causing numerous deaths, and later passed into the hands of other knights (Lancelot for one) and was used in killing quite a few other characters. Just like how the Darksaber supposedly denoted the strongest Mandolorian, but ultimately just became a tool of murder and caused multiple unnecessary battles to claim it.
Wait. Wouldn't Pre Visla be not the sword's owner? Challenged to a duel and got disarmed, forced to order his soldiers to attack the other opponent. I bet it doesn't work like the elder wand from Harry Potter but if other see you fail as a leader you're no longer the leader.
