I personally love the occasional pops and bangs!
My friend has pop tune. I think its cool for a show car or maybe a side car, but for a daily it gets pretty obnoxious. He loves it and that's all that maters. I wouldn't ever do it. I am currently running stock suspension, Borla S-Type Cat-Back Exhaust. I am going to be getting H&R Sport Springs soon. I hear a lot of bad things about the cars struts and shocks wearing down faster, but they only drop 1.3'' and my GTI is only clocked at 28600km. I work from home and only really drive for pleasure at this point so she has plenty of life left in the stock components.
Get the ProdigyWerks 4 piston brake kit on eBay. They are a retrofit for non-PP rotors, so it's pretty easy/cheap to replace. There's also a LOT of great pads avaliable for cheap, and the ones they include are pretty good as well.
Bought them for $500... No idea how much they're asking for them right now. They literally saved my life the same week I had them installed lol.

Currently on Neuspeed Race springs & B8 struts. One of the best cup kits you can put together imo. I'd rate 7-10.
I'll be going with Bilstein B16's when I upgrade though. While I love my current setup and how it tackles the mountains. I want to dial it in even more. Can't do that w/o adjustable coils.

NYC! East coast :) Been watching for a while and just heard you say non performance pack brakes. Is your GTI a nonPP? I'm thinking of going APR DTR6054 but I don't know how tough it is to have a bigger turbo car with an open diff. Love the vids man and the consistent uploads!!
Thanks for support! And Yepp that’s right, I have a non PP and the open diff is definitely noticeable with more power but it just adds to the excitement with some extra torque steer! A proper diff would I’m sure be better for putting the power down though.

Ga. Here currently on stage2 eqt no pops (don't sound good on my exhaust ARM into rev9 sport mufflers) got a sneeky tune on the way want to see if I notice a difference.

Yeah ypu need to upgrade clutch. I have the saschs organic clutch and it's lovely

I wouldn’t say I do them a lot, but I do them every 5k miles

i have a stock mk7 and am wanting to do some mods, but not a whole lot, what would you recommend. im looking for a little more power and better sound and judt overall performance.
Get an intercooler upgrade, aftermarket downpipe, and a stage 2 tune and you will be happy as could be!

Absolutely, pops and bangs are terrible for mpg’s. It does not really effect performance but it can make the car feel more jerky

I run a 265/35r18 tire on a 18x8.5 wheel. Most recently I ran the continental extreme contact DWS06+ and they do great.
The only mod I have so far, with the exception of a K&N drop in filter and removing the snow guard, is a APR Stage 1 ht and tcu tune. What intercooler do you recommend? Ive been looking at the Unitronics intercooler for the price point.
Uni, IE, DO88 are all good direct replacement intercoolers, Forge Motorsports, or Majesty are good front mount/bi-cooler intercoolers.

Put the wagner intercooler direct replacement in my mk8 GTI. I can pull and pull and pull. Same results almost everytime

Yessir! That’s all it takes with a Sneekytune.
What radar detector is that, and would you recommend it?
Uniden r3. For the price it’s great and I would recommend. That being said there are better.

I had someone else mention that as well! I will definitely look into it more for sure cause I know it is not "normal"
+1 for diverter valve. Diaphragm probably has a pin hole leak in it causing that noise under full boost

To be honest I was about lost out there driving lol but I was somewhere off of the Albemarle exit off 485
Do you have a boost leak?
We think it is either the DV or Intake making that noise, likely a torn DV but it holds steady boost to 30 psi no problem.

It's actually coming from my intake I'm pretty sure. I have the latest PCV and have pressure tested for leaks already.
I had the same whistle and it disappeared once I upgraded the diverter valve

Yessir, I run Sneekytuned stage 3 custom map with EQT stage 3 hybrid turbo TCU map and they work together just fine! Since you are flashing to separate computer modules they don't mess with each other at all.

Yepp 265/35 all around. I have to run a 5mm spacer in the rear to avoid rubbing the filler neck on the passenger side
@@HaydenCroix damn! that's a crazy wide wheel. How close are you to rubbing on the front fender/bumper tab when you're at full lock? Going to install Superpro LCA's so I'm trying to figure out if 265s will be a no go for me.
@@manusankar9174 I ran seibon 10mm wide front fenders and bc coils with 18x8.5+35 wheels and did not rub up front at all.

@@ArielJLuna with my tires warm it would hook no problem. I ran 265/35R18 at 24 psi.

@@ArielJLuna You can't go any wider than 265 in the rear without rubbing both the fender and filler neck on the passengers side. But yeah try and let some air out, you will probably be able to hook decent.

But great video. And also pops and bangs at first your like a little kid on Christmas morning. But after a while they get kind of annoying but I have the manual transmission so I just don’t have to go past 4k rpm for pops.

Thanks for the comment! And I have to agree about the pops. As far as the Cobb situation it is not going to effect our platform asides from not being able to disable a few codes resulting in not being able to clear CEL’s but you could still clear them through OBD11.

@@brian9807 Absolutely, you will just need an o2 spacer if you have an aftermarket downpipe so you don’t throw at CEL.
@@HaydenCroix yeah I’ll definetly need that I have a catless downpipe. Also have you done anything with your brakes. Like bigger brakes or anything like a swap from the clubsport gti
