    Another fun Uncle Pete vid. Love the little stop-motion dance at the end. :)

      Glad you enjoyed it! I used to do a lot more stop motion.

    Now that is an experiment worth doing with a bunch of friends to see what everyone has for preferences.

    Whisky sours are eggcellent choice to enjoy bourbon.

    Yeah, in sours, I generally find that as long as it's a solid spirit, you'll enjoy it. It's only when you're using different styles or cask finishes where you might notice a difference, and even then it's usually subtle with all the citrus and sweetness going on

      Totally! And bourbon tastes like bourbon mostly!

    This is why bourbon hunting and collecting baffles me. Does fancy or old bourbon distinguish itself in a way that these don't? Bourbon is just good, they're not too different.

      Oh yeah people are crazy. Some of them don’t even open the bottles. I think it’s mostly marketing and artificial scarcity. Bourbon is good, but mostly very similar.

      Very interesting take. Mostly, those who hunt these scarce Bourbons don't make cocktails with them, they sip them neat. That said, mostly, I make cocktails, so the bourbon, although important, is def indistinguishable in most sippers. WT101 works every time for me!!!

      Sounds great! I keep thinking I might shave it off, but so far inaction has won out. Thanks!!

    Okay, I get it... Most bourbon is pretty similar. I wonder though if there's any truth to the claim that cask strength bourbon is where different bourbons start to express more unique characteristics.
    Unfortunately I don't know anyone with the budget to test a bunch of different cask strength bourbons.

    • @UnclePete
      @UnclePete  Před 2 měsíci +1

      The cask strength ones are more popular and more flavorful, but also harder to drink. Also bourbon is over priced atm. so yeah.

    So you learned that a bourbon sour is delicious, which is a good result! I do like some bitters in mine, though.

    • @UnclePete
      @UnclePete  Před 2 měsíci

      I mean, I knew that already LOL. Bitters are a nice touch I think. Those usually get into mine on the on white foam, but that seemed like a bad idea for this test.
      happy maxfun drive!

    PETE!!! This was def entertaining and informative!!! Since you have a sweet tooth, do you think lowering the lemon would allow more of the Bourbon notes through?? I dunno, just a thought. Great comparo!!! CHEERS!!!

      @UnclePete  Před 2 měsíci

      Oh maybe! I wanted to keep it super standard for this test, but I might try that next time! Cheers Tim!
