No, not a jeep copy. It comes with mm540 jeep tubs that are also used by Roxors. Those mm540s were mahindra's own round fendered jeeps like the cj5 but witj different dimensions. Unlike the mm540, the Thar is built over the mahindra scorpio platform and comes with IFS. Basically it's a SWB scorpio with a jeep body and more rear axle articulation.

13 to 15L per 100km?? This is probably ONLY during offroad use. Mine averages 8L per 100km on a combined run.

Get 2.5 Litre engine Thar (original Indian version) .... It churns out 600+ Nm torque in 1st gear .. and can easily climb very steep roads
