    first electronic drum kit i've seen in 40 years that actually sounds damn close to a real kit. very impressive.
    i've used em all from simmons to pearl to tama and yamaha in the 80's and 90's to ddrum, accupad, roland v drums. none of them ever really felt or played like an acoustic kit. from this video, these drums do play like an acoustic kit. really really impressive.

    Hi! Question: how much noise does this kit make without amplification? Asking since I live in an apartment building with neighbors... does the snare actually have an acoustic sound? Kick and toms? Thanks!!

    • @drumtecTV
      @drumtecTV  Před 4 lety

      Hi, the shells of the drums have no tone / do not resonate, because of the silent mesh heads that are being used on top & bottom. You can get a good impression over here:

    Will this snare be able to trigger “positional sensing” if parred with a Roland td25 module? So I could get all sound nuances from the snare in SSD 3?

    • @drumtecTV
      @drumtecTV  Před 5 lety

      Hi there, the ATV snare doesn´t have a center & a side trigger as drum-tec & roland pads do, so you won´t be able to get the positional sensing to work properly. Have you checked out the 13" drum-tec diabolo Hand Hammered snare yet?

    • @MikeSnyderDrums
      @MikeSnyderDrums Před 6 lety

      You could drill new holes, I guess. Factory configuration has about 11mm or 7/16" clearance from the top of the rim to the top of the side rim.

    I live on the ground floor of an apartment and am concerned about the noise level when playing with headphones (i.e., complaining neighbors). Are there any videos available showing the aDrums being played with headphones, so I can get an idea of the external "noise" level when playing in headphone mode?

    • @drumtecTV
      @drumtecTV  Před 4 lety

      Hey John, if you´re living on ground floor, that is a big advantage! Most problematic for your neighbours won´t be the noise travelling through the air, but the noise going into the ground from bass drum & hihat, so it´s an advantage if there´s no appartment below. Apart from that, one thing that is really lloud is the ATV hihat, if you wanted to cut down on noise I´d rather suggest a Roland VH-10. If you have any further questions or are interested in a custom kit configuration, please don´t hesitate to get in touch through service@drum-tec.de! Kind regards

    I find you are big distraction from working from home at the moment! Could watch and listen to you play all day. Absolute class. I am on the cusp of buying one of these acoustic looking e-kits after a 15 year break from playing (vad506 just doesn't sound as good as this on multiple CZcams videos have seen.) I am 6ft 2" and used to playing full sized acoustic kits. Will the dimensions on the ATV set feel noticeably weird, or is it something that is easy to overcome?

      Hey James, thank you very much! :) you can find even more drumming/music on my personal channel if you like:
      czcams.com/users/digitaldrumming
      You can actually get any compatible custom kit configuration from drum-tec, so you might mix & match pads/cymbals/module to your individual preference. You might try the drum-tec kit finder as a first step:
      www.drum-tec.com/find-my-kit
      Or you might get in touch through experts@drum-tec.de for further assistance. Maybe it's worth checking out the drum-tec Jam NG or diabolo series as well:

      czcams.com/video/F91poUNWJmY/video.html

    • @drumtecTV
      @drumtecTV  Před 2 lety +1

      @@James-ut5hi Oh sorry, I though I did :) no I don't think that the smaller pad sizes of the aDrums or drum-tec Jam NG / diabolo series feel weird at all. All those kits do have a different playing feel though, especially the bass drums compared to the Roland VAD (also resulting in a very different noise level):

      Hay Art, that is hard to tell. VH-11 & VH-13 trigger outstandingly well in my opinion in combination with any Roland module, as well as third party brands like ATV & Pearl Mimic Pro. The ATV hats are so new, we didn´t have enough time for testing in various situations yet to give a final conclusion on this. Kind regards

      @carlossegura1542 Před 6 lety +1

      KillerDrummer88 first of all is 2 inches larger, and in my opinion feels a bit better, it uses an optical sensor which it’s supposed to be even better than the inner sensor of the VH-13, either way both are awesome, but I think the ATV ones have the edge

      Yes, aDrums have 3 piezos mounted near the sides/rims, not in the center. Roland's high end pads have a single center mounted piezo. Roland PDX-6 and PDX-8 pads have side-mounted piezos.
