funny that on the DFDS ship, they used cranes to attach the bridge section. that's how it's done on the construction of real ships, & they were applying their real-world knowledge as a shipbuilding company

The Ford is amazing, there is such a variety of aircraft and there are arrows!!
It's a pity that the shown brick ship models were all waterline.
Actually, what is the most characteristic part of a ship is it's hull, and I mean a full hull.
Each ship's hull is designed and mostly tank tested individually, apart maybe from series ships, but series in shipbuilding are usually small and the opposite of mass production (Liberty Ships exempt).
I can imagine that round bilge hulls are probably not so easy to build from little bricks.
But for me as a model ship builder who builds the hull classically from wood in keel up plank on frame technique, which later is covered with a GRP mat for waterproofness and strength, building the hull is a fun part of model ship building (except maybe for the tedious smoothing and sanding part), and a ship's hull is its soul.
Who'd a thumk it? A. 2 hours video on Lego builds that is worth watching.
Very cool! My grandfather was stationed on the USS Wisconsin and a couple other popular ships from that era. I have tons of documents now that he has passed on. He always loved to watch what my brothers and I created from the LEGO he would buy us for Christmas. I know these builds would have blown him away. So cool to see ppl build ships like these and honor the brave that fought for our nation. 🙏.

Very late comment, but my grandfather was in the navy, he would do the same thing with me and my siblings. He was definitely one of my role models.

I like carriers
Not sure, which is my favourite, but the DFDS ship is certainly the worst. Even if you're going for a simplistic design, you could do better than that... If you put so much effort into scale, why not put a couple of extra hours into a smoother design.
That's what I thought too.
With a model that size one could have avoided such blunt steps in the foreship but rather could have modelled the hull shell's curvature with so smooth steps that the bow would have appeared neatly curved and fairing.
Besides this I find the model's ferry design ugly.
There are much more handsome ferry ships, even those whith periods in DFDS livery.

why does it bother me so much that the guy put chinooks on the first USS Ford? the navy doesnt own chinooks helicopters. it would either be MH-60S/R or if we wanted to be cool he could of put a V-22 because the navy is switching to those and its the new carrier.
and on the second USS Ford the last elevator is on the wrong side. with the ford class of carriers the removed the 4th elevator and now its 3 elevators all on the same side.
You can permanently install it at my house. 😏
