- Pointing dog training with planted birds is what we are doing today! This is first time we have done this with Máquina at the house, and as you will see, it did not go as we had planned. We are doing this in an effort to get her to run and hunt instead of just blindly running. Pointing training with planted birds is something we will continue to do going forward, and that you will see more of!
This series will be different from any other we’ve done for a variety of reasons. What won’t be different is that it will be real, raw and unedited. We share the good, bad and ugly knowing they they all are important in order to make progress with a pointing dog puppy.

Really appreciate this series, so much good comes out of the honest editing and appraisals it helps us all. Our 7-month-old GWP has way too much confidence when we are out doing a bit of hunting, but she hunts with such style and pace, there's no way I'm reining her in just now. We haven't got her pointing yet as we have been working on recall and steadiness. We will be taking her to a "game rich" environment, (basically a shooting estate with lots of birds) that she will get regular and multiple points and flushes. Then lead on, back to the car and home!

Hi Jeremy, I just wanted to thank you for your honest video. I am also training my first pointer. At this point in our training I haven't used a colar either. It feels really intimidating and I find myself second guessing my strategy or lack there of alot. Videos like this are incredibly helpful. Just showing me that it doesn't always go perfect is so encouraging.
