I drive a 2001 279XD truck with a C15, 550 hp. I love it, id drive a Kenworth as i drove a 2000 KW W900L with a detroit. id pick pete over a kenworth any day, but for heavy heavy pull, id use a kenworth with a detroit. you cant even get a new pete with a cat anymore.
peterbilt and kenworth frames are both built by the pacific car company, and either have cat or cummins engines. Mack and Volvo are basically the same trucks, mack was bought out by volvo back in 2008. I believe western star is its own thing but however they too run either cat or cummins engines. International and freighliner are also combined. While cat engines produce good power and are personally my favorite they tend to burn oil.
it deppends on what u doing, hauling gravel and dirt and stuff like that mack, cross country kenworth and for moutain trucking and logging peterbilt because it has the most horsepower

This is just appearance based comparison? Absolutely no factual evidence supporting any brand other than looks. Obviously Peterbilt and Kenworths look better, but Mack's have always been the toughest truck. Kenworth and Peterbilt are workhorses that are nice and pretty, but Mack just makes tough, hard working trucks. I wouldn't own a truck that didn't have that red oval on it, though!

Matthew Kelley Mack has been in a steady quality decline since the 80's when Renault was taking them over. KW, Petes, and Mack have always made tough as nails trucks but Mack has became the worst of the three and as much as I like the old ones, I'd never own one or choose to drive one since they were bought out.

I'm a newbie but I have driven Peterbilt, kenworth, and mack and I have to say my favorite truck is Peterbilt. My favorite truck is my Peterbilt 389. Looks awesome, extremely comfortable compared to other trucks, drives so smooth. Just my list Pete > KW > Mack

Is Peterbilt still building trucks?? After owning and putting over 1.5 million problem free miles on my Kenworths, there is no other truck on the road for me. I guess I'd rather have a sister in a whore house than to have to drive a Peterbilt for a living. LOL
