The excitement of live TV was evident tonight on The Miss Universe stage with over 10 million live fan votes tabulated. Unfortunately, a live telecast means that human error can come into play. We witnessed that tonight when the wrong winner was initially announced. Our sincerest apologies to Miss Universe Colombia, Miss Universe Philippines, their families and fans. We congratulate Miss Universe Philippines as Miss Universe 2015.

+Dana's #1 Fan Miss Colombia new a mistake was made. She should have handed the flowers to the outgoing Miss Universe, then removed the crown herself and put it on Miss Philippines head, taken the sash off her and placed it it over the shoulders of Miss Philippines. Then have the outgoing Miss Universe give the bouquet of flowers. That would've been the coolest think to see, a CLASS ACT, and she would have won the hearts of millions including mine. But, instead of doing that, she just stood there, appearing dumb and showing her disappointment. You can't be disappointed Miss Colombia, because you did not actually win.
The moment you realized she is good in English yet used an interpreter. Advantage.

She speaks english but not fluently. She needed the interpreter because spanish is her first language and she was able to express herself better that way. Specially when you are being taped live in front of millions of people, she would have had a very hard time expressing her opinion and finding the right words in english to answer her question.

Juliana Ropain I'm not hating. I just said what i saw in the video. Tagalog is Philippines first language yet not in the history of the Philippines in a beauty pageant that we used an interpreter. For how many years Colombia is joining and won several crowns, IMHO English should be learned by representatives of your country and in any country as well. Since the major language used in communication internationally is English.

I think that's what Ms. Philippines gave an advantage because she was modest enough to say what her qualities but rather telling everyone what she can actually do if crowned. FIRST: One of the judges posted that it was Miss Philippines who was their unanimous pick as Miss Universe. Period.
SECOND: Replay the Q&A for the top 3 and ask yourself: Who gave th best answer which is non self-centered and specific.
THIRD: Physical beauty is very subjective. Process it.
FOURTH: The cue card showed Miss Philippines as Miss Universe
FIFTH: You noticed that the candidates did not rush to congratulate Miss Colombia? Because they read it on the teleprompter (per Miss Australia's interview) "Philippines, you may now take your first walk as Miss Universe". Acceptance is the key. Things happen. Be a bigger country than boasting on physical beauty. On a side note, if physical beauty is a real and heavy basis for pageants, who has the most crowns this year?

@ on a separate interview with Ms Dominican Republic, she also stated that they were confused when they saw “Philippines take your first walk as Ms Universe” on the teleprompter.
@ they did and a lot of those candidates know that Philippines is the winner, so if you'll notice when Steve Harvey announced Colombia was the winner, they were all confused because they can read what's on the teleprompter. Also, that eerie applause upon announcing the (wrongful) winner and the girls were looking at each other in confusion says it all.
@@elijahsackville-glucksburg Actually if they really showed that on the teleprompter then right after Philippines walked to the side area of the stage she must have noticed that too. But they were all not confused until Steve apologized. For years we all know that the teleprompter text is composed many days before the coronation night, but the result will just be handed out by E&Y team no more than a few minutes before the announcement so I am sure there are no way they show the winner to the teleprompter. Besides, that year stage layout allowed two small groups of audience to have a direct look to the teleprompter so there are no ways what you are saying did happen.

I feel bad for Miss Colombia but the most pitiful woman during that moment was Miss Philippines, she was not able to enjoy her crowning moment. It was solely her time to shine but it turned out to be a really confusing spectacle.

Just by watching this I can tell miss Colombia is an amazing sweet person, she isn't rude or ungrateful, she seems happy just to have gotten that far in the competition, and when Miss PH got the crown she was supportive to her. So Miss Colombia is Amazing!
For the mistake they made (the host made, I don't care), they should have let them both be MU for one year! That would have been fair to both ladies, especially for Miss Colombia who fought for and deserved that crown as well.

She speaks english but not fluently. She needed the interpreter because spanish is her first language and she was able to express herself better that way. Specially when you are being taped live in front of millions of people, she would have had a very hard time expressing her opinion and finding the right words in english to answer her question.

Pia stood out more in both of the Q&A Portions! But being Ms.Universe is not only about your ability to embodied a beauty queen but it also means being able to portray and speak as a leader which Pia certainly did under a great amount of pressure. Remember in the finally rally, there were 7 votes counted! 5 Judges, 1 from the voters worldwide and 1 from the Eliminated Candidates! Pia was leading the Voting worldwide, also in interviews during the week a number of the Candidates spoked about how Pia was the most kindest candidate in the competition. In the end, Pia gave two AMAZING answers during the Q&A, one about her culture and one about why she should be Ms.Universe. If you check Wikipedia!
