Callum's now a proud, out gay man and it's always a joy seeing him embrace that because when you watch this video, it shows how far he's come. It's hard to watch Ben struggling at the moment but they're a unit now, who have proved they're stronger together and Callum's faith in them is strong enough to move mountains. So they'll be okay. Ballum are a powerhouse and it's down to the crew at EE as well as Max and Tony who bring them to life. Thank you for this little compilation video!

@@nicoletaminculescu3283 No, these 2 "characters" (Ben and Callum) are not together anymore, unfortunately. 😕 EE bosses/producers broke them up recently, just like they do with most other couples in the show. Doesn't look like they'll get back together anytime soon either. 😕😕Ben was very messed up (plus he got raped😞) and felt he was no longer good enough for Callum. **Sigh!** 😕😕

I'm only hoping they can at least keep them on friendly talking terms sometimes.

I NEVER get tired of watching these scenes. Some of my favourite Ballum moments. Love how their relationship grew organically over time. I don't think they got married too quickly. This is the only gay relationship on TV that I have ever been invested in. Such great performances from Max & Tony. Can't praise them highly enough.
Agree! They are the heart of EE for me. But lately, there"s just too much trauma and not enough enjoyment in their relationship.

The scene in this episode where Callum pins Ben up against the wall in his rage, and then Ben realises what's happening and pretends to have an orgasm, is one of the finest and most electric gay scenes in any Soap. But for some reason, the script writers and directors started to run out of ideas and we've descended into ridiculous and complete unsatisfying story lines for a year or more, I think. We don't need all this recent trauma, as you put it. There is plenty of scope to develop their loving relationship because these two are about as attractive a couple as you could get ... just the normal ups and downs of life and relationships would be great, but they've turned Callum into a weak and corrupt cop and Ben into a maniac/ psychopath. Such a pity ... I started skipping through the last 12 months or so because the story lines just made me dissatisfied ... not worth the emotional trauma for us, the viewers. Cheers!
Diector kept shouting cut cut but they kept going ripping each others clothes of and doing naughty things - eventually the camera man had to throw a bucket of water over them

The scene in this episode where Callum pins Ben up against the wall in a rage ... and then Ben sees the desire in Callum's face and realises what's happening and pretends to have an orgasm ... is one of the finest and most electric gay scenes I've ever seen in any Soap. Pity the script writers and directors have completely lost their way over the last 6-12 months with some ridiculous and unsatisfying story lines ... the development of the relationship in these early days was so exciting ... but not recently. Let’s hope the writers responsible for the Ballum storyline get their mojo back. Now that the two have reconciled (albeit in a rushed & unsatisfying way) let’s hope the writers can get Ballum back on track.
@@nesa2000 Agree with you, David ... in seems to me that the Ben-Callum love story has been relegated to an 'also ran / bit piece' to the Lola tumour story. The magic of the early days has been lost and I reckon the actors playing Ben & Callum seem a bit lost too because it's not clear where the relationship is going? As you say, "let’s hope the writers can get Ballum back on track". Cheers

One of the best LQBTQ+ couples on screen. Both Max and Tony’s acting are amazing. They have that perfect chemistry and aura. You can fall in love with this couple (Callum&Ben) easily. Glad to get to know that this couple exists.
If anyone from the crews is here reading this comment, please, I’d to see them grow old together facing any problems coming their way in many more years to come.
I enjoy seeing a gay couple so well portrayed .... though recently there's been a surfeit of drama/trauma. Enough, already!
@@nesa2000 I totally agree with you. Now the suffering and grief they are facing should stop or at least not go beyond this point any further. It begins to be too unbearable for me. I've just discovered this couples. It's a shame that I lost years of rooting and cheering for them, but on the bright side is that if I started to watch couple of months earlier, I would be devastated seeing both of them slowly struggling and suffocating in these past months.
And I really do hope I get to see them get old together. We still lack that kind of portraying on screens these days. I think it's a story they should try to invest in. (and of course, it has to be Max and Tony if they agree to do so.)

Like you, I’d love to see the writers invest in Callum and Ben as a healthy couple facing life’s challenges together. We need to see gay relationships ‘normalized’ (but not sanitized).
@@nesa2000 Exactly! We need that this kind of the story is super normal. I mean people can still enjoy and have awesome moments of LGBT+ couples on screen, but not from the excitement of feeling it is so surreal that they have never seen it before, and just from how beautiful and normal as it is.

From where I live rn, this kind of representation is still very uncommon. Here, they start to have like cute flirting boyfriends relationships going on and off and then be in the relationship again and that’s it. And still, it’s far from how gays or LGBT+ characters ‘actually’ live their lives at the moment. Lots of sterotyping and huge misunderstanding that make the show/scene unbearable to me. Plus the story is not going forward from there, not much of living together nor getting married and afterward. I’m so jealous that you guys have EE and other shows that portray this more and more recently.

@@irregularz8517 Well said. I’m a partnered (20 years) gay man who came out late in life. I really enjoy Ballum because both Callum and Ben seem real to me. Though these last months the storyline has gone off the rails with an inordinate focus on Ben’s traumas and dysfunction, I still see great potential for developing them as a ‘normal’ married couple dealing with the same issues that hetero couples face. Enough of the tragedy: let them repair their relationship and move on like other couples do.

It's the LGBTQ community that needs more representation beyond just Ben & Callum, they need to introduce a new gay couple and 1 or 2 lesbian characters since they axed Tina, Mila and Iqra.

This was when they had some spark, EE shouldn't have got them married so quickly anyway but definitely shouldn't have got them married in a pandemic with filming restrictions! The wedding was awful just Vi and extras, none of the Mitchell faaamily you should have gather for an occasion. Hate that Ben and Stuart just randomly started tolerating each other as well after an actual hate crime.

The friend is giving reasonable advice at the end. If Callum is bisexual, then his bisexuality is irrelevant. He can marry his girlfriend if that's who he result wants to be with. The idea that he's "secretly just gay" is such a regressive trope. More people are bisexual than gay. Yet these storylines are just constant bi erasure.

They had a great chemistry at first but their relationship had started to slowly fizzle out over the time especially since the show returned in Autumn 2020, also most of their kisses are blatantly forced and are more like pecks rather than a passionate kisses.
