Taken me back being 12 then... and I totally agree with my fellow commenters. This was the first song that catched me at this time on the album "Harvest" that I lended later from a colleague worker while doing my first and second steps on guitar at age 16. And who didn't play at this time at least "Heart of Gold" or some other of Neils treasures and later on too...

When I was learning to play guitar I literally wore this record out playing it over and over again as I learned the songs. I cover a lot of Neil's songs when I perform these days. Learned harmonica just to play Heart of Gold. Neil Young has heavily influenced me.

I had this cd , bought it for Heart Of Gold & Old Man & quickly got to liking the whole album..
I was that Saturday night back in 1971, (sat immediately behind Roger Chapman of Family). We also got the first public version of "The Bridge".

It was funny to hear Neil refer to "Old Man" as "a new song" on his '71 BBC special.
Out on the Weekend debuted on the BBC special. Crazy to think songs like these were brand new to the audience.
