I'm dealing with a similar issue with my 2000 328i. I took out the battery to replace it and closed the trunk without putting the new battery in (I thought I could jump the car again to open the hatch, stupid move). My keyhole to the trunk has always been jammed so it doesn't work. I took out a rear speaker to reach in for the release but couldn't find it and I called a local BMW service center and they said there isn't a release in the trunk? Super weird so now I'm stuck with an unlocked BMW sitting on the street.

I have a bmw e46 2000 3 series. It has no emergency latch to open the boot.

What about the key hole in the boot?

So once you have opened the trunk how do you open the rest of the car? My rear seats do not fold down. I can manually open the trunk with my keys however the doors are not opening electronically or manually.

You can then, through the center compartment hole in the back seat, open the back door, and then the rest of the doors

@@kyrkur if it's an E46 BMW there should be a "middle seat" in the back seat that folds down to expose the "hole". It's also covered by some boot carpet...
