3800's were on sale last week at Harbor Freight alone with the 1800. This week the 4800's are on sale. I usually grab one each time I see them on sale.
Yes it is possible. If you have more cases than you have radios then you have too many. But. If you purchase more radios, antennas, and what not to fill those cases, then everything will be in balance. As it should be.
Really like the case for the handhelds...I've got the exact case your using here that is not being used until now👍
I love these Apache cases. Use them for my radios, pew-pews, and any other stuff I need to protect in transit. 100% recommend.
Great video Jason I got a harbor freight about a mile away I'll have to check them out, be convenient for my ht's while traveling, tnx.
A lot of Northern Tools here in Minnesota!! Harbor Freight are building out here too...
There is a NT on IH45 NB between Beltway 8 and FM 1960 on the N side of Houston. NB Service Road.
Another on the I45 Gulf SB Survive Road at W Beltford.
These Two are on I45 to/from Galveston.
Thanks again. I've been thinking about getting hard cases for a while now. I've got several HT's and a 705, a G-90 and an Elad. About to get a 710 and I've been using soft cases but I know I need to be more protective of my investments. You've given me some great ideas. Thanks again 73, KN4MXZ
We have a Northern Tool here in Nashville!
nice group of cases
Messi and Paoloni has the Fastest shipping. I've ordered directly from Italy several times because the places in the U.S. don't stock Messi and Paoloni 90 degree coax connectors and some sizes of cable
2 days max to ship from Italy to South Central Louisiana. that's quicker than the U.S. sellers I've purchased cable from
That's great
Northern tool is very regional. mostly in the mid section of the country from Minnosota straight down and over to Virginia, Carolinas and down to Florida. Nothing northeast or west except two stores in New Mexico. I still buy from them online when the shipping makes sense. Some of those cases look almost identical to HF, but in general with other merchandise, I think Northern carries more stuff, and slightly better quality stuff than HF.
It is sad that I just got the notice for this video.
They are good cases, but no longer on sale.
The micro HFT box is good for the MFJ ant analyzers
I like bags and boxes too.
We have both here harbor freight and northern tool
Cases are not on sale here in Nashville
Just checked and there are no Northern Tool within 100 miles of my north of Philly QTH. 😥 But I have two Harbor Freights within 10 miles of me! I use the Apache 4800 for my 7300 and most accessories but would like to get the next size or two down for the power supply/battery and paddles.
And if you're worried about having too many. Remember if the floods come, you can lash them together and float downstream on them!
I assume you didn't reply to my post.
you just need to know what inside 🙄 before you head out. Apache is just as good as others. I use them for radios, imaging fish finders among other things. One Apache has wheels and a pull out handle that fits perfectly in the carry-on baggage size tester at the airport. The radio, the tuner and the two Bioenno batteries fit inside.
NT is a Minnesota based company
I've got more cases and audio cabinets for go boxes than I have a base station.
There’s a guy at HamCation usually set up near the RV area that has mountains of huge cases like these. My friend buys them for lighting and production equipment sometimes he has small ones that sell very fast. Jason could buy a case for all his cases.
Yes, those are actual pelican cases. I bought one a couple years ago and that's what I have my FTD X10 in today
I have several of the cases from Harbor Freight. I also use them for test equipment that are way overpriced 🤣
I see you suffer from the common problem of your Pick and Pluck foam falling apart.
The solution Plasti Dip Spray. Lots of videos out there on the process. I've used it myself both for gun cases and for radio cases.
A single $6 can can usually do 2 cases
Maybe it would make a good follow up video here, so that it can be seen by the Ham community.

I'll look that up, thanks
I prefer the pelican cases. The foam was better quality for me.
16" are $49.99 on line, bummer. No brick and mortar near me, they're in the Southeast and Midwest.
HFT seem to rotate the sale every week to a different size box.
Next year, we'll see the video on where to get your Conex container to store your boxes. :)
I have a Nanuk 940 and don’t know where to start making it work for Ham Radio. Do you have a video about that Jason?
No
The stickers on the Apache cases are a bear to remove.
I love those cases... Cant have enough.... within reason ;P
Indeed
I've often wondered if these cases would be good for flying with firearms because they are lockable.
Yes they are fine as long as it locks tight enough that they can't reach inside while it is locked. Most airlines you still have to put it inside of a suitcase. Every airline is different so double check their websites. Occasionally you will get an employee that doesn't know the rules. Ask for a supervisor. I fly with firearms frequently, mostly Southwest, with no issues.
@@WG5Xradio thanks. I have a box I use now that fits two handguns. Southwest has been good about it. One counter employee really didn't know what to do, they were new. Good thing a supervisor was nearby to show them.
Northern to normally sells better quality stuff then harbor frieght. But good deals. Box is is box get what you can get for the best deals.
I like Northern Tools quality better than Harbor Freight. My N.T. Generator is stronger and makes NO unwanted RF noise in my radios. ( Yes, both are inverters ). N.T. hand tools are tougher too ( for the most part ).
Should start labling the boxes so you know what you have lol.
Jason, these cases are made by one company (the OEM) & they just put Harbor Freight and Northern's name on them or whoever wants to sell them. If you cannot see that you need to get your eyes checked. the prices are the same too.
But they're not exactly the same
@@HamRadio2 I was told by the guys (they are friends of mine)
at Harbor fright that the company that makes them does it for about 10 different places.
They do not look like on sale in TUL OK
wow i dont even have 1 case lol
I prefer Pelican, so long as I'm not paying.
You are all set in "case" there is an emergency.
Indeed!
If you're storing human body parts in them, yes, I suppose you can have too many.
I think someone created a Telegram account using your name.
Nope. It's not possible. 😁
Are all the replies that say to message you on telegram a scam? It looked legit, but I'm pretty sure it is a scam.
It is not possible to have too many cases or backpacks or satchels!! To suggest otherwise is blasphemy…
Agreed
You tweaking bro
