I think if you don't have the ability on they're less accurate than base.
Also makes cannon shells reflect off of shields.

Incursus was low key mad when the flack took out his 20mm's
Personally I love 20’s they are really effective at wearing down an enemy. Especially when you fire them one at a time at a specific spot it allows much much more penetration. The best combo I have found is firing two twenties one behind the other and then firing a cannon right after that.
Soften them with a barrage of blows before going for the knock out punch. I like it.

That first match was epic he flaxed out both of your cannons before you can even fire them so you take his entire base on the first volley :-)

the 20mm is basically just, everybody gangster till it hits its shots
I usually use all that empty space you have on the front facing wall to have a vertical row of machine gunners with metal doors to screen missiles/mortars etc. Cheap to invest in mid-late game when you're generally set resource wise and stops so many issues
How I see it, the 20mm Cannon is a punish weapon. Enemy has a couple doors open at once? Use your 20mm. Selling off something and you see a weak spot? Hit it with your 20mm. Enemy getting a little too bold with their heavy weapons? Keep them from shooting for a while, your 20mm can do that.

Maybe try out these gun with the Fire-commander. I had great experiences with it, because you set many fires in consequence of the wide spread.

(Game 1) It looks like you always leave a weak point in your armor just top right of the core between the metal bar and the sandbags. Iirc you were sniped there a few times in the past by a cannon.

The SCATTERshot commander gives you less scattering effect and more accuracy, yeah deems about right
they are cheaper than two lasers, but need more space, doors open longer and you need that ability.
its fun tho.
About same as 1 fire and 1 plasma laser, which uses similar concept. Concentrate fire to collapse enemy.

This has been in my recommended for like a week WHY
the 20m I think is designed to strip armor for the enemy fort so you can deal a criticial dmg to the fort with an other weapon
You can build very fast and much if you instantly build your mine, then go 3 big rooms up so you can get 3 Cannons/20mm/Missiles over your rractor. Then put your windmills above that (you can even use shields). Its really powerful and works perfect. Your teammate builds the same and use shields too.
Played that way nearly 100 times and me and my friend managed to get a 91% winrate. Even in ranked its a easy strategy and works well

That's a lotta damage!
So, 20s kill metal in four shots, and they fire 9. I'm pretty certain a cannon kills about 1.2 metal in a single shot, hence 2 cannons over penetrating and killing what's behind a double door. So a single 20, if my maths is correct, is 2.1 times as damaging as a cannon. And it only takes a commander ability to make that damage actually good. Unless you chain fire multiple 20s, then you just clear away all the metal on the front of a base.

Though I do find it funny how finally now, people are going to go “20MM is so good I love it” when I’ve been like that ever since I got forts. So.. welcome to my level! We have always had lots of 20MM cannons. Because the queen of cannons loves her usually unconventional weaponry.

You should do a new review of this strategy now that the commander update changed how Scattershot affects 20mm's
