  • I usually do the mega road trips across Finland in my EV's, which takes days. Except when I have the family with me, then we use the brilliant car sleeper trains which snake their way Finland during the night with the car parked on the rear carriage and we have our own 2 berth sleeping cabin further up the train.

What a great way to travel a 1000km. I wish the Uk had a train like this .

Brilliant video. If we had that much snow it would shut our country down.

Nice video! Although I was distracted trying to figure out if you're a slightly-Finnish-sounding Brit, or a very British-sounding-Finn haha! 🤣

Did you block the air intake and/or isolate the motor/electronics pack? I think venting the motor and electronics is probably a big disadvantage in -20 to -30 degrees since the heatpump use that heat as source. It would be interesting to see a test on that. Thank you for the interesting videos! I never tested the car train but maybe some day, it looks relaxing.

I am thinking of blocking the lower grille area, but the radar is there so I'll have to get creative. On every fossil car up here you block the grille, a lot of manufacturers actually sell genuine covers for the grille. It certainly helps to keep -50°C windchill off the radiators and out of the "engine bay".

Interesting about the app. That Finland ain't got it. I live in Sweden and travel often to Finland. Works fine when I am there though hehe. So it is kia Finland that do not want to include it? Do you know the story?

At 95% youre seeing 295km. What would another 5% get you to? Is that normal range for your winter driving?

There’s a channel devoted to the world of superyachts named ‘Esysman’ . The guy who runs the channel, sounds like you (Wirralesque) and even looks a bit like an older version. You’re not related are you?

Interesting, I'll give that a watch Chris. I love boating too! Thanks for calling me Wirralesque, makes me sound posh. I'm from Runcorn, so only 15 mins up the road and you are in Wirral.

Yes, it is possible to travel with a dog. You have to book a pet cabine or you have to book a place in the dog area...
