Everything related to signs is the best part of this update. Hanging signs! Double-sided signs! Editable signs! But also waxable so you don’t edit accidentally! Incredible stuff
and not just so YOU don't edit accidentally: so other players on a server cannot (easily/immediately) change them. it's truly such a lovely quality of life change, i cant wait for it

Love the signs, but I think they should make it where we can add an item frame it to make it display items. (Mainly for shops!)

I'm still disappointed that the sniffer only can find two plants. When it was presented i thought we would get more. Like 1.17 had 6 new plants so I thought the sniffer would at least have 4 plants (with the cherry tree and the petals it would've been 6 too).
Perhaps we'll get more in 1.20.1
1.20.23 and still no plants.
The great thing about the sniffer is that it's open to have more plants added to it in the future. There is absolutely nothing about the design that says it only has to have those two plants. If Mojang has a plant idea that dose not fit any current biome or dimension they can just give it to the sniffer.

@@EmperorPenguin1217 With these mobs the designs are difficult to iterate on or they are so new it's not even a question why they don't add anything new yet, and it's not like they do this with all mobs. Almost every update now bees keep getting an upgrade, wandering traders get new trades now, and horses have been given a buff just recently. I think we are forgetting what mojang does do, too distracted by what they haven't done yet. Think of the sniffer being closer to a wandering trader where the trader's items are somewhat separate from the trader himself so they have always added new trades when there is opportunity. Ofc, This will not be something that they do every update but the fact is the sniffer's design allows the dev team those options.
Armour trimming is probably the best thing that happened in this update
Except for the Netherite upgrades. They look so much like a mod 😐

Unrelated but maybe the portal in the deep dark takes us back in time (another dimension) where the sniffer once called home. The sniffer seems really unique and looks like it would belong to another dimension…
Going to the past probably isn't the best idea because it would make alot of lore evidence that would be definite.

That would invalidate the mechanics of the sniffer which are all about finding an ancient egg and hatching it.

I legit think wattles is being paid to explain these updates with such enthusiasm. I cant even think of explaining the same bullshit Mojang adds every update . WE NEED STUFF THAT ACTUALLY ADDS TO THE DAY-TO-DAY GAMEPLAY!!!

All I feel was missing was suspicious dirt (still) and the other sniffer plant the vine one. Other then those 1.20 looks pretty good

@@GamingBren that or they were an intentional plant in order to weed out the person they suspected to be badgerman, and never intended to be part of the final release.

The one feature nobody seems to really mention in videos is the modding potential. This update has the most modding potential since 1.16! 1.17-1.19 were just Caves and Cliffs parts 1, 2, and 3 and 1.20 is its own update!
Technically archeology was a caves n cliffs feature so its a part 4

@@quimicasg I have mentioned in other shorts and posts that the cherry Grove as well, surprises like that while they iron out other gameplay mechanics are a little nice.
@@HistiSubs yepp agreed but ideally cherry grove was a long requested old feature. So but totally agreed they're doing great since this update. Last time we lost the fireflies and the ambience. Pathetic.
I just now realized that both new mobs lay down in the same legs-out way… Other than foxes I think they are the only other mobs with a laying down animation. I guess cats sleep with you but do they lay down?
they lay down on beds independently too but god i really want to see a mob animation/behaviour overhaul - the design of the newer mobs are so good and full of life and it really makes it glaringly clear how lacklustre the old mobs feel in comparison

The armor trim is cool but I would like to see how this netherite change is gonna affect obtaining netherite armor😮
With out the plate you will not get that armor unless you make it the same way as you do with diamond armor and as hard as it is to find that would be a waste.
@@dragonwing1982 true but if you can flex like imagine leather armor with every single netherite template that would be a waste yes but it would also be a big flex that with also a netherite beacon

i mean you can have it when you make a new world press experimental and turn it on i would add elytra trimming
@@rudrodeepchatterjeeyes because we need more inventory space with all the new blocks and items they’re adding. your inventory fills up after exploring for like 15 mins if you’re finding villages and stuff like that

Cherry blossom leaves look great and are going to make a wonderful impact on my builds, bamboo stuffs look great, netherite changes… I guess time will tell if I like it (ambivalent currently).
Getting a Piglin head… I’m not sure how much I like the idea of going through a portal that I just sent a charged Creeper through. I’m thinking that sending a name tagged Creeper through one portal, then making my way to the Nether through a different portal, then play the kite game (carefully). It’ll be fun.

I always come to your videos to see what's new with Minecraft although I haven't played it in many years now.
This update needed more hopefully next update is better and to do with something that we’ve needed an update for which is the end or any other biomes it would also be cool to get a new dimension

I love the new update except one thing: Having to find that template for crafting our netherite gear is simply not ok since it’s only a 3,2 % we find them.
The armor trim is the thing that saves this update from complete failure

I honestly feel like 1.20’s archeology is extremely underwhelming. When it was first shown off in 2020, the sherds were colored and you had to cook the clay pots to harden them. Now you just craft them with no customization, with pots that lack color, making them look lifeless. This lack of color limits these pots being pretty much useless as there is now only one color scheme for the pots to be used in for builds.
i mean it is the first version with them they might change them in the future you never know

The only thing I'm REALLY not looking forward to is having to hunt down Piglin bastions just for the soul purpose of being able to make netherite tools and armor. That's just insanity at that point

sniffers + allays are gonna be SUCH a good combo for a passive ancient plant farm, i cant w a i t
Problem is that Sniffers can only sniff a block once and there's no reason to even use the allays because of minecart hoppers

2) Allays require less setup to work
@@LineOfThy No they don't, the hopper minecart is way easier to find and it's more efficient.
With the allay you need to set up note blocks and contain the thing so it doesn't fly away
Hoppers do everything the allay can but better

I feel like the desert missed out this year they should of updated the desert adding more biomes to the desert like a dune desert which slightly darker sand and what would of been cool is Quicksand coming to the game

Man this feels like a mod. I've been coming abck to minecraft after not plsying for a few months and I knew nothing about the update so it just really felt like I was playing on modded when I saw the cherry and mangrove biomes.

I like that you said the update is about exploring. I've recently been thinking of not using an Elytra, sure it's great, but it takes away a lot of the survival aspect of the game. So maybe I'll have to come up with some limitations-of-use or something to make it more fun.
Problem is new terrain has just far too much random verticality. I just stopped playing until my friends found the end cause I was having such a bad time trying to do anything.
They desperately need to make minecarts better and some sorta grapplehook/throwable rope.
