Further did ARU students get chance to meet Cambridge uni unis and exchange knowledge? It would be great if you could share your insights on same

      Hey. There is a student union, they organise events, society, other meetings like: outdoor cinema, sports societies, talents shows etc.
      Secondly, our uni is mixing sometimes with Cambridge students, but rarely. We have some events that are together, but as I said, it's a rare occasion, unfortunately. There are more talks outside the University you can attend at Cambridge university, sometimes you have to pay for them, sometimes is free.

    Hi, I have Autism and mental health problems and I chose ARU because it was apparently the best for health and well being. However I’ve been hearing horror stories about mean tutors and students not having enough support. Do you have any experience in the support services?

    • @dominikakalinowska
      @dominikakalinowska  Před rokem

      Hey, these stories you hear everywhere, and each student will have a different experience. I did hear a few of them before I joined. Still, because for me it was essential to gain experience on top of education and live in Cambridge, the education bit was not as important. Hence, it is all about your priorities.
      I had enough support on my psychology course, but each module is run by different tutors and you can't put everyone into one basket.
      In all organisations, some people are more passionate about what they are doing, and sometimes you find people who want to be paid and be done with the session. It is life and this will happen, we are just humans :)

    • @dominikakalinowska
      @dominikakalinowska  Před rokem +1

      Regards to mental health support, that is correct. I was myself looking for help when studying, and they can do it in a few ways, so it all depends on individual cases. There are also external organisations that help, and plenty of phone numbers you can call for free like Samaritans or the Mind charity. From what I know there are some local ones but you would have to do research to find them or ask at the university :)

    Hi Dominika, Thank you for the video. You gave us a lot of information about the school. So, a couple of days ago I applied ARU for MA Human Resources Management and now i'm in the waiting process. Actually, I'm already a little stressed because of my bad English. I am gonna take the ielts academic but what i fear most is the presentations. I've heard that UK universities have a lot of presentations instead of exams in their master's programmes. I have a question for you.I realized that English is not your mother tongue either. So how did you deal with such situations? Was your English as good in the beginning as it is today? Could you give me some tips to being ready about this tpye of situations. Thanks a lot...

    • @dominikakalinowska
      @dominikakalinowska  Před rokem +2

      Hi, first of all, take a deep breath. Your English is perfect, you are better than you think you are!
      English language skills will come to you when you practice, learn, read and speak at loud. They come when you have fun.
      I did struggle at the beginning but I can guarantee you you will smash it after a few months of practice and living in English speaking country.
      That is true, we had a few presentations, but they are usually easier to prepare and you know what to expect. I would choose a presentation over an exam any time :D
      You will do great! Just take it easy. There are so many international students, equally stressed about their English skills. You are all in the same boat x

      It is all about your priorities, what is important TO YOU. What YOU want to do in the future, and how determined you are to create a life you want.
      Reviews are just opinions of someone's perspective and experiences, and as we know, the same apple can be sweet for one, and sour for the other person.

So, you will be better off contacting someone who is actually working after graduating from this course, for example, an Alumni, or even a current student ambassador (these people should be featured on the university website you are applying to). Good luck!
