- It's a bit late, but here's my review of another unbelievably incredible year with Mamamoo. I thought 2018 was the Year of the Radish, but after 2019, I'm starting to think all the upcoming years will be worthy of that title.
Don't let anyone tell you Mamamoo isn't still rising, hit their peak or aren't a top girl group. I can unequivocally say Mamamoo had the best overall year of any girl group in 2019, and they also have the most momentum of any girl group going right now!
2019 was an incredible journey with Mamamoo. Who's ready to see where 2020 takes us?

I remember a PD once said that Mamamoo is the kind of group who will last in the kpop industry and it shows because they're already seniors and yet they're still at their peak.
They debuted with the composure and presence of industry vets, and in their 6th year they are still glowing up. It's incredible to be a part of it~

Reason why I hate when twitter says RBW is a bad company and they’re not being promoted right. RBW is a small company and they can only do so much. People expect them to have “big 3” kind of promotions when they’re literally building themselves from ground up. Mamamoos success was due to their talent and due to the company that backs them up.

Also through their willpower and hard work. I remember in an interview that Mamamoo was doing 4 shows in a DAY (i think? Or was it a month). They also performed a lot in the streets to promote themselves. They worked hard and that's why we STAN
It's in 2016 when they were the 2nd most request groups for university events. They would have 4 events in their busiest day. You read that right, 1 day, not week or month.
And guys don‘t forget that MAMAMOO had a lot of collaboration. They are so requested by many artist! So proud of MAMAMOO 💗🥰😍
Yes, they have collabs for days. In a couple days, we'll have a Hwasa x Zico collaboration. That's something Hwasa has stated she's been interested in for years!

In the past it was so painful even for the fans, since people underestimated them bcs of their looks and people said 'mamamoo is vocal group who can't dance', hwasa received so many hates, and people dislikes their retro-ish concept. Before I even knew Mamamoo, my friend from Canada told me about them, and he said “isn’t Hwasa so hot?”. I said she’s not even pretty for Asians standard. I’ve started listening to their music them since I accidentally watched Solar’s Speechless cover on CZcams. When I watched their performance at MAMA 2018, GOD, I became a moomoo and worship Hwasa everyday!!!!! I’ll call her Beyoncé of Korea! I’m happy I met them and to be a fan~
They truly are the term " started from the bottom now we're at the top" they legit started from ground 0 to this. Small company0 fanbase 0 funding/financial resource or support 0 across the board of what every big 3 company had for any group especially before they debut.

I can tell how much they grew and became more confident in their music, abilities, and themselves. True every year they get better and better. Most girl groups in kpop in their 5th year you see them slow down and/or their popularity slow down. They're still well known but you'll see more newer groups rise. But Mamamoo stay consistent and working hard

To be honest, I feel like MAMAMOO is a group that would last forever in the industry if they want to. They're not idols, they're artists.
This is exactly why i believe these award shows are rigged. When best girl group noms was up 100% Mamamoo should've gotten it. But of course it went to Twice in terms of 2019, it was Mamamoo's year. Twice didn't do much in 2019. But Mamamoo worked there asses off like no other in 2019. Compared to other years Mamamoo was working year round

I also thought MMM would get it at that time, probably it wasn't just me who thought that. Well...can't do anything about that. Big companies, big budget, more power, more influence. Twice is also very good at what they do. Twice probably has the largest international fanbase but MMM came 4th in 2019 girl group and Twice was 5th. So...talent is important after all.
I hate to bring in BTS but, I personally see Mamamoo as the female version of BTS. I’m not saying that one group is better and I’m not saying that they’re should be compared, just that they’re similar in that Mamamoo started off as true underdogs from a small, no-name company as well and has broken almost all of the rules and confines the kpop industry has. They’ve single-handedly put RBW on the map, they’ve risen damn near the top even though they aren’t from the Big 3, they’ve outsold some of the biggest girl group names in kpop (both past and present), and they’ve established one of the biggest and friendliest girl group fan bases with fans from different genders, ages, and races. Mamamoo’s music has always been unconventional to the sound kpop popularizes. They make music with messages and meaning that extend beyond just your romantic life. Unlike some girl groups who’ve attached themselves and their brand to a specific genre or musical concept, Mamamoo has constantly redefined themselves and their music with each comeback, creating versatility and variety in the music they release and leaving themselves open to different musical opportunities. It’s ridiculous to see how far they’ve been able to get themselves despite the standards for girl groups already set by the industry. I’m extremely excited to see how 4 Dimensions plays out and how much more Mamamoo achieves this year. Hopefully they get longer end-of-the-year stages, win bigger prizes, and become a girl group that rookies debuting this year look up to.

I don't think it's humanly possible for someone to have continuous chills and goosebumps for 15 minutes straight.
The story of mamamoo reminds me of the story of South Korea in general. No one gave this country a chance of success, too insignificant, no natural resources, too poor. Only through developing talent and hard work has korea gone from a third world country to the 13th largest economy. MMM went from yet another ggroup from a insignificant, poor company without natural resources (traditional pretty looks) to one the largest acts in korea through despite adversity working against them by grinding and hustling up to 200 days a year to build their fan base.
They are deserved of all our respect!

I'll never forget that random moment in this time -space continuum that made me bump into a korean tv show where I found out about Mamamoo and I just fell in love with everything they do. MMM gave me hope & I found my love for kpop again. Thanks to the fandom of course that is probably the most chill fans out there. I was so sick of toxic fandoms (being in one of them in the past) but I found these chill, lovely people who were fine with other idols and mainly wanted to spread love. I regret not paying attention to MAMAMOO. I always see praise about them but I chose not to look since I'm a BLINK and felt like I can't stan 2 groups at the same time. But since BLACKPINK has been on this crazy long hiatus, I've been very lonely not hearing a good music/genre of my taste. And as if fate conspired, HIP was on my CZcams feed for awhile so I decided to check it. And damn, the swag they have is unbelievable. Made me regret more. Since that day I've been listening and watching every thing with MAMAMOO on it. Finishing QUEENDOM solidified my decision to stan them.
Tbh this group is very next level the only other group I know before them 2NE1 because both groups step up to stage as strong powerful women

The thing i love about moomoo is they all appreciate all of the members and even if someone comments only about one member like for eg hwasa others will be yeah she is like this like that and if their bias is another member they would just say i like 'X' more than hwasa and thats it no fights they just say what they like and some would also say all of the members are nice too but i feel like everybody loves the four of them even if they have a bias like i do but i still love all of them..idk if there exist toxic moomoos but i haven't met one and the fact that moomoos are really nice to each other makes it look like mamamoo and moomoos is one big radish family

I wasn't with them since day 1 but when i came across their videos for the first time with their powerful and flawless performances/ vocals, their relationship within the group and how funny and joyful they are, I was hooked and started stanning them right away so seeing all the success they are having now makes me feel so proud of them !!! They really deserves it, talent like theirs shouldn't be wasted so it's only fair that they are getting recognised as the artists they are and i wish them to have even more success in the future !!!❤💖💝💘

I'm really thankful to Jeon Somi, because of her, I found my way to Idols Drama Operation Team and met Moonbyul. Since then (around Egotistic era), I fell inlove with Mamamoo every damn videos, comebacks and performances. I am a Blink since BBHMM era, and they're big internationally. MMM, on the other hand, are still making their way globally. And I've known BP longer than I know MMM. But I'm more proud of how MMM is growing. 'Cuz they're from a small company, with limited resources, they managed to this after what? 4-5 years? And they're still going. I've never been proud since I entered Kpop fandom. They dominated every era even without the support of a big company with a big reputation. They reached everything they have right now through their talent, hardwork and deep-rooted passion. I know for sure I'll be a Moomoo all the way! (Really hope they can perform a concert in the Philippines, after all this Covid problems. I know Solar-unnie had a bad experience here, but I wish they can try coming here for us Filipino Moomoos. But either way, I hope MMM will stay safe and rest through this virus problem. Also same with you guys, co-Moomoos!)

it's only been less than a year since i've been into kpop (and that's bc of mmm) but damn i'm so proud of them 💚
I can honesty listen to all their songs and not one of them is bad (to me). I like how they write about anything and not just the stereotypical themes that everyone writes about (love, break up, how rich they are). I will probably never get the chance to see them live (from a very small country xD), but i'm very impressed by their live performances that I've seen on CZcams. Love the fact they stay themselves on and off stage. Honestly i don't care if they're gay, straight, tall, short, slim, fat, had plastic surgery, bought 20 cars, became vegetarians, crashed on earth in their alien space ship (yes... yes i am tying random stuff...moving on) ....i just like their friendship, chemistry, energy (or whatever you want to call it). They make me laugh every time they do some crazy s**t (pranking Solar mostly), they are obviously a very talented and hard working group of women who made it from zero to one of the top girl groups (the best to me honestly and I've been a BLINK longer than a MOOMOO) and i love them for it. Since i enjoy almost every type of music (rap, jazz, classical, pop, rock, blues, hip hop, ...) i was extremely happy to find a group that combines modern music with jazz, that's really rare today! :o Can literally relate to every one of them which makes them seem very down to earth and approachable, kind of like a next door neighbor you've seen around and say hi to just because (not possible off course i live to far away). I wish i had heard about them from the very beginning so i could have supported them on their journey, but nonetheless i am glad i got to enjoy their music even if it is form this moment on *I've been hooked since a week ago (>O_O)>* my CZcams is filed with MAMAMOO video recommendations since I've been watching/ listening to nothing else for the past few days now 😅 (2020....better late then never i guess...ah...the beauty of modern technology where everything is recorded on the internet one way or another...). So another MooMoo is born and in Slovenia no less 😏😆 anyway...will continue to enjoy their music and adventures and if i by chance stumble upon an album in a store it's gonna be mine in seconds. Congrats too all the girls! And keep it going! 잘 했어! :D

If I am an idol or an artist, I will definitely want to work with them 'cause everything seems so possible for them 'cause they are very talented. And seems like they are very lovable, approachable, relatable, mature, and outright down to earth persons. They are a WOMAN group. They are like 'what you see is what you get'. No pretensions. It will be also great and fun to be friends with them as well (how I wish). They are definition of versatile, passionate and strong women. They stand for what is right. They elucidate women empowerment and self-love. That no matter what hate you received, stand up for youself. That no matter what struggles you face, stand up for yourself. I remember one of Hwasa's fave artist Beyoncé's song: "It is the soul that needs a surgery". People are blinded for what they see on the outside but what needs to be changed importantly is what is inside. More to say, but this is the reason I support and love MMMO. I was already aware of MAMAMOO thanks to FBE's video on them (I sure wish they'd make a follow-up of that with HIP and other performances plus introducing their Reactors to each member) and I've always thought of these girls as extremely talented despite now listening to their stuff (I wasn't that into K-music at the time―I'm more of a J-music person―and only listened to Orange Caramel, J-Rabbit, Hong Jinyoung and GOT7).
But a friend of mine introduced me to them and CZcams recommended me Dua Lipa's collab with Hwasa and I got hooked after listening to HIP for the umpteenth time! I'm even subscribed to Solar's channel and watched their Sketchbook Waggy performance multiple times 😂 I wish for nothing but success and good health (physical and mental) for them 💗

there are lots of new moomoos that their first comeback is fricking travel, like me. i recently fell in love with mamamoo and for the first time, the only group i truly stan not because of visuals nor because of the company. i stan their pure talent and true colors. their the only group who is like them. like whatever mamamoo is doing, others have never done it. like being beagles, showing the weirdest of themselves on camera without caring about judgement. luv them so much
The thing what sets a group from small company vs the big 3 is the promotion and buzz around the debut, comeback. More budget, more well known experienced producer. So I really applaud and proud when groups like Mamamoo, BTS, etc chart or do well. I get happy because they worked so hard from being unknown artist from poor companies to being well known leaders in the industry. They deserve it. Remember when Mamamoo went to their music shows in their earlier days, they were doing their own makeup and styling backstage. Going to show with their CEO cause they couldn't afford staff and managers to now one of the biggest name in kpop. Charting alongside big groups from bigger richer companies.
