- So it's been a few months but we finally received a Honda Talon 1000X-4 model in stock so I thought I'd jump in early this morning and do a quick walkaround.
Honda did a phenomenal job wit this machine. They KNEW this side by side would attract existing Honda fans with their direct drive mechanical transmission as well as many other side by side operators looking to get away from the belt drive machines.
The Talon boasts a 105HP (Plenty of power in my opinion for trail riding) fuel-injected parallel twin engine. Liquid cooled, of course. This has a 6-Speed direct drive transmission with full automatic mode and manual paddle shift modes.
Here's the lowdown:

REAR SUSPENSION-3-link trailing arm; 15.0 inches of travel

Just rolled my 21 1000x4 live valve. Was absolutely impressed at how well it did. Barely any scratches and not a single issue mechanically.
Can I ask what you paid for it? I can’t get a dealer to tel me what I would pay out the door for one. They start at $22,500 but what fees get added on at a dealer?
@@lindsychatterton bought mine cash for 24k. Dodged sales tax with it being “agricultural equipment” that was with dealer fees and stupid shit.
@@WewuzKangz85 awesome. Thank you ! Now I need to figure out how to doge taxes :)
1:03 The sound a tiny 2-cylinder engine is actually really impressive.
Good video Thanks
does this have the electronically adjustable shocks (i.e., different modes)...or are they manually adjustable? Does this model have "launch mode"? Rear cargo capacity/payload?
Hey there! On THIS particular one it does not have the launch or push button suspension. The Live Wire Edition Talons all have the push button suspension and the launch control. It’s super cool!
Rear Cargo bed capacity is 300lbs.
It's much better than the red.
How does the suspension feel compared to a rzr?
Hey Justin, truly Polaris wins in the suspension category hands down. The shocks on the Honda Talon's have always been known to be pretty stiff. Those RZR shocks are super nice. Plush. Adjustable. Comfortable.
@@benattwiggcycles yeah that's what I figured. I rode in a 2 seat talon and the suspension was rough, even compared to my 2015 rzr... Thanks for the info!
Is this still available for purchase??
Hey there Justin I'm afraid this one is no longer available.
Why are all these 4 seaters so ridiculously long and low.... it's like these guys have never actually heard of breakover angle.
This is a 2021. You keep saying 2022
Thank you, yes you are correct this is a 2021.
Wears a helmet but no seatbelt…
doesn't even strap on the helmet either
Can a 12 year old drive it with a adult in the car …
How do I put this safely? Lol
The Talon can be easily operated my all walks of life, although Honda recommends all drivers to be age 16 and up.
(I grew up operating farm machinery much younger than 16 so I know where you’re coming from)
The 2022 still looks like a 10 year old design with 32's and horrible thumping engine sound.
By the way, I'm a huge Honda fan, but on the SxS, I only like their DCT....did I mentioned about the horrible lawn-mower like engine sound?
Come on Honda, we don't care for cute painted wheels!!!!
We want a less toy-look but a more aggressive sporty looking off-road machine, with better designed suspension and put a darn real 4 cylinder turbo engine on it!
Hire some foreign engineers if your team can't do it!

What an honor that must’ve been.
