Beautifully articulated as usual. No-one has helped me make sense of my inner self like listening to David. He doesn't teach or preach, he's just someone who I listen to & feel profoundly grateful for doing so

This interview made me cry! I almost visited Thurso last autumn cause I wanted to see the northern lights! I lived in SCO for the past 3 years and In spite of a rough time I enjoy the landscape pretty much. I was experiencing lots of things while meditation and no one around where I was living believed me. : ( Looking forward to buy your book David! Thanks Guru Viking.

Saint Oda was a Scottish princess who came to N. Brabant in the 7th century to become a female heremit. She lived near my birthplace and it is told she fed the magpies every day. There is a town called after her wich is st. Oedenrode. This story happened ages ago in the south of the Netherlands

I might be wrong but I have always believed that what the Bible referred to as Satan was their term for the ego (also what is meant by "the god of this world") and what is called "hell" is actually where we are all living right now. "Satan" keeps us locked here life after life after life until we can finally escape by overcoming the ego's (Satan's) grip on us. Once the ego is curtailed we are enlightened and merge with consciousness ("God").

  • @mispanludensprinck5652

Many interesting things were said, but there was no discussion of Christ. He did say that although he had no focus on Christianity, Christ played a big part in his first theophany. So perhaps in the next interview.

Several mystics, including one I know personally, have experienced "The Dark Night of the Soul" upon enlightenment when they found that there truly is no God "out there." They spent their lives worshiping a God and devoted to a God and thinking this God was their "savior" who truly loved them deeply. But the moment they became enlightened, that "magical" God vanished as they learned that God was actually consciousness and they in fact were that very same God. It happened to John of the Cross, what he called the dark night of the soul, and happened to Mother Teresa, who at the end of her life doubted the existence of the God she hated devoted her life to. The term "dark night" is thrown around by people who think it means something akin to depression but it's nothing like that.

Being a fellow Scot shouldn't be sufficient on its own for appearing on the platform.
