- This video sheds light on the infamous kidnapping and murder case of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra in the year 1995.
Ritesh Lakhi in this video recounts the prequel to the events leading to kidnapping and murder of rights activist Khalra who had been vehemently raising voice against the illegal custodial murders and killings of hundreds of youth in fake and set up encounters in the districts of Amritsar and police district of Tarantaran.
The video gives almost a day wise account from the day Jaswant Singh khalra organised a press conference to shed light on the vital issue of custodial tortures and disposal of unclaimed and unidentified bodies in thousands of numbers in January 1995 to October 1995 the month he was finally shot dead in presence of several cops of adjoining police stations on the orders of higher officials. Before this Jaswant Singh Khalra the leading human rights activist was kidnapped on September 6, 1996 from his residence in Amritsar before being subjected to torture in illegal police custody and finally an extra judicial killing in police custody.
