  • Unless we are willing to share in Jesus’ humiliation, we will not experience His exaltation. In this sermon, R.C. Sproul continues his series in the gospel of Luke, teaching that following Christ comes at a cost, but it involves unparalleled gain.
This sermon was preached by R.C. Sproul at Saint Andrew's Chapel in Sanford, Fla. Hear more from his series in the gospel of Luke: • The Gospel of Luke: Se...

WHAT A WONDERFUL MAN OF GOD R.C. SPROUL WAS. I miss him dearly. Though I am in Norway I have always listened to this man of GOD , even after his departure I am still listening and learning.

We plant a seed, Father decides when to make it grow. Your friend is a thoughtful man, you know some would have given a flip answer and forgot about the question.

How can 3 days be counted from Friday at sundown until the following Sunday at daybreak🤔

    • @April-rj8lf
      @April-rj8lf Před 2 lety

First day and first night happened at the exact same time. Depending on which side of the earth you were on.
Second day and second night happened at the exact same time.
Third day and third night happened at the exact same time.

The Jews counted time differently. Sun down to sun up was one day. Sun up to sun down...day 2. Sun down to sun up...day 3. If you read Old Testament history, you find this out.

Peter's Confession and Our Cross (Luke 9:18-26)"
Hmmm belated Sir...I read all of those verses in several different version of bibles...And...
...I see NO where, in those verses, where Peter "confessed" anything....And I believe that is why Jesus said to Peter in...Matthew 16:23 Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
So: regardless of the entire "Christian World"; that believed Peter was the "chosen" of Jesus; I believe that has been a LIE until this day...and I believe he was worse than Judas, AMEN! Could I be wrong? ABSOLUTELY YES! But all others could be wrong too...
...In any case Brethren, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!

Pat Dee........After Peter confessed that Jesus was the Christ.......Jesus said He must go to Jerusalem, suffer many things, die on the cross, and rise on the third day.
Peter said, "This will never happen!" The Jews were looking for a Messiah that would conquer Rome.....they were not looking for the suffering servant. But the Messiah must suffer and die.....and after He had done so Satan would be defeated. Peter confessed that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of the living God........and Jesus said God told Peter this. To deny Jesus having to die on the cross........that comes from Satan.
Pat..........Your " Jesus" is not the Jesus of Scripture. You are the one who believes lies. Pat, you missed the part ( on purpose?) that Jesus restored Pater and told him three times to " feed my sheep." Repent before you die.

@mikebrenner5422 Jesus IS Messiah (in Hebrew language), Christo (in Greek language) and Christ (in English language). And, Messiah means: "Deliverer" in Hebrew; Christo means "Anointed One" in Greek and "Savior" in English. But ALL, are the same thing! Now please read this...
Matthew 19:26 Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
So, praise Jesus' Holy Name OFTEN! Because:He is the only true God Almighty EVER, Amen!

I am so happy that I do not belong to any of this.
I am afraid Mr Sproul has separated himself from his body and the world around him and sought refuge in ancient human writing.

It's easy to complain that someone is wrong when you don't prove them wrong and don't provide what you believe is right with supporting scriptures.
