ikr the new horizons daily music is so like irritating and as if there was a bug screaming in your ear LOL sorry if that's harsh- i also don't think the massive drum beats and guitar melodies AND electric keyboardy sounds (that are in sooo many of the hour tracks) although they're good in general, i feel like none of these components really fit the vibe of animal crossing at all as they don't seem to be kind of relaxing and innocent sounding enough. only the rain versions fit this a little more since they remove the constant plodding beat in the background
people make it out to be super terrible but idk tbh i really like it. but its probably because it's my first animal crossing game 😓

This is possibly my favorite game of all time. First played I think when I was 7. Now I’m 18 starting college, crazy how time flies.

only reason I have heard 5 am is bcuz once my brother had the stomach bug and in the middle of the night like at 2 am my mom woke up with it too. Now they both had it and I was still asleep but they were being loud and they woke me up. I couldn't fall back asleep so I just played acnl from about 2 am to about 6 am. I stayed away from them as much as possible but I still got what they had and had it the worst. Life Sux.

About 7 months ago my 3DS XL suddenly turned off. It would not turn back on. I tried to get it to work so much. but nothing happened. Now 7 months today. I just ordered a new 3DS XL. Right when I get it. I will throw Animal Crossing;New Leaf into my 3DS and play for 1,000 hours. They will say something like. "EMILY! We haven't seen you in months!". Tears of joys man.

I really like the 7 pm music and 8 pm music
This game was such a big part of my childhood. My older sister would always explain how to get a bigger house and how to properly use bells. I would play this game on my 3DS everywhere I went. I had nicknames for all the villagers, I always kept track of everything, I had a huge house full of nintendo game items from fortune cookies, I would always fall in pitfall seeds, I would always get scared by the bees and spiders, and I never understood a lot of the things the villagers and stores said so when I caught an oar fish and hammerhead shark i donated them to the museum not knowing what I was doing. The Oarfish was the actual first fish i caught in that game during winter, when I got the game for Christmas. I didn't know the value of the fish or anything I had in that game, so I would either sell it or donate it to the museum. One day, I stopped playing the game. I never had the time to play the game because of school, homework, and more. I had to transfer schools, grades, etc. I eventually never played on my 3DS anymore. However, one day, I was watching TV and I saw an advertisement for Super Mario Maker. Ever since I saw that advertisement, I wanted it so bad. We had rented the game for a while on Gamefly, but then we had to send it back. I kept begging and begging for the game but my family never bought it. Then, I saw a new advertisement for Mario Maker on the 3DS. I asked for the 3DS version as a Christmas gift which I surprisingly got! I was so eager to play it and start up my 3DS for the first time in about a two years. I opened my 3DS case and saw all the games I used to play. However, one stood out. It was Animal Crossing New Leaf. I remembered the village I had, my house, my villagers, my items, me staying up late in my bed and playing the game, and all the other memories. I later started up Animal Crossing to see my characters frizzy hair, dead flowers, nostalgic noises of the nintendo items in my house, weeds everywhere, trees everywhere, empty paths, empty houses, and a full mailbox with moving letters, all while the nostalgic 1 AM music was playing. All the nostalgic sights made me cry that night and truly appreciate what great games Nintendo makes. Ever since then I play my 3DS every week and take good care of my new village. Thank you Nintendo for such great memories. You are an amazing company and do amazing things.

The notes just have this tired, drunken feeling to them that snaps you out of your hypnotized state long enough for you to tear your eyes away from the DS screen, look around your room, and wonder what youre doing with your life...

Pastel Palette I love pitch bends, vibrato, and cutoff modulation. The whistling makes it kind of cute and I think the pitch bends going up are uplifting.
CRW I like it too, but it gives me this dizzy, tired feeling. Its not really uplifting in my opinion, but it fits well as a late night/ early morning ambiance.

I was in 4th grade when I first started playing the original Animal Crossing for Gamecube. I had a house in my friend's town and she had to sell her Gamecube and move away to a different country the next year, so she gave me the game and her memory card.

Animal crossing new leafs music gives me mixed emotions like sadness happiness relaxation and most of this games music has a very nostalgic feel to it I just love every single soundtrack :)
It’s super nostalgic. Whenever I hear the old music, I just think of those simpler times when all I cared about was what villagers I had in my town, and what fish I was going to catch that day.

The past 2 years I studied (psychology) quite intensively (a couple 100 hours at least) and I'm quite certain I spend the majority of the hours with the 'Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Full Day Music' and the 'Relaxing Animal Crossing Music Compilation' playlist in the background.
Very relaxing and and focus supporting background music that somehow doesn't get boring, the only other album I can think of being more relaxing in my experience probably is Max Richter's album 'Sleep', but this album is a bit too much sleep inducing for productivity means.

NH is good and all but New Leaf had the spazz and jazz. It had this amazing feeling that I don't think I'll ever see in any other game ever.
The years I spent playing it, the nights I stayed up, being angry at villagers for moving in terrible spots; all of that, it was amazing and the music as well.
NH is good but New Leaf will always hold a special place in me.

12:42 with every note of the string, it glides through each brain crevice i have like flossing my teeth. removing any hardship i face in the moment and replacing it with nostalgia. since i didnt play acnl with headphones, i didnt get the opportunity to hear the string in such high quality. it took all these years for me to come to appreciate acnl 6 am song. Honestly, 8 years later, and this is still my absolute favourite, most personally and emotionally treasured, and most beautiful soundtrack of all time. I can't express how nostalgic this soundtrack is, and above all else, how much it means to me. It makes me miss the simpler times of my life, back when I was a kid, with not one worry in the world, playing my favourite game in the whole wide world. Thank you, Nintendo.
the fact that you have to unlock hourly music in new horizons is downright insane. On your first day in new leaf, you could roam around and discover new music with each passing hour, but in new horizons, all you get is ONE song for both day time and night time. The least they could do is give us a day track and a night track but no, we're stuck with one lousy track that gets old quick.

I am very much tired of the song too, but by the time we unlock town hall I think everybody will have forgotten about this ahaha. Plus it's something to look forward to, which I think is necessary for everybody stuck in quarantine atm.

It suddenly strikes me how weird it is that they make all these hourly themes when such a small percentage of the player base must hear the quarter made for the early AMs. But I suppose making a whole bunch of stuff most of your players will never see is kind of the Animal Crossing thing...

i miss this game so much. i remember how hard i cried when i lost the card, i didn’t have many friends growing up and my villagers were always there for me, they really felt like true friends to me. new horizons doesn’t even compare and it’s honestly disappointing.

New Horizons doesn't make you want to come back. It was really relying on those updates which ended up only lasting a year. Once youve got an island set up theres really no reason to play. The villigers are completely uninteresting. They removed random things for no reason. In nh you cant make a snow family. Nh for whatever dumb reason doesnt have tropical fruits like new leaf did? What was the planning there? Overall it just feels rushed and definitely didnt have the same love for the series that previous games had that always kept you coming back.

I've been playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf for 2 years, and I've never heard the 5 A.M. theme until now.

This game is truly special and way better than new horizons in my experience. The older games always have better soundtracks for some reason. New horizons is flooding with electronic synthesizers, trumpets, artificial sound effects, compared to animal crossing which has a real and beautiful piano, beautiful acoustics from a guitar, and other beautiful instruments. I prefer the soundtrack so much better on this game👍

back then, i played in the evenings up until bedtime, and obviously noticed the songs that went with each hour. wow, all i remember is catching fish for hours on end, and trapping villagers in pitfall seeds.
i say to myself then, thank you. thank you for growing up even though it proved challenging. you still did it. i say to myself now, if i did it then, i am more than capable now. i've come so far, and while maturing is scary, it's been the best thing in my short life that i've been through. then i think how i'll be saying the same thing to myself a decade in the future. and it'll go like that until i die.
the playlist ends. i'm back here, in the present. it's safe. it's temporary. it's so ordinary. i smile, because, there's no place i'd rather be.
animal crossing new leaf will always be special to me, especially its music. i'd always play when i was really sad or stressed, and the late night music helped me so much when i was too stressed to sleep. 12am and 1am will always be among my favorites for that :)

Ikr, only good music in new horizons in my opinion is 6pm don't get me wrong I LOVE animal crossing new horizons I have all my dreamies but new leaf is a whole other level especially the music Nintendo just changed the music entirely on new horizons and it's not the same.
just turn on the old nintendo and hear new leaf music while playing new horizons xD

Tbh, I like ACNL music better than ACNH. I remembered playing ACNL a lot and always standing outside to listen to the music (I really love the day themes and 6pm to 11pm)
Same. I wish NH had an option at resident services to listen to the hourly music of past games.
It would also be cool when visiting other islands because there would be a chance to hear a whole new soundtrack!

Man, when 10pm hit I actually gasped. I really needed this, this nostalga reminding me of when I was a kid, staying up till 2am, playing with my friend on new leaf, island surfing, looking for hackers to give me amiibo items, man this takes me back...
Goodness this takes me back, Im sitting here at 10:27pm with tears in my eyes. New Leaf was my childhood, and I cant play it again, in fear that Ill tarnish the memories. Now that I have New Horizons, I fear going back :(
Those rare nights as a kid where you heard the 1,2, and 3 AM music late at night on your DS. Those were good times.
playing new horizons with the volume low and listening to this over it changes the experience Completely . 15/10 highly recommend
6 am is nostalgic af man. I remember playing on my 3ds everyday before school, talking to the normal villagers, walking around, listening to this theme. I wish I could experience those days again, back when life was simple.

1am music is so nostalgic.. I used to stay up wayy past my bedtime to play animal crossing with my sister, doing all these stupid little fake quests and travelling to the island.. those were the days 😆😆
Came back here after 350 hours in New Horizons. Those new OSTs just didn't click. I would pay good bucks for a NL music pack for NH..

I remember Wild World music much more vividly than any other Animal Crossing music. My baby brother's over here humming all these New Leaf songs and it makes me so happy that he also has AC memories 💘
I've just realized I've literally heard every single song in this game... Wow I've played so many hours of this game... Idk but the ACNH soundtrack just doesn't sound like Animal Crossing. I've played over 800 hours of ACNL and don't regret a thing
This game is so special to me. I got it when I was 7 or 8 and for years I was totally immersed in this fictional world. I loved the game so much that when I upgraded from my regular 3DS to the New 3DS XL I even saved the money for the game again because I didn’t know you could transfer digital purchases and I just loved the game so much. I have countless memories of this game from playing it for hundreds and hundreds of hours and every time I hear these songs, I get warped back to that happy place in my mind with all those memories. I know to a lot of people this series looks like a boring kids game but to me and a lot of other people these games just bring us so much relaxation and happiness and thinking back to them just fills us with fond memories.
8 am is so motivating, its like its telling me to get up and make the best out of my day

The soundtrack in nh has potential but its too similar to me 😣 and the feel you get from each hour seems like it belongs to a different time imo and nl music is literal perfection like downgrade much?

The NH music was made to be more atmospheric while you play hence why they sound similar to fit the island theme. That's also why you hear guitar in like every song lol. But NL is 100% more memorable already.
I remember back in 2013 when I bought this game with my Birthday money and I had no clue what Animal Crossing was. I started the game and I put so much time into it over the nearly 10 years that I have owned it. I often put the game down for months sometimes years at a time and each and every time I play it I have a rush of memories come flying back towards me of simpler times. I remember the time I sold my first and to this day only Petaltail Dragonfly to one of my villagers to buy my house. I remember the first time I found a Lily of the Valley in my town. I remember naming my character and Town after Doctor Who. I remember waiting to explore the reset centre once I built it. I remember my first in game birthday and the Birthday sign I got. I remember where everything in my town is and every time I do pick the game back up I fall in love with it each and everytime.
I love hearing other peoples stories. This game means so much to so many people.

The fact that I know all the early morning ones, I remember waking up at 5am every day and playing New Leaf on my DS. 🥺 I’m only 13 but I solidly consider myself an og animal crossing player, I played Wild World on my sisters’ DSs when they’d let me, and I played Let’s Go To The City (City Folk) on our wii, and I got my own limited edition animal crossing DS with New Leaf, and it was a whole damn era. Later on I got Happy Home Designer, and now I have New Horizons on my switch lite. 💗
