I was so happy for Robertson last night. my wife made fun of me for clapping when he got the OT goal and then again because I was still smiling ear to ear five minutes later. Listening to Steve describe the goal gave me feels again. Best Leaf performance this season. I hope he can stay healthy, he belongs on the team if he can keep playing like that.
If your wife was making of fun of you……then maybe she should try making fun of All Of Us who were smiling for 5 minutes for Robertson’s Goal‼️ You are Not Alone‼️

Who would’ve guessed the type of player we’ve been looking for would be found in a rookie in the AHL. He was taking hits to make plays and he was focused. Most Leaf’s look disinterested until their down a couple of goals. I really hope he sticks around for the season.

He may have been getting praise for 3 years now but I don’t think he’d look this good if he came up a year or 2 ago. The Marlins play a much tougher game than the Leafs so that time in the AHL I’m sure has build on his weaknesses.

What a impressive win . Puts things into prospective when they try they will win. Willie this year is playing hard and is bring out his bad of tricks. We are finishing checks playing fast. Nick would get his chance we all knew it would happen. He made the best of the situation and very happy for him.
my one hope for his team: struggle now all you want but please peak in the playoffs.

@graviteh is definitely an asset to Sportsnet…whoever made that decision to bring him in deserves a raise! I started watching during playoff streams a couple years ago, and they are always a great time!

Thanks for mentioning Wedgewood. He was one of the great, quietest storylines of last year. On Arizona! Goalies who establish themselves as sound backups at 30-years-old on terrible teams really deserve some press. It's a tough, thankless job that means a ton in the locker room.
also dont feel bad about our objectively really good pk its not that the leafs couldnt its that the stars have a really good pk. sometimes its healthy to remember what the team your facing is and to forgive things your team struggled with.

I was at the game and everyone around me was in awe at Nicky Bobby. We noticed him every time he stepped on the ice bc he's so tenacious and hardworking, he never takes a shift off. 16 and 34 couldn't complete a pass to save their lives but 89 had the game of his life. What a night

I was at the game and my voice is absolutely busted from cheering so much what a game!
I know it's hard to put Leafs in Hat Picks Steve but if Robertsons game winner isn't a hat pick I dont know what is.
Leafs remind me of the Red Wings before they won a championship in the 90's. Except back then there was no social media. There was a lot of criticisms and doubt over whether or not Yzerman could win in the playoffs. I do believe the Leafs will win a cup just not any time soon. I would say they're still 5-10 years out.
I've mentioned this a few times over the last couple years on his channel. I'm a Wings fan myself and the current Leafs are very much like the early 90's Wings, primarily 92-96.

Can't imagine why Marner is on the refs after his best friend on the team gets his career ended by a way-late crosscheck well after he doesn't have the puck anymore and isn't looking, and the refs do jack about it.

Toronto got 8 powerplays, they should've done much more than barely scratch out a win in OT. 16 minutes of PP time, nearly a full period. Toronto had 4 forwards with over 10 minutes of PP ToI. If Toronto didn't win, I'd be highly concerned.
Dallas has one of the best PP kills in the league. I wouldn’t stress about it, y’all with be alright. Coming from a stars fan.

Not surprised one bit when I saw that cheap shot to the back of Matthews by Jamie Benn. After all, he ended Dylan Larkin's season two seasons ago with a similar chop to the back of Dylan's neck. Too bad none of the other Leafs paid this back.

My opinion on the whole Mitch situation is yeah ur not wrong but at the same time it took him NINE games last year to score last year & in 5 games last year he had 1 point & in 5 games this year he has 4 points but I understand you are talking about his overall playing & honestly I think he's going to get back into the swing of things soon.. I think if he doesn't change within 10 games then we have a problem but again I tend to not worry this early into the season
Not having anyone in the line up to respond to Benn's crosscheck is a problem. Other teams see this and will keep going after Matthews as there is no price to pay.
I can’t help but think the 10lbs Marner put on in the off-season is having an affect early. He def looks slower and not as agile. It wouldn’t surprise me if that’s part of the issue.
