I was once on a concert, in Brussels on Grand Place... This was magnificient. I was a child and I have been looking for these guys for my entire life... NOW I FOUND THEM WOOOOOOOHOOOO
Have all their records, seen them live a numerous times, I'm from Sweden as well. Their music is traditional Swedish and finish folkmusic with old instruments and how their mix up their sounds with rock and punk is truly magical ;).

Quand je les ai découverts, plus qu'un groupe folk, il m'a semblé qu'ils pratiquaient le heavy metal, de par l'intensité et la force de leurs compositions.

I took this CD to my company, of the Royal spaniard Marine Infantry back in the day and every one loved it; i still can sing half of the LP.

One of the best band on Earth......I mean it...
This album is among great 90's albums like Tool's "Ænima", Primus' "Frizzle Fry", Radiohead's "OK Computer", Kyuss' "Welcome to Sky Walley" and Madonna's "Rye of light". Have listened to it regularly since 1994.. Love it :-)

Being from Denmark. Once a friend of mine and I was going to Sweden for a weekend camping in my mothers Peugeot 306, he pulled out this album/CD ... life has never been the same since that 😁 Got all their albums.
Metal head too. Just more into thrash/death.

At Spinefarm record shop in Helsinki 1997 I befriended this goth girl who invited me to her place for coffee. We listened to some records and then she played to me this. I was instantly sold out. And now 23 years later, I still am.

Heard this years ago, but was reminded of it recently through Thulean Perspective. Good album - I also recommend Varttina and Garmarna - both are excellent Scandinavian folk groups.
Värttinä isn't Scandinavic, rather it's Nordic... But yes, great music.

Agree. Varttina is pretty amazing. I haven't heard Gjallahorn before. Will have to check them out one day. What's made an impression on me lately, it was Heilung "LIFA" and old good Open Folk with their first album "Bretonstone".
My holy trinity of Nordic Ethno-Folk:
Hedningarna, Gjallahorn and Värttinä
Not necessary in that order in every day of the week though ...
