For those thinking she’ll make just as much/more. She likely won’t. NCAAB has more visibility & fan engagement than the WNBA. The wnba doesn’t have anything that even comes close to March madness popularity or even women’s ncaa regular season engagement.
So even she keeps the same sponsors it’s not likely they’d pay the same premiums for less visibility.

As in for money, her nil deals will go with her to the league, she in fact will be earning more with her WNBA salary and her collaborations and deals. Caitlin doesn’t make money from Iowa’s attendance record, many agree she should, but it would be unfair as Iowa is a team sport. Popularity aside, the money she makes will grow larger, and with Caitlin that won’t stop even when she makes it out of the ncaa

Wilbon is right. She won’t sniff anything close to this money. I remember Stacey Dales leaving the WNBA in the prime of her career to become a sideline reporter because it paid more than the WNBA. The WNBA is the sports equivalent of the witness relocation program. People always go missing once they enter the WNBA. Diana Taurasi and Britney Griner were both hugely popular as college athletes about the same popularity as Caitlin Clark and then they go pro and you never hear from them again (except for a mishap at Russian customs).

It's all about viewership. The more people watch, the more network coverage and advertising revenue comes in, and the more an increase in salaries can be demanded. This is where Caitlin Clark is revolutionizing women's basketball. Tickets to home games were sold out before the season even started. She and the Hawkeyes are selling out "opponent" stadiums. I have rarely, if ever, watched a full WNBA game. But I can promise you, when Caitlin goes to the WNBA I won't miss a single game she's playing in. Either will millions of other people. So this is interesting...
Lets just assume for conversation sake, that this is true. Clark is making more off NILs than she would make playing in the WNBA.
If so, she and a handful of others (Reese, Buekers, maybe even Ionescu) in the next couple years have an enormous opprtunity to use their personal brands to do something the WNBA has never done since the day it started. Grow. Grow in viewers. Grow in ticket sales. Grow in overall revenue. Grow in exposure. Finaly turn the league into something profitable, not a write off for the NBA thats subsidizing it. Use your image to invest into that product. Pick up you fellow women in arms. Get them paid. Trickle down economics may not work outside of a vaccum like Regan envisioned, but in a vacuum like the WNBA, it absolutely WOULD!

Stay in school. Make well over $1 million next year or go to the pros and make 72,000. That’s an easy decision. Stay in college. Playing in front of sold out crowds on the road as well as home. Be the face of the sport. Or go to the pros and get lost in a crowd of about 3000 people that will be watching. The NBA for women is a joke.soak up this, soak up all that attention because it’s well-deserved.

It's definitely not easy, does she get them same endorsement deals in college? NIL deals and what she getting from playing in the WNBA is different money. She can get money and attention in college, but she not getting the big endorsement deals until her feet is firmly in the WNBA, You clearly have no idea the difference with playing in college and making the league regarding endorsements and just focusing on a $72K contract lol.

@@trhansen3244 If the WNBA not good enough for her why is she not leading the league and her team a top team? She is barely shooting over .400 which is only good in baseball. Almost 6 TO's a game definitely not good. And her overall shooting is down from college. For somebody that played Bball too seems like she hasn't even figured the league out, yet to you she is too good for the league. Makes sense. I like CC and know she is still young unlike her fans, but sometimes her fans overhyped her game too much. Haven't played ONE season and somebody too good for that league is crazy bias thinking smh

That's the beauty of the NIL deal! I'm all for it, any college athlete should be making money off themselves. NCAA and colleges have been banking off these athletes forever now it's time for the athletes to get some of that pie! Due to her making that kind of money once in the WNBA she won't have to play overseas if she doesn't want to. She's going to be drafted with money already in her pocket plus knowing how to handle her finances already.

Wow though a accident ironic enough. It served as reason & proff as a random dude. Shows why no matter how much this woman. Cry that NBA money won't apply. No matter how hard they try. Cuz they're not worth the buck. After this how do they not know what's up. A small collision from average Joe yo. Left her needing support to get off the court. So to me honestly this is better than irony. It's more like poetry being poetic. Exposing the fantasy narrative that this women's play is worth the men's pay. At the end of the day proving how this women. Can continuously act & talk tough but it ain't enough. Cuz ultimately they're not made out the same stuff. Explaining why once again they're not worth the buck. Whiners can cry but the numbers don't lie. As the truth just was applied & I don't think anyone is surprised. This foolishness of women thinking they're equal physically to men gotta end why pretend? Sports are a entertaining business common sense should tell anyone. That woman aren't going to bring in the same revenue as men. Therefore make the same amount of money. Business 101 you've to spend money to make money. So why would any business organization. Hints the NBA spend more than what they're going to be making back in return? Yet regardless still on some real I know this WNBA women will. Be naive & self deceived continuously. Believing they're worth the money & can out play the today's NBA. But It's ok most know where the truth lay. It's just cap a poor group of delusional women's act. This ain't no attack just a fact.

The problem is that sponsors only hire you or pay if you are bringing a lot of people to watch you. Unfortunately the WNBA is not really watched, so the sponsors might go away. Can Caitlin make a lot of people to follow her in the WNBA, we’ll have to see
