You need a better wallpaper to do these tests! Looks like it's cracked everytime but it's just the wallpaper 😂
Was about to say that! Hahaha😂😂😂😂😂
lol yeah I know, was just the stock one so slipped my mind.
First thought of everyone who watched the video!
Mee too thought screen cracked 😂😂
exactly wtffff😂🤣🤣🤣
I must say, this phone looks beautiful as hell tho. Really nice design tbh.
👍
So much nicer than the iphones
Worst choice of wallpaper for a drop test 🙂
yup, I didn't realize that for some reason. Was just the stock wallpaper on the phone so slipped my mind.
At least you got a drop test duh, be grateful
You fooled me with the first drop with that wallpaper 😆
lol yeah sorry, should have thought about that. Was the stock one on the phone.
These controlled drop tests are never quite like reality. Often, you introduce spin and acceleration forces when attempting to catch your falling phone. Good video anyway.
If the Phone is falling , I try to reduce the impact by just letting it drop on my foot .
👍
@@avash2009 I'd probably just kick it towards something, crushing it even more.
Thanks for taking time out to produce this video as your experiment was very insightful.
Based upon what I've seen here, the Google Pixel 8 pro hardware seemd to be a solid phone. I honestly thought that the chrome camera visor would have got more scuffed but it did okay 👍
👍
Its been just two weeks since my 7 pro fell out of my pocket while I was squatting. Barely 20 cm drop. Two corners shattered and spiderwebs all over. They must've done something incredible this year
TOP!..thanks for your previews!I'll wait to see how the fingerprint unlock works and then I'll order it..even if I'm still undecided between the 8 and the 8pro.I use a 6.4 and honestly every now and then it's a little uncomfortable...but a 6.2" display is perhaps too small...dilemma🙈
👍
This was painful to watch 😄 Thanks for conducting these tests. I'm impressed with the durability.
You're welcome :)
Good job Google
👍
I dropped my pixel 6pro several times. A few face down and I thought for sure it's cracked. But so far it doesn't have a single crack. My wife has a S20 ultra 5g ,she has replaced her screen twice so far.
Would love to see the camera tested after the drops, especially the optical image stabilization since this is one of the few moving parts on a smartphone.
Great video and testing! I just ordered a new Pixel 8 Pro to replace my Pixel 6 Pro on which I cracked the screen twice. Looks like the Pixel 8 is more robust based on your testing. Thank You!
Hi, just wondering after the drop test, was the phone's function test conducted, such as keyboard, camera zooming, camera adjustments, I guess you'd probably done the checks off screen..
Yeah everything still works. Just needs a new screen at this point.
PBK you are doing Gods work.
Its amazing! ❤️❤️❤️
Finally the flat screen is used in the flagship section aside of iphone , so like this durability increased a lot,tnx for the video
👍 you're welcome
The fact that this phone survived the drops that well is amazing. Totally blown away.
Has anyone made a wallet case or something where it gets rid of the camera bump and your cards just slide in the gap below?
Finally Google made something durable ❤❤❤
👍
The only problem with Google is they never seem to interested to bring this devices to more countries. Yes, i can buy from 3rd party online sellers but without official support and warranty, its to risky.
yup
Then you should move to a country that takes better care of customers. The reseller is responsible for taking care of warranty which sounds very logical to me.
@@hermanstokbroodHow ignorant and stupid Americans can be never cease to amaze me.
It's an unofficial reseller. Means they probably imported the phone via gray-zone imports. They do those in batches so do not expect a warranty, at least not in the said country.
@@hermanstokbrood Let's move to a different country just to buy a phone. Seems logical.
lol
Definitely seems better than most iPhone 15 Pro Max drop tests I've seen which had major cracks on the rear including the camera module literally detaching from the phone in many of them.
👍
Thanks for the test. Appreciate the straight forward droptest without talking 10mins in between.
Thank you and you're welcome
Brother let me know i have to google pixel i have small budget which one i have to buy... Pixel 7 or pixel 8??
And let me know will all fearures of pixel 8 come to pixel 7 series?
I'm glad to see this as the quality of the recent Pixels had very questionable quality control! Maybe now is the time to try a Pixel out! 😊
👍
I dropped my pixel 6 pro several times and it hasn't cracked screened or anything.
Google really changing the industry!
👍
Wow, I did not expect this Pixel to survive. @PBKreviews, could/did you try connecting the new Pixels to an external monitor? There were some rumors about display output support, but nothing was announced.
Yes I tried and it doesn't support display out
The rumors are that Google is working on it. The hardware does theoretically support it and in the software it's disabled and it's unclear if it does show up anything when enabled with root
Great testing! Keep it up.
Thanks, will do
My Google Pixel 6 Pro with Rhinoshield case once fell from waist height onto a flat floor and broke the edge display twice...
Awesome, watching this from my Pixel 2 with a cracked screen. Can't wait to upgrade.
👍
share your experiences with p 2 .
@@imokay17890 It's holding up pretty well. Does everything except in a slower manner. Photos still look perfectly fine. Battery is also lasting me through the day.
I'm actually an Xperia 1V user but last month someone took it off my hands and ran so I had to get used to my Pixel 2 XL with a smashed screen for the entire month but fortunately everything still works
That gravel test in the Ziploc bag was hard to watch for some reason 😅😂
lol yeah
Are the antenna lines easily scratched? I'm asking cuz I have the same phone and I was rubbing off some dust with a piece of paper and I know I went over the antenna line. So if you can please answer that question I appreciate it.
I'm not sure, but they are not painted on like a single layer if that is what you're worried about. Its a complete solid plastic embedded with the frame so even if it gets scratches or scrapes, that's only the surface of it and doesn't affect it.
@@PBKreviews but it can't be scratched right with a piece of paper or like a piece of paper like material. Like let's say from a lens cleaning wipe wrapper? For example, if I was gently rubbing it over so I can little tiny dust spec out
please do a comparison with the iphone 15 pro too...for both repair and drop test
I wanna ask random question from you does your 8 pro sounds inside when you shake the phone ?
Don't know about the 8 Pro but by 7 Pro does & that is because of the OIS hardware in the camera setup, it's pretty normal TBH
Please give us the most important thing which is the battery drain comparative test.
Please review app loading times since it's still using UFS 3.1
That was the most brutal drop testing that can be done really, no case straight on to concrete at head height.
Where is the drop test for the iphone 15 to compare?
This video deserves way more recognition at it's the only Pixel 8 Pro drop test (without a case or skin) video on CZcams.
I just got a brand new P8P for s good deal. The 9 series dont look appealing to me and especially at full price.
Thank you for doing this video and dropping your beautiful Pixel for us. 🍻
So are you having a giveaway for the phone ? 😊😅
0:45 please here use manual settings on your camera to prevent the auto adjustment of WB, shutter speed, iso.... the background is instable.
Thank your effort and content. ❤
Yeah I need to look into that, generally with a regular camera I take care of it but when recording with phones, some settings just don't work as well.
i watch the video many times to support you . thank you
Thanks 👍
lol that background got me too
lol sorry should have changed the stock wallpaper.
@@PBKreviews No need to apology, you're the hero here still!
Thanks for the video!
You're welcome
I am in love with this device. I mean pixel series
This helps evlevate some of my worries but not all. I just don't like bulky ass cases or bubble filled screen protectors.
You dropping the phone which I admire to purchase but can't afford it .😋
good, although potential internal damage is a threat
You are great man.
Good Job.🎉
Thanks!
I don't think I've ever seen a phone survive that many drops onto concrete.
👍
Thank you!! This is exactly what Jerry rig everything lacks.
You're welcome
Phonebuff has a really good drop test too.
Great job PBK 👍
Thanks 👍
Im feeling more and more confident about my purchase
Good stuff tyty ✌️❤️🍻
👍
How do you like it?
Hello, 😊
thank you for your cool video.
Have a nice day
Hi, thank you :)
Beauty and durability, love it.
Got the 8 pro yesterday. Today it fell off my lap & the bottom corner is shattered with webbing along the entire back glass
Dumb question, but What kind of shoes are those?? I want to get some like that.
I believe the brand was called nobull
Who the heck drops their phone straight face down? Usually your phone drops while being used or while pulling out of your pockets. I hope you can simulate these scenarios.
the flat edges saved the party ... but still people are looking for cuved edges. i mean the dimb (u) ones !
👍
Bro tell me a bit about its software and hardware
My last pixels was P6P but dropped for waist level and black glass shatter secondly always getting micro scratches in my pocket without running on any hard surface, now I’m convinced that I get this pixel and use it as my main phone.
After nearly 2 years with my P6P it also just shatters the front screen hitting a bit of metal under my desk, super upset but let's hope P8P doesn't do the same.... I dont wanna find out for at least 2 more years
It's unwise to use phones without screen protector as no matter the quality of the gorilla glass, it will always scratch from dust which has silica in it which is harder than glass. Screen protectors in most cases also save screen from cracking if the screen protector is edge to edge. They themselves get cracked while absorbing the impact. Screen replacement= 100$ , screen protector replacement= 1 to 2$
@@azeemuddinkhan923 it’s true but curved screens don’t feel nice to me with screen protectors, I’ve been using my iPhone for 2 years without screen protectors and it has little to no scratches.
I honestly just said fuck it and paid big papa Verizon protection money so I'll just walk around caseless and just enjoy it until it gets nuked by my clumsy habits
👍
great work .. Thanks for doing this .. National HERO !
Thanks!
Do you give these phones away by any chance?
Please test the camera after dropping it.
Heck yea im impress google you are killining it i used the 3xl the 5 , now i have the 7 i want to wait for the 9 , 8 is gorgeous so the 9 will be
👍
We love these 🔥🔥🔥
👍
you forgot the small little rock that most of the phone face falls on due to murphys law.
Good work #teampixel
Expand your availability
Nigeria 🇳🇬 inclusive
Thanks for this test
You're welcome
Kunlun Glass on Flat Screen gonna be so strong them phone brands needs to switch!
👍
Wow this could actually be a phone that i consider using without a case 😱
👍
full battery drain compare video with s23 vs pixel 8 vs iphone 15pro
bro wearing a hoodie in 90 degree weather, madlad
lol
Hey, thanks for doing the drop test and it looks like this phone would have the most drops. If you just stuck a case on it, good to know
👍
omg thats insane, I expected it to be destroyed after the first drop, are phone screens this durable nowdays or is this just the P8?
pizel 6 and 7 has curves display. 8 is more durable due to flat screen.
Google has been sponsored this video
Now the question is how do i get this to My country
Such a lovely phone 😢
Back is always covered with cover. The issue is always with screen
built quality was amazing ❤❤🔥
👍
So far so good 🧐.
this was a painful video to watch. recently i was maintaining a very healthy p8 when i was giving it to someone for photo and she dropped it. i investigated it and i found a very, almost unnoticeable white dust like thing literally in between the glass and the corner. and i investigated the rest with flashlight and i didn't even see major damages until i investigated very deeply.
Next time, use a wallpaper that doesnt look like cracked glass
yeah, should have, didn't think about it. Was just the stock one on there.
Just FYI... When you're outside walking on concrete it is not called the floor, it's the ground. Just a little quid pro quo for your video. 😅
Take care, -E
lol thanks, hopefully I will remember it next time! 👍
Could you do a fingerprint speed test? That's the only thing keeping me from buying one
If you do the fingerprint speed test, could you please try it with different moistures/dryness levels. For example set it up with just one normal finger scan then test to open it a few times, then wash hands with soap and water to get rid of the oils and try again. Then maybe try drying finger out with a hair dryer and trying again. I had the pixel 6 and sometimes my phone would lock me out because I had tried to log into it with my finger so many times. I finally figured out it was usually because my hands were just cleaned or dried out due to the low humidity when I went out for a walk in the winter. I would have upgraded to the 7 if they went sonic in the sensor. Was planning on upgrading to the 8 with the rumoured ultrasonic sensor. Now I’m on the fence on the 8 because of the optical sensor.
@@curtisregimbald6423 Yeah, same for me. The P6Pro Sensor really is a discgrace
I would like to do drop test to iphone 15
Was there any point sealing the bag. I thought you was going to pick the bag up and shake it 😂
haha just so it doesn't go all over the table and come out of the bag.
Pixel 6 and 7 pro broke for me. Two mobiles in two years.
Is pixel 8 better? I am too hesitant to buy again and my screen broken again. The phone becomes useless as the sensor breaks with it.
What do you think?
I haven't used it long term, but overall seemed to handle well.
@@PBKreviews both of my pixel 6 and 7 fell a short distance on a little bump on the floor, ended up with broken screen and the touch sensitivity becomes unusable. It starts mixing inputs or the entire screen becomes with greenish brightness.
I love pixel but I am way too reluctant to go for another one as the same could happen to my next phone.
The issue seems to be with the curved edges probably
It's all funny! But not one made battery test yet. What is most important. My guess!
The video before this was a battery test. Maybe not a 100 to 0 but gives you an idea. There just isnt enough time to do everyone's requests.
Hi sir pixel 6 pro still worth to buy
We‘re gonna need the teardown as fast as possible since the Internet goes crazy which sensor is in this thing 😂
Maybe a modified GNV… modified GN1 or GN2 in a smaller size since Google states it‘s 1/1,31".
Can‘t be the same GN1 since they stated in the conference that it‘s a completely new sensor
I didn't take apart the camera since it would render it useless, but showed the numbers on the flex cable if it will help figure out. iFixit or @Wekihome will upload a video I'm sure showing the sensor itself soon.
@@PBKreviewsalright that sounds great. Thank you for your answer!
It's GN1 behind a bigger aperture.
Possibly it is the Samsung isocell GNV sensor
You're welcome :)
i droped pixel 6 on screen many times it's first phone which last me more than 1.5 year
It's already 10x better than iPhone 15 Pro Max
👍
Best Google phone thus far.....most expensive too but still worth every penny.
👍
I won’t be able to stream this right now cuz i’m on data, but your channel, content and the fact that you actually take the time to respond to comments are severely underrated.
Thanks :)
Bro please do the same with Pixel 8
Can u confirm that which camera sensor has used in the pixel 8 pro ,GN 1,GN2 or GN5
GNV
@@shakyawijemunilolyou're 100% wrong
@@Cibran_ and ur 100% right. Please, excuse my tomfoolery as I go delete my comment
As a pro clumsy mf I can assure that it's not the height of fall that matters its a how+luck(which in my case is set to 0 by default).
Also whats that hole on camera glass? Can humidity go through 🤔??or it's a one fat piece that covers sensors?
Lol yup, luck and other factors always come into play. Which hole are you referring to?
It looks like a mic hole, the one in the camera glass
It did appear to have a nasty pit in the rear camera glass unless it was a bit of loose dirt , it did look like a pit though. @@PBKreviews
Oh , could be mate ..... investigation line on the left :) .@@AlvaroPadilla97
yeah the one in the camera glass is a mic hole.
That wallpaper 💀☠️🫡
So you dropped the phone fron that height on concrete face down and it was fine but my phone fell about 3 ft on my bedroom floor and cracked ...the universe can be so hilarious sometimes lol
lol sometimes the way it lands makes a big difference.
Why the heck would you put on a cracked like wallpaper for this test? 😅
It was the stock one on the phone with the theme it had, so it didn't cross my mind at the time :)
Actually pretty impressive
👍
Bro is there any heating issues?
Watch the other videos. Spoiler: not really
