Best coverage of the iOS Ravenscroft 275 so far. Thank you.

Nice comparison. The Ravenscroft 275 has a very rich, pure tone. You should really mute the reverb on your vocal mic when you are talking. It's quite distracting. Just a suggestion. . .

Thanks for a great review! To me the Ravenscroft sounds warmer and cleaner, which I like better, but to each his own. This review was especially valuable to me because I'm once again thinking about going the dreaded controller with software route when performing. An iPad would be the easiest way to go if the software is good enough, and I'm thinking that Ravenscroft could cover piano pretty well. BTW, very nice vocal on Elton John's 'Your Song', I was hoping to hear more. I've subscribed.

Yamaha keyboards are generally brighter than its competitors (Kurzweil, Roland, etc). Maybe the brightness has something to do with stage performance since Yamaha keyboards will get through the mix much easier than other keyboards. And this may be the reason why Yamaha keyboards sell so well.

Not sure if it's the way its set up, but your CP88 seems to have a better dynamic range than the software.

RavensCroft was my favorite iPad piano until a month or two ago. Now Pianoteq 8 is out for iPad, and I think it's even better. However, it's WAY more expensive, so RavensCroft is fine for many uses. Yamaha's CFX cuts nicely in band use, but it's a little bright for solo work, in my opinion. The Bosendorfer samples are better for Jazz or Classical solo work.

I agree. I just did a side-by-side comparison of Ravenscroft 275 and Pianoteq 8 and the Pianoteq does sound better to me. I love the NY Steinway D Jazz piano. A lot of soul. I may end up buying the Steinway D package. When I go back to the CFX it's crazy how much brighter it is. Wow.

      How in android

@@catner70 I use Android On my phone, but iPad is much better supported for music apps. There are a few like FRMS that are on both platforms, but in general, IOS is much better supported for music.

why does pianoteq not sound right to my ears - played the ipad demo today and there was sth about it that sounds grainy (almost like using a low quality pick up on a guitar string)@@RonWarrenmusic57

Wow... great comparison. Do you know if I can hook up my piano to an iPhone 15 (USBc) with Ravenscroft? I don't know how to get the sound out to the speakers since there isn't a headphone jack on the new phone.

@edfritz1569 I would assume it should work with the usb c lightning cable and then the audio should come out through your keyboard outputs
