  • I take the first ride on my 1975 cafe rd350. It just wants to go. I"m running 10 mains, and 25 pilots. I have dg preference pipes and pod filters on the bike which makes the bike a little faster.

Ah, it warms my heart to see some young guys taking an interest in the old 2-strokes. Nothing like 'em. Have fun!

I bought a new RD350 in '74. Made a deal with the dealer, used his shop and replaced the tank, seat, front fender with race type fiberglass out of CA. Expansion chambers, clubman bars. Laced up Boranni rims with Dunlop race rubber. What a blast to ride.

Nice tree fiddy! I had a 400 in highschool and it was the ultimate slow bike fast, but it felt damn fast for its time! My front tire probably had half the mileage and wear of the back tire, because it is a scientific fact that RD front tires openly despise the concept of gravity!

If the clutch is slipping you can use FZR clutch discs. They are the same size but the material on the discs is twice as wide. You should have the upgraded 7 plate clutch in that. The earlier 350's only had a 6 plate clutch.

My first bikes were early 1970s Yamaha twins, so that sound is redolent of my teens.

Those RD’s are no joke, I h bought a brand new 1982 RD 350 up here in Canada back in high school, It would smoke most 750’s of that era, the front wheel didn’t like to stay on the ground.

I think you should go with the brown leather. Also you (in my opinion) shouldn't litter the gas tank with graphics unless its just one Yamaha graphic because it would ruin the vintage cafe look. Your choice though.
