Wow. Wonderful. As a Yankee fan during all -and I mean all - his years on TV I grew up with Phil. And learned a lot about the game. He wasn't always about birthdays, cannolis, etc., etc. God bless him.
1st mystery guest on WML ever - that's cool ! HOF Yankee shortstop #10 who although I never got to see play (I'm 68), had the joy & thrill of listening to on radio & TV. R.I.P Scooter !
What a treasure he was . Miss the Scooter.

Phil didn't disguise his very distinctive voice. He made it too easy for them.
This was taped 2/5/70 and shown 4/17/70. Phil had been the original mystery guest on the Sunday Night WML on 2/2/50.
Yes. And Phil would win the AL MVP that year.
WHEN PEOPLE STILL HAD SOME CLASS !

He’s so humble he didn’t know how to act in the spotlight
He was a huckleberry, but one of a kind great!
I wish I looked that good at 53!
Just happened across his HOF speech. Yeah - a lot cuter here. Never followed him - I'm in Nat'l League town.
This was 1970.
Holy Cow
HOLY COW YOU HUCK A BERRIES
I wish Buzzr would show these episodes
