    The Sox pitcher warming up at 1:32 looks like Eddie Cicotte. ... The closeup of a tobacco chewing smiling player at 2:05 is probably Buck Weaver, Sox 3baseman. He didnt take part in the fix but was banned by Landis anyway for knowing of the fix.

    How could anyone not love Babe Ruth? Well, maybe his ex wives, but he was a good guy at heart. Anyone who loves kids and/or animals has to be a pretty good character.

    This is so sweet! Babe Ruth may not have been the greatest husband, I know he was a womanizer and a heavy drinker, but anyone who cares that much for kids has a good heart. Babe was a good guy at heart, he just had a hard childhood in orphanages and never got to sow his wild oats. But I love him and will always hold him in high regard. It's sweet that he took the time to make all these short movies for kids.

    This was back when people had manners, respect, and willingness to listen and learn. Babe Ruth was a wild man until it came to the kids. He cared deeply for kids and always enjoyed spending time with them. Back then, professional baseball players enjoyed PLAYING the game for fun and not ridiculous contracts for 10's of millions of dollars.

    • @nohbuddy1
      @nohbuddy1 Před 2 měsíci

      It's amazing how you believe lies because you see a cute old film. No they didn't enjoy playing "for fun". They sat out all the time demanding more pay, as they should have since there was no union yet. The media didn't talk about Babe's partying and womanizing. He had a famous "bellyache" that was probably due to over drinking, not hot dogs and sodas.

      @@nohbuddy1yeah, this dude is over romanticizing and embellishing, but that doesn't take away from the fact that Babe Ruth was genuinely a good man with a big heart, despite his flaws. Nobody can claim they're perfect, but they can at least claim that they tried to be decent.

    He could throw hard but most of the comments about Paige by his peers were about his control and ability to hit spots in all parts of the zone. He was smart and he knew how to pitch but his execution was what hitters remember.
