Expect you didn't have there job. Modern warfare wasn't like it was in those days.
That is not job. That has to be patriotism

Great film!!
My grandfather fought at Anzio he shared with me when I was a young boy what he did to survive.I will never forget his hands shaking as he told me the horror he went thru.
He was awarded the purple heart and put it in my hand as he told me the most heartfelt and gut wrenching story I had ever heard.
He fended off a massive attack manning the 30 cal as his entire platoon was wounded or wiped out.
I can still feel his hug after he told me what happened.
He said never see what I had to see my grandson..❤
He died very young at the age of 57 ...the stress and his memory haunted him toll his death but never complained nor told anyone but me what happened..
He was a great man.
Jon Berenthal deserved the Academy Award for this.
All of them did

@@EatMyAxe69 It wasn't stupid! The German soldier was a human being too! He knew if he said something the boy would die. The war created monsters, but there are still human souls underneath those monsters.
I have never seen a world war 2 film shot from the point of view from Tanks. Awesome i think this is a first
This movie was intense, emotional, and exciting. Glad to see a great war movie.
Same & still is a great movie
For the first time ever a REAL Tiger tank in a movie? What an beast! Also is this one of the first movies about a Tank Squad, something different then the standard movies about infantry.
And for people saying "A Sherman beats a Tiger Tank?!?!?". First, we haven't seen the movie yet so we don't know who wins. And yes, a Sherman tank could beat a Tiger tank, the last model M4A3E8, could.
They probably wouldn't even be using the tiger for anythng other than fixed emplacements at this point in the war; fuel was in such short supply and Tigers were known for their gas guzzling nature. (As well as their overly-complicated design.)
***** A battle between a Tiger and T34 wins the Tiger without doubt.
***** Yes, in WW2 it was definitely quantity above quality. Yesterday the Battle of Kursk happenend 71 years ago. The Germans had around 3000 tanks, the Russians 5000. The Russians won, simply because they were with more troops, but not better troops. Germans are better trained and equipped.
***** They won because they had a time to set up massive defence line AND had way more tanks, infantry, airplanes, artillery pieces.
Uni0nDirect0r That's what I said, but they had not better equipment and soldiers
SS soldiers wearing proper camouflage, Pitt holding an Stg44 (1:57), a REAL Tiger tank and Germans popping up from the ground to take out tanks! It's about time a World War 2 movie accurately portrayed the desperate last year of the war with the proper weaponry, uniforms and tactics. I may have to see this many times.
an American tanker using a stg44....
OrileyOwnage When Pitt tosses the gun to the kid, it's an M3 Grease Gun.
Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers were pretty accurate also the movie Bridge to Far
chuck findlay saving private ryan relied on disturbing images but in terms of accuracy it was not a very accurate movie, (the paratroopers landing and the actual beach itself was not truly accurate to Omaha)
Private Ryan didn't show paratroopers landing also they couldn't film at Omaha beach due to it is a historical site.
Every war movie these days is like 3-5 men vs like 200-500 enemies. Why is that?
Because if it was a movie about 200-500 men against 3-5 enemies it just wouldn't be the same.
Well met.Lol
Bob Sloppy That would actually be pretty interesting.
It had to do with proper writing structure. That's why war movies are really hard to write authentically.
Because in WWII, there were a shit ton of senireros where a handful of men/against a few hundred...Especially at Eastern Front. Ever heard of Pavlov's House? During the battle of Stalingrad, a handful of Red Army soldiers under the command of Junior Sgt. Yakov Pavlov defended an apartment block against overwelming numbe of German troops for months and inflict a more casuality to them than they took Paris in 1940.
Some notes for all the people who haven't read enough into WWII armor:
1. No, that is NOT a Firefly. The tank used for filming was an M4A2E8, never actually used by the US army (although the Russians did, and they liked them quite a bit). It's meant to substitute for an M4A3E8, which the army did field. The T23 turret should be an obvious giveaway for the more knowledgeable.
2. Yes, the Sherman would be capable of taking out a Tiger. In fact, ANY M4 would be capable of taking out a Tiger; even the short 75mm could penetrate the sides at ranges of 650 meters. The 76mm can go through the sides at distances of over 2 kilometers with standard ammunition, with the front being penetrable out to about 1 km with an unangled shot (practical penetration range was more like 400 m).
3. Yes, the E8 could survive a frontal shot from a Tiger at close range, particularly at that angle. The lower glacis is thicker than the Tiger I's and well sloped to boot.
Good information👏👏👏👏👏
The sides are thin right? Front and back are the strong points?
Grazie mille per l'informazione
5 years later and I still love this film!
Seeing the amount of hate comments like “hOw CaN tHeIr tAnK bEaT tHe TiGeR”, it’s a movie 🙄, not everything has to be 100% realistic. I don’t know much about tanks, but in films, anything can happen and anything is possible, smh.

@@TheTanker sounds like a good time, how many books did you read 10 times? was this the last time or you gonna spend 10 h more on it, like a freak
Why is everything hateful to you? This is not a fantasy film, it should be realistic. There is a difference. The movie was great, only some things are stupid. It's okay to point out a mistake without immediately interpreting it as hate.
In the movie Sherman didn't take out the Tiger. 3 Shermans did.

All the time I have before my eyes final scene of the film. I cried watching it and I do not hide their emotions. I am Polish and we Poles know what it means to heroism and fight to the end and this film beautifully shows the Polish Army motto: "God, Honor, Country". Sony finished a good job, and although little was published cruelty of the conflict.

Shia Labeouf is my favorite actor. Such an underrated talent. Has a Matt Damon, Russell Crowe and Tom hanks Potential
Bullshit! He's average at best! And he's such a jerk in real life. He just got arrested last night for being his usual disruptive self at a Broadway play. I hope his stupid antics don't bring negative publicity to this movie.

That Sherman is hella' tough. Lasted like 20 shells, and still holding until the end!
the ending is kinda sad
Not kinda. It is sad. But that is the way it was back during the war. You fought with men who became your second and close family, and then all of a sudden, you're walking away without them, knowing what has happened.
Sarah Nurhadi.Not kinda very
I have to tell you War never brings happiness and it never and will never end well
It is sad I almost cried 😭
@GodHey there, big guy! How's it hanging up there?
I watched this one with a friend yesterday, and it was more memorable and intense than the trailer really makes it out to be. The script is good, the performances are commendable (despite some head-scratching choices in the casting department), and nothing in the film seems out-of-place. For those of you who miss the dark, testosterone over-driven style of the mid-1990s, this offers the same, but with better production values. Expect decapitations, liberal use of the "f-word", and lots of brown coloring with an all-around "dirty" sort of feel to it. I couldn't possible have been in a better state of mind to watch this film, as I've been constantly laboring on writing a sci-fi story that adopts the same sort of style and tone (though with a little more color). Sadly, the story is still far from complete at this point.

@@Charlie-xi1kq Thank you for your interest. :-) No, I haven't made much progress with it lately, but I'm currently writing something just as foul-mouthed; this rebellious high school graduate from 1982 decides she's *not* going to go to college, but instead sets off in her convertible to drive ... somewhere, then "party hardy hardy" that night when she quits travelling for the day. It probably doesn't surprise you that things don't go according to plan. This teenager never takes the easy way out, and her own pride and ignorance make typical situations into highly unusual ones.

Btw for people saying Shermans can't beat Tigers, the M3 at the end of the war with the 75mm sure as hell could give them a run for their money lol
Yep they definately managed to up gun the M4 Shermans such as the Firefly and suchlike but they were still prone to be taken out easily due to their weaker armour but the 76mm did help. Also at closer quarters the Sherman turret could traverse a lot faster than a Tigers if they managed to get that close. Good to see a tank flick though.
no offense but they had 76 mm guns not 75's (at least in this time period)
Yeah the sherman had to get like 50 yds behind the tiger for it to have a chance otherwise the sherman is totally screwed. The tigers armour was to much for the sherman to pen it. One time in WW2. True story a tiger tank driver fought against 11 shermans destroyed all of them and returned back to base. The tank was beaten but could still function properly.
As said the Firefly with the 17 pounder (76.2mm) could take out a Tiger at standard distances if it wasn't taken out first though. The 17 pounder was even superior to the 88mm, apparantly.
Noah Parkin
Actually they had both, out of a platoon of 5 Shermans, there would usually be 2 with 76mms and 3 with 75mms. Reason being that the 75mm had a better High Explosive round for anti structure and anti infantry uses.
jon bernthal - shane!!
Shane's grandfather probably.
Vincent Nguyen hey! I like that! Wonder if Shane's grandpa would changes places? Facing flesh eating zombies or Nazis?
***** and Hershel later "loses" his head. yeah. huge twd fan.
He seems to be picking all the small roles but he's picking all the right ones, Snitch with Dwayne Johnson, Grudge Match with Robert DeNiro and Stallone, The Wolf Of Wall Street, with Scorsese and Leo now this with Brad Pitt. He's on a hot streak!
Scott Johanson Jon is slowly working his way up. I'm happy when I see small actors like him getting bigger roles.
I don't know nothing about tanks but Brad Pitt has some awesome hair.
they are implicating that a shot of tiger`s 8.8 would bounce off on a sherman within 20 meters range but sherman`s shot goes through !?!
It does look like they're using an M4A3E8 or Easy Eight, which is an up armored variant of the M4A3 with better suspension, and long barreled version of the 76mm M1 cannon, if they keep the front right or left fenders as the only point the Tiger can hit, they have a better chance at a glancing or bounce. the 76mm will penetrate under the tiger's turrets and hatches and it will take out tracks.
So it's not entirely unfeasible, though it is a bit far fetched for one Easy Eight to take on a single tiger.
Δημητρης Κυριαζοπουλος dude, watch it again, the tiger hits the front armour of the sherman at a crazy angle, its gonna bounce when the front sloped armour is at that angle
Well this indeed is the most intriguing string of comments I've ever seen on a trailer.. so much practical technical knowledge.
-a sincere engineering student
Ben Matthews
that what you see is world of tanks physics in reality in WW2 one tiger hit a T-34 at a big angle shell bounced but due to velocity of the shell the whole crew expect of the driver was badly wounded and unconscious in the end that driver managed to rescue the crew and drive the tank and was awarded....
Its a Easy 8 and the part that is hit is roughly 105mm thick the 88 could pen up to 170mm or something like that. the angled armour makes that 105mm roughly 200mm or something like that it is possible, the 76mm on the Easy 8 will easily destroy a Tiger.
I want to see this movie looks great
I can't wait for it to come out ^^
Jjhohu7iò*i*9bkvp*****
His hair looks amazing!
Must watch!!!
Everybody, I hate to say it but that is a Sherman tank. It is the last WW2 variant, the M4A3E8 Long-barrel. And before I get people responding to me saying, "Oh well a Sherman NEVER could beat a Tiger!" Actually, yes it could. Well this version at least. Its main gun is a 76mm Gun on it, which was previously only used on tank destroyers. This gun did in fact have the power and range to penetrate a Tiger tank's armor, IF it hit it in the right spot, (I.E. Engine Compartment, Tank Treads, Ammo Compartment, ETC). Also don't forget that the Sherman, even with the heavier 76mm gun, was faster and WAY more maneuverable then the much slower and clunky Tiger. Now, I'm not saying the Tiger is a bad tank, cus it is FAR from that, but if two or three M4A3E8's went up against one or two Tigers in a short range engagement, I would probably pick the Sherman's, purely based off of their superior speed and maneuverability. Now, at a a medium-longe range engagement, that is when I would pick the Tiger, due to its far superior armor and its deadly accurate 88mm Gun. But either ways, BOTH are respectively the best tanks each either nation could produce and put on the battlefield. Now, let the hate mail begin!
So...Glorious Basterds?
But better
The tanks look good and realistic so that's a plus can't miss this movie will be there

one of favorite war movie 🔥 ending kind of made me very sad
I love how all the US-War movies begin pretty ok, also during the movie, they are entertaining but then they somehow manage to totally ruin it all with some comedy in the end. Not nice how disrespectful these movies are to the allied soldiers, showing their enemies like they never knew how to fight. In reality, the allied soldiers had to face a real enemy, not something shown in those movies.
Agreed
You know what would go great with this movie? A Video Game about WW2, i know there has been before like BF,COD, Company of Heroes, Medal of Honor, but i want a new one. Unfortunately, the only series that CAN make one is COD, but i don`t see one upcoming soon, hopefully Treyarch has that same idea. What does this have to do with the movie, you ask? Well, this is a movie based on WW2, why not get a video game (a new one) with the WW2 in it? I`d like to see one with new Graphics, sure Graphics aren`t important, but you also don`t want to playing a game looking like Minecraft all the time. But imagine a Game, WW2 looking as realistic as possible? Makes you think like you`re in it, i know i got carried away that last part, but you get me, right?
For now, I play Company of Heroes with the Blitzkrieg mod and patiently wait until Treyarch realizes that they need to make a World at War 2. It could have the main characters be German and Japanese instead of the generic American, Brit, or Russian soldier. Either way I feel you bro.
Treyarch is shit. They'll probably end up having a killstreak reward where you can call an airstrike or some stupid shit.
I'll stick to playing Call of Duty 2; the best FPS ever made.
try enemy front, its not super fantastic but its better than the cods of recent.
Enemy front? Never heard of it, or do you mean Homefront?
Its called Enemy Front and its around world war 2 during the warsaw uprising and you play as a war coispondant that help the Polish and uses gorilla tactics.
one of the best war movie ever made...
War never ends quietly
Has anyone seen it yet? Please give me your opinion about it.
It's good and sad
it's very similar to lone survivor and saving private ryan. I thought it was a great movie, one of the best i've seen in a long time.
Joshua Winn Awesome, I can't wait. I will see it thursday.
I'd say one of the most realistic portrayals of war I've seen. If you ever get the chance to watch this in an IMAX theatre, I would greatly recommend it. There was something about the auditory components of this movie that were simply staggering -- demonstrating, as John_234 puts it, "... the power of a tank."
Definitely check it out!
***** The narrative didn't appeal to me as much as the visual and auditory attributes of the film. It provided a unique sensorial experience independent of the plot/story. To suggest that the movie would've been a greater portrayal of war by casting less attractive actors is a strange hypothesis; however, the ending did lack a sense of realism. Anyways, cheers for your response!
