I love the look of realization that comes on Sheldon's face because through his entire life Georgie was one of the only ones who told him the honest truth of what was going on,he didn't try to sugarcoat anything. To realize that he was protecting him the whole time must be earth shattering
Young Sheldon is so good It's retroactively made this scene even better. You can tell that Georgie would have done just this with how he's portrayed in that show and how the actor plays him. You can tell he would be there for his family along with his others mentioned his own family that we now know about.

I have years of repressed emotions, abandonment issues, and trust issues from my sister. So no. I do think you're wrong on that one.

They created an amazing amount of emotion and feeling between all these different people and especially a character that most people just laughed at for the longest time

He basically became the man of the house, providing an income, taking care of his mom and sister while also trying to take care of a baby and his girlfriend - the kids mother. Then to know he got divorced 2-3 times shows how much Georgie actually did go through after Sheldon left. He basically had to cut his childhood short and be the man of two households.

I never cared much for the few episodes of TBBT I saw as a child, but I absolutely love what Young Sheldon did to flesh out the characters and it makes seeing these scenes with his family in TBBT feel more tragic. Georgie stepped into that role of protector despite having so much on his plate already, which is something I can unfortunately relate to. I had to raise my 3 year old brother while being emotionally abused by my father, dealing with the death of my dog, and dealing with the stress of trying to bring my grades up from sub 20% all when I was just 16 years old. I was already incredibly stressed, but my father and stepmother wouldn't raise my brother, so someone had to step into the role, and even though it wasn't my responsibility, I took up that responsibility much like how Georgie did after his father died. Different situations, but the similarities to strike close for me
It's a shame the TBBT show runners adopted more of a dramedy format only in the last few seasons. Young Sheldon proved that format could carry the series. The setup, joke, punchline, reaction formula of TBBT was often tiresome and made watching more difficult.
