It is great how well even small lights work in a room. I have a few solar camping lights. They live in the bay window of the lounge so they are always ready to go. Give a good light for about 8hrs, then put them back in the window in the morning. Will get a full charge during the day. Have you ever tried a normal torch strapped to a bottle of water? Makes a good emergency lantern. 😉
As a prepper with years of experience in constant power cuts......in South Africa where we have loadshedding, our government's inability to generate enough power, so large areas around the country are switched off on a rotational basis for 2 - 4 hours at time, 1 - 4 times a day, often without power for up to a total of 12 hours a day, the grid equipment is not designed to be switched often, so we often have equipment failures, where I live (rural) can last 2-3 days. We have similar lanterns, but with rechargeable Li batteries via USB. We use 12v LED strip lights, wired throughout the house, running off 12V on a 105AH deep cycle battery, and charging off the power grid, when it is on. Another 200AH battery with a pure sinewave inverter/charger runs another set of lights, direct wifi antenna and routers, along with powering PC, laptops, monitors, printers, and charging the 12V lanterns and 12V hunting spot lights (for security) As backups I have a 10Kva generator, and have an uprated 200A alternator on my vehicle with cable plugs to allow me to run my backup 220V system off my car at idle.
Hahah i have a couple of those and they are brilliant - also in my living room are have put up a long string of white Christmas tree lights from B&M they had alot of light - and they can also run from battery
I've seen these used on Kent Survival really useful and was out in the rain, still worked
God bless you brother! Keep sharing your knowledge with us.
Thanks brother 💪
