  • Despite things not going perfectly, we found our moments...those special times that draw us back out to nature. My brother ‪@alabamafloats‬ and I did an overnight #camping trip on the Buffalo River in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Crazy Horse Recreation Park. They put us in at Trace Creek and we had 17 miles to get back to the outfitter. I was in my #canoe and he was in his #kayak . This was right before we stopped to camp and into day 2.

Hi Dan, a very nice day on the river. I really like the music! The camera suffered in the beginning, how funny that you put it there. David PT

Hi and thanks, Southern Paddler for sharing.
OMG, you did again..poor cam and mount??? or maybe from the last episode. Did your brother lose anything essential to him in the river?
    The water seems very nice.
I like watching the campfire and listening to the crackling...🔥
Yes, probably I cannot sleep over the rocks...I can almost feel my back aching...😅😅
Wow, the beautiful sky in your background...nice---10;48.
Thank you for bringing a nice and exciting paddling trip to my living room. 🙋‍♀🙋‍♀🛶🛶

Thank you so much. The camera pole break was the same from the last video. Twice in one trip would be rough!! Lol!!

Me and some buddies did 50 miles on the Buffalo a few years back. We are hammock guys and were lucky with our rogue camping.
I know you know it now, but the Buffalo is a crazy little river.

It's one of my absolute favs. I've done the 17 miles above Crazy Horse (this trip) and the 10 miles below. I'd love to do 50 on this river. We probably could have found some trees, but it was still a great trip!! Thanks, bro!

That is so true Dan, doing our best to enjoy the good is what will keep us going. Of course learn from the bad but get past it and back to enjoying the good. Part 2 of the river was beautiful as well.

Great message, Dan. The mishaps make for the adventure. And I’ve always thought some hardships make the good times so much better. 🙂

Yes, you're right, Glenna. Once it's all said and done, the hardships don't seem that hard, but they do sweeten the entire experience! :-)

Hey buddy how's it going? Again I'm sorry to hear about your Pole breaking but I'm glad you had your camera tied down man. Sorry to hear the campsite wasn't set up for hammocking. But you made it work out and that's what's camping is about making it work out. That's something I have to keep in mind sleeping on top of the kayak if there's no other spot to sleep at. That's one thing me and my family love about kayak camping you never know how it's going to turn out. You can plan for the best but if it's not the best you have to make it work out the best way you can. But we love Kayak camping regardless of the troubles you go through it ends up being a fun trip and better than being in the house for the weekend. Again I'm glad that you and your brother are safe and it still was a fun trip and you two would do it again. P.S. I found a use inside kayak that was taking on water. A co-worker of mines buddy had the kayak and gave it to me for free & I took it to my buddy so we can try to do this project. It was a little difficult trying to find the spot to put my foot at to cut the section out without my foot getting stuck. We realize that if my foot wasn't a size 15 this would work out a lot better & of my toes wasn't so chubby , fat , wide , & evenly straight across it would have worked out a lot better but we are learning for the first time. We was able to figure out a good position for my foot to be sitting straight up and down & as wide as my foot is to sit comfortably on the foot pedal. I have enough toe space around my foot that it shouldn't be any problems. We welded the section back onto the kayak & welded the spot where the kayak was taking on water & painted the kayak. It's only a 10 ft kayak so it doesn't have a lot of space for camping but I want to use the kayak for a project to figure out if it would work out & it did. I haven't had time to take it out on the water and test it out but I'm looking forward to do that real soon. I thought I just let you know cuz I am excited about this cuz I want me a sit inside kayak so bad.

@@SouthernPaddler thanks you Dan. I'm hoping praying that this will work out so I can buy the inside kayak I want and I will know how to modify it to my needs. This was a good kayak to practice on & if it doesn't take on water I will keep it for a backup kayak for someone to use. I hope you are having a good weekend buddy.

WOW...such a cool trip even with the spills. Glad all are safe. What camera were you using on the port side of the canoe?

Thank you very much! Both cameras on this trip were GoPro Hero 8 cameras. I've since upgraded to Hero 10; I'm still getting used to them.
