I think a war happened in my Lava Eel fishpond. I got requests for mega bombs and iridium bars, and next thing I know 5 spicy eels were ready for collection.
That's some "What did you do, eels? EELS. WHAT DID YOU DO?" kinda moment.

Absolutely unmatched chemistry
The fish in Stardew Valley are intelligent enough to request improvements to their homes. They will tell you what would make their home more comfortable. Some just want some pizza to liven up the place. Some, like the Therm-fish, don't deserve this life of luxury. But don't worry....
You can eat them raw.

Not sure why is it weirder for fish to ask for another species of fish when it's normal for a lot of types of fish to eat other fish. Asking for coffee beans, pizza, quartz, that's the things that don't make sense to me.
Do people hear fish eating fish and inmediately think cannibalism? Even though they're different species of fish?

- quartz let’s them decorate. If the fish can be in a gang, maybe they are also into new aged healing.

@@sassy_sasarai4090 honestly the fish asking for pizza is less weird than asking for another fish. Or a specific stone (like mudstone) or a diamond. Because everyone does like pizza.
It's worth noting that a starfish is in a completely different animal phylum than fish. It'd be like a human asking for a snail, theyre completely different. Even the fish asking for a human would be less of a difference
You should do an animation where you deliver a villager an item they desperately requested, received with joy and gratitude and then the complete 180 when you promptly give them the same item as a gift and they're like "wtf, why would give this?"

Man I had a fish pond for these ink squids and they wanted an ocean stone. Im year six, so I have a very big gem collection already but there was no ocean stone. So I went into the mines and the skull caverns, I cracked open every geode I could find and it took me THREE weeks to find this damn stone!
I get the big ass fish tanks and just trap one of em all forever and ever in a shed I don’t visit ever except to add more fucking fish lol 😂
Gotta love therm! He did a great job. Really manifested how the fish in the ponds can ask for some strange crap and how that little exclamation mark can be so annoying.

its easy to forget that the wizard gave you the ability to speak the language of the juminos, explaining why you can understand the fish, that bear, and the other bear.

It's about time someone else pointed out how ridiculous and creepy the notion of talking fish are - all the better that it was the incomparable Matt McCleskey.
Now, someone just needs to make a video pointing out how eerily cheerful the fish are, despite the fact that we harvest them for cooking...
I think the ability to understand animals is because of that mixture the wizard gave you so you could understand the junimos. Also explains why you can understand the bear (and maybe the hat mouse?). No idea why your pet and farm animals don't speak, though.
@MegamanXfan21xx maybe the animals have to be endemic to Stardew Valley? There could be something special about the valley itself that allows the animals that are native there like the fish and bear to communicate with magic, and animals that come from other places don't have it? I dunno lol trying to come up with some explanation

This honestly makes me consider starting up my safe file again so i can build a shit ton of ponds.

Fish: "Well, _I_ need to spend six months in the Atlantic ocean eating krill so that during my breeding season I can swim upstream to the mountain lake with five other fish ladies and fertilize their eggs in clutches of seven hundred each and then *die* as my lifecycle is completed. So unless you can help with that, I think you should be happy I'm producing eggs year round now for some reason... or at all. HHHUUURRRGHHH!!" The rainbow trout asking for honey became a sort of inside joke with my partner and I. I also died when the squids started requesting emeralds and shit. I couldn't believe when the fish started fucking talking to me. Best part of the game.
i had no idea about the quests until i finally got a fish pond for the fish farmer’s bundle, put a pike in it, and they started asking me to chuck in weaker fish for them to devour
I got a tuna pond so I could make fish tacos for Caroline more easy. Turns out it's way easier to just go to skull cavern and run from the flying monsters 🙃
