Lovely review; concise, clear and accurate. Thank you for providing one of the very few English language reviews. I've got one on order and after 25 motorbikes, I'm really excited about trying something genuinely different. I sat on the ADV at the NEC and you're right, it has genuine presence, is built very well and should be really usable and fun. Great value, too.
Probably the nicest scooter review ever of a big scooter by MCN, must be because your getting older and see what us maxi riders have said about how good they are for years but always mocked by bikers with geared bikes irrespective if we had a geared bike previously or have a scoot in the garage alongside a geared bike.
Wouldn't call it a big scooter, that title goes to the Xadv, Tmax and Forza 750.
Hi handsome DG. Do you believe this xadv 350 can start and finish a USA scooter cannonball run(4589 mile trip without any issues?) Thanks
After test riding a bmw c400x, realised what i had been missing (a scooter) so ordered one of these off spec. This is the first uk review and looks like i made the right choice! The c400x is a great bike but £2k more for similar spec, little storage and a history of reliability issues. The adv 350 shares much with the forza which is bullet proof. Looking to ride it from uk to norway and really looking forward to it.
I’ve got the 2021 C400GT & love it 👌🏻👍🏻
I ordered one as well before test 🙂
I tested x-max 300 (I do not like seat stamping my back, not enough space for legs). I tested c400x - great one but no space under the seat, no legroom space progress comparing to x-max. I tested Forza - best riding comfort.
@@cloggsy1971 sadly it is not the real BMW, BMW does not produce scooter or the engine for scooter itself
@@podunkman2709 Its funny how different riders view scooters. I test rode both the Forza and the xmax300, having a 33 inch inside leg I found the xmax had slightly more leg room. I,ve tried the adv350 for size in the showroom and for me the xmax tops out for legroom out of the three.
@@sundaruu666 The BMW c400 is built in China by Loncin.
I just got the ADV 150 and I love it, only issue is it feel comfortable at around 40-45 mph. It can go 60+ but it takes awhile. Had they have made it a 200 or 250 it would be perfect. I will definitely be a buyer if the 350 becomes available here.
no way it is THAT slow, i drive a 90cc kymco agility and it goes 90 km/h (56 mph) with no issues at all
Excellently reviewed, tremendously informative and honest. Greatly appreciated. Thankyou.
So practical, convenient, inexpensive to run and maintain.
Why do we ride such HUGE bikes when this will be enough for 95% of the time?
With all the potholes, speed traps etc.this will do me in future.👌
Fun is the only answer. Even though manuals is not absolut fun. I always choose matics. Scooters let me enjoying sceneries than manuals
Why do we even ride? we can walk :D but we do what we do, because we can
I've been saying the same thing for years. "Less is More" 👍
Hi handsome, DC. I agree with 90% of your comment. The other 5%would be personal preference, just to have that extra CC engine.
Motorcycles are better balanced due to not having the engine on the swinging arm. Fuel consumption is better with a manual than cv gearbox. Better access to do repairs and less plastics to get damaged in a spill. Larger front wheel for tackling potholes compared to most scooters. Centre tank gives feeling of security and being part of the bike rather than perched on it. Some scooters have miserably small fuel tanks
I'm more excited for this than I am about stuff that costs a lot more and has a lot more HP. I just love things that work.
Really enjoy your reviews! They are completely relevant to the product - none of this: "it's too slow", "can't get your knee down" etc etc - it's a scooter (and probable commuter bike) and you said what potential buyers wanted to hear - economical, lots of storage, adjustable screen etc etc.
I agree , that is why I feel like a 2022 150adv is right for me, I would like a xadv350,it give me more options while on the road. Thanks
The best part is the look of it. Agressive and something different, than the rest of the big scoots. Soon I gonna pick up one. Cheers for the review!
Great review, clear, concise and informative. Thank you 🙏
I wish they offered the 350 ADV here in the states. A great stablemate for the Himalayan. I’m always amazed that they aren’t more popular.
Yes, why can't we just ordered one and have it mailed to us, lets get rid of the shops.
I think in time manufacturers will realize the profit potential for bridging this gap in the market for quality scooters in North America. They're more approachable for beginner riders in an industry where new ridership is falling, in part due to younger people being intimidated by manual transmission bikes. The more I read about these Honda ADVs and the corresponding comments sections, the more hopeful I become that they will eventually be offered here in the US. And I for one def can't wait!
@Jeffrey Hurst In the US you can buy the Piaggio Beverly 400, much better value scooter for the same price as the Honda ADV350.
@@billadmond9450 unfortunately the closest Piaggio dealer is 84 miles away and I would probably pass a dozen Honda dealers enroute. I would love to give one a try.
@@jeffreyhurst9552 The dealer where I bought the Beverly is located 70 Kms far from me and it's the only one in my state in Australia.
Peter Stevens, they are cheats, ruthless and uneducated pigs but I had no other choice because I really like the Beverly.
In fact, for the first service I went to an independent mechanic (to stay within the warranty terms) and for the other services I can do them by myself.
I also found a very very good generic Doctor and I do NOT care if the clinic is very far from me!
I have a 2011 Kymco People GT300i i bought in 2012. It was a demonstrater at the dealer with low mileage, it was about 450km/280mls. It now has nearly 25000km/19000mls on the mileometer. It had very little problems up until now. One broken luggage hook😉. What i really like about it is, when Car drivers think i have a measly 125cc scooter, but then i'm way faster than they expected. On the Autobahn it goes around 150 to 155km/h, about the same as the ADV350. What is a bit annoying is that the fuel light goes on, when there's more then three liters left of the nine that fits into the tank.
For the viewers that where in the British Army and where stationed in Germany, I bought it from the Honda dealer in Paderborn.
Hi (handsome), DW. I would like to see videos and hear your stories with the kymcoPeopleGT300i. If you have time can you add a link to your channel or start a channel? Thanks and enjoy, English Breakfast tea.
Nice review sir! I really like the look of this scooter. Might have to arrange a test ride.
Hey Honda! Bring this to the States!
THE ONLY THOROUGH AND PROPER REVIEW ON THIS SCOOTER. GOOD JOB.
Would love to add the 350 to go along with my ADV150 if only Honda would bring the 350 to N. America.
Yes please. Love my 150 but the extra built in storage (also like what I’ve seen of this OEM top box) and power would be just perfect.
Great review. Not a scooter man myself but these maxi scoots do make a lot more sense around town than my 800cc tall rounder. Practical, feature rich and well built. Quite tempting.
Yes. I love scooters than manuals these years. All I need to do is trothel and brake no shiftings. My eyes can enjoy sceneries around me
😂 I'm getting 1 this year.. Never been a bike person but I'm done with gas prices and my truck!! This is all I need personally for work or whatever..
From years of really heavy stop & go traffic, including on highways. One thing I learned. Nimble and agile do make for the best rides on that condition. The medium size scooters (250~400) simply blast the competition on those conditions!
I'm not kidding, waiting with your "small" 250/400 scooter that the guy. With the way more powerful 1000cc full of RRRRR's, get out of your way!
It's a rare combination between sarcastic and almost funny! Truth be told the moment the road opens, they're gone. But like said going around a few cars on another lane. Just to overtake the powerful but slow moving motorbike... ;-)
I've gave up on bigger 4 cylinder motorbikes years ago. Truly wise decision, at least for my conditions. Not having calluses on my hands, from riding naked bikes at higher speed it's another advantage! LOL 😂
Im looking into this as a second bike for job commuting and around town riding when I dont feel dirty to carve up some roads.
A big selling point for the Honda is the 8k miles service intervals. Compared to the Burgman's 3.5k or the Kymco's 3k, it represents a big saving in running costs.
Now that represents an incredibly important detail. More of a shout from Honda saying "quality". Hopefully a justified claim.
Since I do all the maintenance on my mechanical "stuff". The dealer maintenance prices don't affect me much. At least directly! Nice!
If you do less than 8000 miles per year you still need an annual service, so not such a big money saver as you might think. I do 8000 to 10000 miles per year it's fine for me. 😁
@@dragoclarke9497 I cover between 10-12k miles a year which is why it's a big selling point for me. 10k miles on a Burgman = 3 services = ££££
@@ericthexm I was a Honda ADV150 owner, only sold it because it struggled to maintain the speed limit up into the mountains... No larger displacement bikes here sadly.
Fantastic machines... As you are right, they are rock solid reliable, I did probably 30k kilometers without skipping a single beat.
Will do it for me. Went to Portugal on my RE Himalayan. Had to have a premature service before leaving, and did 3,465 miles, so needed another on returning. It's a great bike for its intended use, not a the best for long distance. Came back by boat from Santander. Going to buy a Forza. Can't decide between Forza or Adv. Hope to test ride both. Any opinions as to which for long distance tour?
just got one in grey colour.really pleased, it rides nice, swapped in a sh 350 and pcx 125 they too were lovely bikes to own. if m c n says they are good they are good.
Now that Neevesy has given this the thumbs up, I expect Honda to sell a bucket load more of these.
He's very critical if it's not spot on which I like.
Excellent quality review ! 🙏
Great review I will be ordering one tomorrow just striking up a deal with my local Honda dealer thanks mcn
Hi how do you strike a deal, dealer is unable to obtain a single scooter from Honda. What a shame. Let's go Honda. B
They have come a long way and are a very practical comfortable option.
Brilliant presentation. Thanks.
Thanks for the honest review. You cover the most important elements of the bike.
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent review, and all on familiar Peterborough area roads. Seriously tempted to just order one as no showroom bikes around here.
Ordered in March '22, recently been told to expect a September delivery...
I have the X-Max and I can say that it does everything at least as good if not better than my Africa Twin does inside the city. These maxi scooters are true work horses. They consume very little, cheap to maintain and if you need you can even go on small trips with them. Also just install an apron at winter times and you are protected from all elements too. How good is that! You do whatever you want to do and do not get covered in mud at all.
I feel you my friend. Scooters spoil me in these years.
have same combination africa and x max 300 , would you think xadv 350 would be better then x max ?
It would be nice if some of these were sold in the US.
I have the 350 forza, (2021) I love it... I have had many many bikes over the years, and i have to say this thing is in my top 3 of all time. in this version, it seems to have better suspension than my bike, and it would be amazing to see some better suspension on the next gen forza 350. and ideally cruse control in the future.
I have a Forza 350 as well and do like it but after riding motorcycles for over 40 years have been dissapointed by the suspension paticulary at the front. This looks a great improvement and think i will be looking at getting one.
@@searcherfor9 In regards to the suspension, I suppose it comes down to build budget on Hondas part. I personally think that money spent upgrading the Forza suspension is better money spent, than on the adv. They are totally different bikes, and I like the Forza for the wind protection. So I will likely go down that route this year. The front forks need a steering damper as well, and they can shake when the bike is loaded.
@@dean-does-stuff-81 I have done over 12000 kms with the wife on the back, topbox, panniers and the under seat space full and have never had the front shake but the front does crash down potholes. I think you might improve it with a front fork kit and different rear shocks but i don't believe it will be as good as having proper motorcycle front forks as the adv has compared to the scooter forks of the Forza. As for the weather protection i live in Thailand and welcome some wind flow!
@@dean-does-stuff-81 I agree
It's a great scooter. I hope there's an update coming for 2024. Since this is not a budget scooter , Honda could improve the LCD to TFT, address the problem of dust build-up in the belt drive, maybe a slide adjustment on the seat so riders can find comfortable reach and legroom because seat shape holds you in one position. And maybe air vents to draw warm air from radiator onto the rider in winter?
The one outstanding feature here are the naked handle bars.
Scoots are great for commuting. I still use one and keep my Striple 765 for fun.
Nice , and off a very respected tester.
Professional review - short, full of content.
How tall are you? Can u compare legroom with Forza 350?
Best
Foot position is very similar to the BV 350 (Beverly). Unfortunately , I am cramped without the ability to change foot positions. I am on a Burgman 400 simply because I have more room to stretch out. I do love the quality of these Honda bikes.
Great vid. Ive never thought about scooters before so how do they work? Are the breakes operared by the levers on handle bars and how about chain maintenance (please say there is non).
Michael, here in France the cream on the cake is Honda give us a 5-year warranty. Competitors give 2 years it's a no brainer.
Love both cc models but the baby brother is a lot more affordable and still fun
these would be VERY popular in the US also
Honda sells the X-Adv (really expensive) and its much smaller 150cc sibling, based on the PCX down here in Brazil. The 350 would be a nice option I think, but there are only talks of the Forza 350 being launched. Great review.
Kinda wished the fron wheel was a bit bigger, shows the beautiful rims.
Nice review. Honda Thailand just launched the 350 recently and are now making deliveries. However I have an order in for the XADV placed 6 months ago. I'm being told maybe next year! Thats some serious supply chain woes! 😞 The demand is indeed high but Honda is somehow producing some models in quantity but not others. The DCT related models are more impacted. But the 350 looks quite appealing as well. The scooter segment is really coming into its own.
After having a SH125 I have realised how good a scooter is for simple commuting. Had the X-ADV but it was too big to navigate traffic in town. This ADV seems to provide best of both. Ordered and can’t wait. Plenty of stowage and love the idea of quality shocks. Decided on this over the Forza just for that.
Did you compare it directly to the Forza ?
Same as you, I was forced to use a Forza 125 for 3 months as my bike had been ran over and ended thinking about complementing it with a scooter. The Forza however had a very rough ride, and I see ne reason why its 350 cousin would be better in that regard.
How has this ADV 350 been treating you ?
thk you for the perfect review , beleive we'll have them in Turkiye in 2023 , now enjoying a x max 300 and planning to go for one , hopng not to be very expensive , any way , one question , how is the weather protection , the shield in the front ok to go up and down but sideways yr shoulders seemed to be vey much in the wind and the legs not seem to be tugged in that much , bdywork seems to be angled outways and should not have tht much of wind , what do you recon on that , and are there wind deflectors as accesory
In Thailand, some 2nd hand adv 350 (low mileage) cost more than a brand new one as the waiting time is 3 months for it.
did you mention the price?
Two minor points: there's only one USB C port and you can quite easily fit two XL helmets in the storage. It's a wicked fun bike...I'm coming from a 650 Suzuki Bandit and have also had the privilege to enjoy some of my dad's bigger, sportier and more luxurious bikes and I'd chose the ADV 350 any day. Wicked fun to ride around the city and in the twisties, comfortable on long journeys and very practical to boot. Plus it looks wicked, I've got it in red!
When is the ADV 750 & 350 gonna be available in US?
donno y but i just love these big scooters!
My dream maxi scooty.❤
If you have a lower budget, look for a Piaggio X10 350. Designed in 2012, way ahead of it's time. Check out the spec.s and reviews, handles great, wheel size of today's competition and has a little over 33 bhp from it's super smooth engine. Quality is very good. I've had one for the last two years and very pleased with it.
Or the X10 500. They're only around £3k
Great review. I'm not interested in geared motorcycles but maxi scooters like these I would love to be able to ride. Unfortunately nowhere, at least in Scotland from what I've been able to find, cater for anybody like myself who would love to have an automatic only license or even go for automatic only A2. Stuck with either CBT or A1 license up to 125cc only. Surely the scooter market would thrive here if they made it more accessible and not mainly focused on geared motorbikes.
I did an auto a2 licence and bought a Forza 350. Shame about the lack of training schools. I eventually found one after searching for months but has to travel 2hrs a day to get there.
@@richfords3817 Glad you were successful Rich. What motorcycle training school provided that service and where if you dont mind me asking?
@@stevendavie7621 I did it at Wembley, training school was Lightening Motorcycle Training.
Curious to know why couriers get bullied around town in your opinion? I use a Honda PCX in Ireland.
Just Bought one cant for it to arrive
Just curious, how tall are you? It looks great with your riding possition
What are the valve adjustment intervals?
I love that helmet!
Trying lay eyes on one of these bikes in London . A mission and a half !
do you think it is better than the xmax 300? Can it absorb the holes in the asphalt well?
This needs the dct transmission and dual disc's in the front. Then it would be an awesome bike for the Asian market
Coming to the USA?
My next scooter
Saw another video where a second full face helmet was fit into the front section under the seat
It definitely fits two helmets medium/large. I think the higher vents on the rider's helmet might be the issue in the video
I am comtemplating between this or the new tmax. Which one should i go for ? 🤔
I've been considering buying a scooter for a bit now and was just about sold on an Xmax before I found out about the ADV 350. Now I can't get it off my mind. Even considering buying abroad and importing. Does anyone know if the ones being sold in the Asian and European markets meet the US emissions standards/any other requirements necessary to own one here?
Is it big enough for a 6.2 tall and 260 pounds heavy rider?
Looking to downsize from a NC750X and looked at the Forza but the endless reports of a crashy front end put me off, I wonder if the USD forks on the ADV are an improvement. That said I much prefer the dash on the Forza.m, much classier.
I Love my Honda Forza nss 300! I’m thinking about a new ADV 350 or Forza 350 because of the larger windshield
Kymco DTX 360! I'm getting on a bit and a 350 supercool scoot would suit my leisure and touring needs better than a touring motorcycle!
in Indonesia we have the 150cc version since 2019
I need one in California!!
Very nice
I have a 400CC Majesty and I cannot see wanting anything more.
Please tell me theres a way i can import this!?!?!?
Please bring this ADV 350 to America Honda! At least we’re getting the ADV160 next year but we need the 350 because it’s amazing
adv350 vs forza 350
im torn and dont know which one to get
Can I get this imported to NYC?
Valve type.- shim or locknut?
Do you'll ship
Have Adv350 only thing i miss is electric Cruise control on the highways.
would this work for a tall person, 6'3"?
What do you think of maxi scooters?
Excellent and sadly, many motorcyclists miss a trick by looking down on scooters and those that ride them
If I was commuting into London or similar, I'd have one without a shadow of doubt. Rail season ticket - circa £4k/year, keep bike for 3 years - it may well have 60,000 + miles on it, but it's still got a value (unlike three used annual season tickets) + 80mpg means in and out of London for less than a fiver and free parking.
Commuted for years on all sorts motorbikes. Sold my NC750X DCT last year bought Forsa 350. Its the dogs boll** So easy to ride in heavy traffic. Done 5k since June last year on Jasper the funky moped lol
I would call the 350 a mid size scooter. Great bike, even better if it was a 500 single.
As a daily rider and/or only bike, I think maxi-scooters don't get nearly the respect they deserve. They are supremely practical and, unless you want to race "real" motorcycles, are superb for all-around riding.
Any views on what this is like 2 up?
The Honda ADV's closest competitor in the North American market would be the Piaggio BV 350: less weight than a 400, more punch than a 250.
6:30 in our country a pizza delivery has a 210cc nmax engine tune by stock or racing ecu well thats a lil bit bully
What about the piaggio beverly 350
Was advised to place a deposit on one, 6-8 weeks wait but could be more like 10. No demo, and Honda to raise price in Q2.
hello everyone.can ride with CBT with over 25y in UK?THANKS MCN
No, you can only ride up to a 125cc bike on a CBT in the UK
It's a Honda and you can't never ever go wrong with a Honda period.
So what's it like 2 up? that rear seat looks tiny.
I’m led to believe you own a TMax. How does this compare. Regards John.
Does anyone know if this is coming to the US?
No.
Honda won’t ship to the United States but hopefully that will change. Would like this exact color ADV350 if your watching Honda!
nice review! you missed to add some small gravel part into the review. btw, what is rider / reviewer's height? I'm 188 cm tall, interested how's position for such a height, if anybody can share, thank you"
Sono alto come te mi trovo bene però io faccio viaggi di un ora al massimo …sella risulta dura
I’m not against scooters, had a 50cc in high school for just getting around. But as an ADV bike owner, branding a scooter as “ADV” kinda has me triggered lol.
Here in South East scooters and underbones outperforms those mud crawlers. Thats why ADV 150 is one of our favorite scooters 😁👍
Hope they sell it in the US.
This is a complete package
What about in the rain do they slip all over the place? so you have to drive like you're on ice. what do you think, please
The Karoo tyres are excellent in the rain and the ADV handles wet roads well and better than many motorbikes that can feel vague at the front
The ADV350 has been developed and produced in light of the ADV150’s success, not the X-ADV750
Not really. It has more common with x-adv than with 150cc adv.
@@podunkman2709 what like the engine?
