Another happy (female) viewer! I'll try one of these options tomorrow, if it's sunny and daylight is streaming through the kitchen window so I can turn the kitchen lights off and see what I'm doing to remove the broken bulb. Thanks so much for your tips!

Thank you for this informative video. My husband was ready for a surgical removal with all his tools he readied to extract the remaining piece. He was dumbfounded when I was able to remove a broken bulb that had the flat filament exposed. After moving it back & forth, the bulb loosened and I was able to twist and remove it! I found your video very helpful!

thank you so much!!! I'd been waiting weeks for my husband to replace a bulb in a kitchen fixture, and when he didn't, I tried - that's when I saw it was broken! I searched on Amazon for a tool to remove that metal part, but none of them got very good reviews, so I googled and found your video! I went to my tool bench (yes, MINE), got a pair of needlenoses, and voilá! YOU helped me do it! :D

I'm so glad I found your video, I had two ceiling fans with Broken Bulbs in the socket and I thought I would have to replace the entire ceiling fan because I could not figure out how to remove the bulb. I was able to removed both with very little trouble wiggling back-and-forth as you showed in the video and it worked great thank you so much, and please keep posting these useful videos.

Great tips and demonstrations! Looked this up today for a bulb broke within the socket and didn't remember what to do. Didn't want to use my potato so the needle nose was a charm. Thanks and please continue making these videos...

Thanks so much for this info. This wasn't the first site I visited in my search for suggestions, and no matter what I tried, I couldn't remove a corroded outdoor light bulb that had broken off completely. After watching this video I crimped and crimped the metal collar till I could eventually pull it out. Screwed a new light bulb in, and it worked perfectly. Now I need to get some teflon or silicone spray so the base of the light bulb I just put in can be sprayed before it corrodes and gives me the same problem all over again.

Thank you so much!!! I tore off most of the base of a decorative bulb trying to get it out and thought the needle nose pliers pushed open wouldn't work, but I tried it and it did! Can't believe how fast I was able to get two broken bulb bases out with this method. I was about to sacrifice a potato. 👏

Omg! Thank you sooo much for posting this video for me. I turned off the electrical panel, and I followed your very detailed instructions. I'm right handed, but the way the light was set up on my front porch. Whew! I worked it, worked it, worked it, and it finally started to move. I was super excited. Thank you very very much. I did it yall

Thank you so much. I had a bulb shatter in my fridge and when I looked closer, both bulbs were shattered and only the metal part remained. With the help of your tip on using needle nose pliers at around 5:00 in to the video, I was able to get the metal part of both bulbs out in about 10 minutes. I salute you sir!

Hi, your video has helped me immensely. I've been trying to remove the old bulb stems in two rooms, in vain. I came across this wonderful video of yours, packed with fun and real advice. And guess what? In a matter of minutes I managed to clear the old remnants and replace them with new bulbs. Hooray! We have light in the house again. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

OMG that 6 min hack with the base only helps so much. I bought a cheap bulb from Dollar Tree and the glass part was the only part to come off. I was pisses I tried all sorts of things but the way you did it made so much since. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. You're awesome. 😇
