- South Wales Sea Fishing at Peterstone in Newport. A favourite South Wales Cod fishing mark of mine, particularly during Winter and Spring. When it comes to Riverside With Me Fishing spots, this one has the power to make you feel good, due its spectacular scenery and amazing wildlife, there’s always something to hear and see and it does wonders for mental health. The Severn Estuary has been an important part of my life for the past 37 years and I hope it will continue to provide me with many hours of joy! Join me as I fish a big spring tide on a cold morning, 10 months on from when I fished it last!

I can't always rely on the fish and so I focus on the deeper side of angling, such as the scenery and the reminiscing etc and do my best to make a relaxing watch. As already said best channel on you tube your like all the normal fishermen amongst us we blank more than we catch we don’t all have to catch 20 dogs six eels etc keep up the good work first person I look for.

Well said Gareth, fishing for me is about the whole experience, the planning making rigs getting bait,and being out and next to nature, catching is a bonus but it's not everything! If anything for me, it makes me question my fishing, and gets me thinking what could I have don't different, its all part of the enjoyment of the sport, you never stop learning, its why it's called fishing, and not catching.

I'm not dissing other channels, there are a lot out there that will only post when they catch, because they haven't got it in them to create content without fish. You have though buddy. As you know, a lot of work goes into making these videos and it's sometimes a little demoralising when they flop a little due to a lack of fish. I don't mind blanking but the CZcams algorithm doesn't like it ha! My loyal subscribers watch the videos regardless and I guess that's what matters. Yes you're right there, some others channels won't show the blanks but I think it's important to show them as it's real life and a part of what we do. To be honest, the fishing where I live is nothing compared to what it used to be and so there's going to be plenty more blanks ha! So often you view a fishing video and all you get to see is the water and close by shoreline. Love watching the area around the venue as it gives you a chance to get to know the area, any chance of showing the parking area you use even if it's on google. Keep them coming even without the fish as we all know what's its like to blank but still enjoy the experience.

Gareth, I’ve never thought that fishing was about the catching of fish, and I’d like to think that the vast majority of your subscribers feel the same way. As you have said so many times, it’s about getting out, enjoying the surroundings, and just taking a break from whatever your life may be throwing at you at that particular time.
Definitely Gary, you're spot on there. My subscribers enjoy the videos regardless of what I catch or don't catch and that's reassuring. For me nowadays, it's just about getting out there and being next to to the water. When you upload a new video, CZcams also pushes it out to non suncribers but if gets turned off because of no fish, CZcams instantly stop promoting it. As you say, the mystery of knowing or not knowing what's out there is what appeals. Not to worry about blanking 3 times on the bounce, I blanked 5 consecutive weeks last year ha! All good fun though! Thank you for another video. I will watch no matter if its a good days fishing or a blank. I'm from Ireland myself but I lived over in Wales for about 4 years I was working as a Head chef in Haverfordwest. I Fished the river that runs through the town. I was told it was really good for bass and seatrout. I had 6 blanks in a row and was going to give up on it. I just thought I'd give it another go. That morning I had 6 bass nothing special biggest was just going on 3lb and I had a surprise catch a lovely mullet 4lb 2oz on ragworm couldn't believe my luck. PB for me by miles as I had only manged a 1lb 4oz on bread from a harbour wall back home in Ireland. I continued to fish that river over the few years I was there, managed 27 bass biggest 4lb 7oz 6 mullet but never managed to beat my PB 3 seatrout and 2 flounder. So as you say never judge a spot by a blank some days the fish just aren't there.

Great video once agen never worry about the numbers a fue times I have also tried filming fishing videos for CZcams and it takes alot of time and effort to film keep doing what you are doing and people will always come back you have a great channel and in my opinion best sea fishing chanal on CZcams fishing is so much more than just catching fish
