Do you have any suggestions for the type/brand that l should consider when choosing a GPS for my tractor trailer? I'm new to the industry of trucking.
I use the large non camera Garmin Diezl and Google Maps on the larger iPhone 6. I have them mounted side by side on the dash. Best combo I have found. These trucker GPS units are good, but not as good as Google Maps. But, use common sense, you are an oversized vehicle, not a car. I have been out here 27 years and still learning.
How has this truck held up for u over the years? Have u had any major problems?

whats the advantages and disadvantages of having the low profile tires? over the 295's size. does this come with engine break? you never mention the engine break in your videos is that something thats just comes standard equip. is it the little handle on the right of the steering wheel or is on the dash? also the freight liners has the 2,4 or 6 cylinder button on the dash, does this have the same feature? I've only driven freightliners so i've gotten used to a few of there features, but now you have me sold on buying my first pete.
+Gilbert V No specific advantage just trying to match up tire/transmission/ and gear for optimum power and mileage. 2-4-6 engine brake is standard and has been for quite some time. The switches are on the dash to the right of the steering wheel. Let me know when you are ready to buy. I would love to put you in a Pete!

Here is a tip.If you want the truck to crank better turn the key wait 10 to 15 Seconds then crank it

Not meaning better I was meaning easier so when you turn the key wait 10 to 15 Seconds then crank it the electrical system is activated already so the battery sends a stronger charge to the starter so it cranks easier.

+Steve Carbone you still have to let everything cycle through before starting a diesel truck! I have a 2016 and I have been driving trucks since 1995 so I definitely know that you can't just instantly turn the key and start a Diesel engine
Then how did I do it? Safe to say with my Cummins training and my Peterbilt training I am up to speed with the operation and starting procedures of my product. I appreciate your input though. If this was 15 years ago or if this engine wasn't already up to operating temperature you would be correct.

The thing that people don't think about is... yah you might save a few bucks on mileage with a plastic truck... but when you go to re-sell it, you get diddly-squat for it. So a Hood will get a little less fuel mileage, but when you go to re-sell it, you make WAY MORE on the sale paying you back for the lesser fuel mileage. Plus, you get to ride in CLASS and all the other cool things about a hood! But most people have NO brains to figure these things out. Plastic trucks are a WASTE of Money!!

+Bubba Cash Not really true. That mattress is is a very high end version and I encourage you to check one out. I have that exact mattress in my RV and I love it. As far as a microwave, it has always been provided by the owner and never an option from Peterbilt.
