The e-Golf looks so fresh in comperison with the leaf
Everything else aside, your spontaneous home grown sound effects/grunts are the best in the EV-tester business, Björn. Maybe If they will make another Police Academy movie, you can stand in for Michael Winslow.
The frequency increased lately 😂
He hasn't done a Nigerian oooo for a long time and i miss that.
"Shiiiiieeeeet!" 🙂
My favorite feature on the 2016 e-golf is that it still requires you to reset the oil trip on the dash every 10,000 miles just as the gas gold requires:)). It’s still a great little commuter car.
Is that really the case? That's actually quite a cool feature. Best of both hahaha
Not happening with mine. Hmm...
testing old ev's like this is very very useful info for people looking for second hand cars. and yeah, get some paint or water proof surface onto the concrete floor as soon as possible, salt water is really nasty for concrete
I agree. I also think its wise to paint the plasterwalls, asap. They love to suck moisture. Might get mold if not painted.
The right way to promote e-mobility. Looking forward to the BMW i3 Test. So many 94Ah on market.
Love these winter tests 👍 It would be great to have some nice shots / views from Geilo, with the hotels, the landscape and lights on ski slopes before you start driving back to Jesheim. PS: Love "Risengrød med kanelsukker og smørklat" too 😋
All that wintertime up there. I can't believe it so much snow already.
Nice winter episode! E-Golf ruled for 9 years...! For short daily commute should be perfect for everyone.
I have a 2015 eGolf. When you get eco mode (
I'm not a fan of VW but i have to admit that e-golf is a much nicer car as a used one😮😮❤❤
Very good to see fresh tests of the EVs of early adopters
Lovely to see a dashboard covered in buttons. Fond memories.
I like the Geilo test with older cars for some reason😍
Awesome video as always Bjorn, You need to bring the microwave on every trip now and show us all the norwegian dishes you can warm up using the microwave. Love it
So refreshing and interesting take on EV's keep it up🎉 As equal interestin as testing new cars
This was my first Ev.A 2016 year Egolf. No issues at all in 5 years and 45 000km driven. My car was without the heatpump even.
Wiper fluid nozzle and rader is also heated ;)
Great to see used car in winter test. Thumb up
Second hand e-Golf for the win!
Cookery show meets e-car show, best Sunday evening viewing for a long time.
As Jeremy Clarkson have said many times on TopGear.
All you need is a Golf as it does everything anyother car does, but better.
As always, thanks for the uploads. Even a a fossil fuel driver, these videos are worth it's weight in gold. 😅
Shout out to Elbilmek for demystifying the used EV market. A high mileage 22kWh i3 will be interesting...
Nice video. Looking forward to the i3. I have one from 2014 as second car
More videos with egolf , i love egolf
You should never run a microwave oven without the glass plate because it is used to absorb microwave radiation that otherwise will be reflected back into the magnetron and quickly destroy it. Best regards
Apparently so. It acts a bit like a load and helps to absorb excess energy as you have said. Good tip!
What is next? Chicken grill in the trunk 😂. Priceless.
This is good entertainment on a Sunday.
Good test👍
Little off topic, but this Golf's have vary good FM radio. This before 2017 even have tuning knob.
Best regards from a long time forever and FM radio enthusiast.
Awesome work! Please do it with 28kw/h Ioniq 😊
I just love Norway
A colleague of mine had an egolf. It was not super nice to see "Climate comfort reduced" in the winter when the range neared zero.
Thank god this technology prevailed over leaf (ccs and actively cooled battery vs chademo and passive battery)
No active cooling in e-Golf.
Hahaha, I also have a 2014 e-Golf, and that exact microwave.
Edit: same tires too :D
If i remember correctly, you have used airfryier as well. Maybe a comparison of different cooking equipment for EVs ;) Maybe Phillips or other producers will sponsor you ;)
If you gonna paint the floor, use a 2k paint that are meant for it, and if you gonna use studded tires you also need to do a top layer och some protection or it will scratch the paint. ask me how I know ;)
In my opinion the use of eco flow for heating during driving is a form of cheating on the result. I understand to bring those in form of a backup, but the test should not include using extra heating…
Agreed
Would be cool with an update about how you are settling into the house! I also hope wifey is doing good with her pregnancy! :)
We still need those older chargers just maintain and update them
We all know Bjørn Nyland is a food critic in electric car reviwer-disguise. 😂
1000km challenge would be awesome to see. Would probably be less "agony" than with leaf😂
Geilo Test. 👍
Are the maps of e-golf still updated with news charging points after 9 years?
When will you test the new model 3?
Similar test with bmw i3(s) please :)
God jul! Ska också börja dunka i mig risgrynsgröt, bara 1,5 månad kvar.
Hey Bjorn nice music, who is it?
Did the battery cool down going downhill? You mentioned that you wanted to keep an eye on it but never said the results (I don't think).
Very nice food
Awesome garage Björn!
Is your garage heated by heatpump or is it PTC?
He has liquid underfloor heating via heat pump.
My 22kwh zoe with 140k km also had very little degradation compared to the leaf. Only about 12%
Wow, cool test! I have one of those, but from 2015. Not planning to do long trips, but still an awesome car for the used price!
BTW, How did you power the microwave?
The Ecoflow in the backseat
@@axelflakmoppe oh, I see!! He brought a powerbank in the rear seat! Thanks!
The upgraded 42kWh battery in the BMW i3 is another great second hand EV to buy! (from 2018)
I picked a 2019 one up the other week. A great first used EV to get!
13:36 My Ford Focus from 2007 has a heated screen.
❤❤❤
ABC Always be cooking
Kul test 👍 hvilket diagnose program bruker du på telefonen? 😊
Would you try old 500e for geilo test? Should be nice to see how the battery ages..😮
Lack of DC charging makes the old 500e not suitable for road trips. Nice little city runabout though.
I already did once 300 mile trip in the middle of winter in 500e and I totally agree, it is not a road tripper.
@@gaikaviortas455bro.😂
@byorm How long can you use heater out of delta generator?
👍👍👍👍
Next time bring with you some French bread and a homemade Spanish omelette instead such strange mixture that you prepared with the microwave oven. Your travel will be much pleasure. 😊
Maybe strange for you, but not strange for Norwegians at all.
@@bjornnyland Yeah! Here, "the Southerns" are very "special" with food. Hope see you by here (Spain). What about a 4000km challenge? It's completely different with new dares like looking for a charger when planned is broken! 😉 But we have good food!
is your ecoflow running off its own battery pack?
The biggest mistake vw has made was coming away from the egolf quality, it even had variable b modes , the only down side the 3 kw charger ac , and the heater as well as forgetting your settings every time you enter from parked
Which supplier made the Golf 24 KWH battery?
Panasonic , way better quality that why they still hold up years later
Bjørn, I missed the end result for this test. How long did it take to drive to Geilo and back? How does it compare to other cars?
I only measure one way.
@@bjornnyland OK sure. But I did not see Gelio, or a discussion of the result and how it compares. Maybe it was super quick, but I could not tell which stop was Gelio.
@bjorn is it worth spending the extra on an e-golf compared to e-up ? Which would have the greater range between the two?
E-golf charges with more flat curve i.e. faster. If planning on multi charge trips that might be a thing to look into
First e-up is only 16,8 kwh. Veeery small battery.
@@martijnkosters9024don't the newer eups have a bigger battery?
yes newer e-up as about 38kWh but out of my budget, seems e-golf has a little bit more range.
♥♥♥
Volkswagen should just have done a better e-golf instead of the id3.
Looks way better inside and outside, smaller and already a success, it was so simple 😢
Hey Björn,
which app and which obd adapter do you use in the Golf?
Car Scanner
@@bjornnyland and which obd dongle?
Do you think this also works with the VW e-T6.1?
what is the app name on your phone?
Did you know that rotating plate in microwave is because it has power peaks where waves get into resonance and ti would not heat it evenly if you do not turn your meal? These machines are also sort of optimised to focus power above the plate. I tried to put something under plate to get 10cm higher and it was much less heated than normally. I suggest to brign rotating plate next time. Bon Appétit :)
All EVs should come with a built in microwave and coffee maker, could be a selling point
Still exist..
Man mix the sugar with the cinnamon before hand
The point was to show the two items separately. Or did you mean that I already did it since you wrote "Man mix the sugar..."?
But if you meant "Man, mix the sugar..." then it gets a different meaning...
@@bjornnyland yeah, sorry, cinnamon is hard to spread evenly, sticks on the fingers and can be bitter in direct contact with the taste buds. But if you want to show the ingredients then it's better to show them separately
You should test Buddy to Geilo😂 Or maybe Think?😂
I don't Think so, Buddy.
"Always read the instructions" - Proceeds to ignore the instructions saying to keep the foil on the pack, it doesn't mention the need for partially opening it.
ABC - Allways bring citchen.
VW should really make a true succesor to the e-golf. The ID3 is just way too big and buggy
I am sure the next Generation Golf will be an ID.Golf. Anything else would surprise me. Just like they mentioned a possible ID.Tiguan to complement the ID.4
How much is this car worth now?
Maybe 6500-8000 euro
Right now in Norway, an E-golf 2015 or 2016 is between 10000 to 15000 euro.
Very expensive car for 95 km winter range 👀
@@stane89 Not compared to the alternatives: B-class at the same price, i3 at 11-15k, Leaf at 8-10k, Soul at 7-10k, Fiat 500 at 6-9k and e-Up at 6-7k. Cars are expensive in Norway, so compared to the market and what you get for the money, the e-Golf is a good deal.
Hmm 🤔 impressive kitche.... sorry I mean garage for interesting content to be cooke..sorry discussed, we are E progresing man
6:55 what did I just hear?
Test driving an eGolf almost kept me from buying electric. It was as slow as my '93 Impreza, or worse, and that range sucked.
After it I tried a Fiat 500e which was even worse. I had 50 miles of range, then turned on the AC and had 30 miles of range displayed. It wasn't as quick as hyped, and even for a guy like me who likes smaller cars (or just doesn't like the gigantic SUVs and trucks that dominate here) it was tiny.
Then I tried a Bolt and fell in love. Now that the honeymoon is over I recognize that 'Beverly' has faults, but she's still mine till she dies (probably).
Caveat: This was years ago. I've gotten over range anxiety, mostly, and I could probably live with a 100 mile car nowadays if I had to. It's nice being able to drive up and visit my fam for the holidays without having to stop though.
Sure sugar in bag LOL looks nothing like cocaine
Maybe should start comparing New Fossil Car with New EVs of cOmparable Specifications. Then showing yearly cost and Maintenance.?
@@andersnilsson973 So Fossil Fuel Cars can be shown to be inferior economically and in reliability but also point out the expenses they create by their Air Pollution. Which is dangerous for the Environment, Human and Animal life and how People Dying or afflicted with lifetime illnesses is a cost bore by Taxpayers never by the Profiteers. Then the cost of Wars for Fossil Fuels...WMD's in Iraq, Putin in Ukraine etc. The amount of Propaganda spewing out on the Net telling Lies about EV's is getting worse. Their needs to be balance.
Modern models still using the same software 😁
God I would probably starve to death instead of eating that things....
Always buy ABGC…, Always Buy German Cars
I would be really scared when buying used electric car... One never knows how was the battery treated and in what state it is...
That also applies to ICE-Cars for me. For EV‘s at least a batterie test could help. Combustion engines are so complex that I could never tell what may get broken next.
@@G0busGreat point
How do you know what state a gas engine is in or how it was treated? Just because it was maintained with records does not necessarily mean it wasn't beat on. Maybe the closest would be a compression test, but that definitely cannot give you anywhere near a specific health value like most EVs can, and it still can't predict that the day after you buy it a catastrophic failure may occur like transmission dying or a bearing spinning because it felt like it.
You can read out so many information via OBD, no need to be afraid
@@G0busgood point.
Any EV is better than Leaf, sorry.
Probably not the triplets
Little bag of white powered in the hands of a shaking guy. Nothing to see here nothing to see here
