      This prompted me to look up the Indian number system with lakh and crore etc as opposed to "million"...very cool!

    So if we had n= 50, we have to do the same thing 50 times and add up all the sums??? How is this efficient?

      It's not an efficient way to calculate it, but to denote it

    Is there a formula to calculate factorial like there is for the sum of an arithmetic series? I am aware of the algorithms but I want to do this in O(1)?

    This sounds like a for loop in programming... start from one number and increase it by one till it reaches a certain specified number.
