You just have to spend 5 minutes listening to her music and 5 minutes watching her press, and there's no way you won't fall in love with this woman - a genuine, unique, authentic, intelligent, thought-provoking, musical genius and performance artist who's never afraid to stand up for what is right and who never misses an opportunity to lift others up. I got the True Colours Record album when I was 14 back in the 80’s. My friends and I must have danced to her music after school every day. She has unique genius in her Music. I Just love Cindi still.

Agree,she gives life to the lyrics with all her humanity ,like Karen Carpenter or Nina Simone,first you got to deeply understand what you're singing about before sending it at the bottom of our hearts,this is the reason why Cyndi is one of the greats in my opinion.

No matter how much Celine belts and shouts and performs vocal gymnastics at the top of her lungs on this song, she could never catch those emotions as raw as Cyndi does with her inimitable limited range voice. Emotion is something else, that requires a true musical understanding and not just the ability to belt. Roy and Cyndi gives me chills on this song everytime. I love Celine's version, but she can't give me the chills like these two. ❤️

Thank you!!! In the 80s I was in junior high Cyndi Lauper showed me it was ok to be yourself and gave me the courage to come out. It wasn't easy. Many people turned their backs on me but along with my two younger brother who stood by my side and loved me for myself. I always felt Cyndi was there by my side too. Two days ago me and my family had to meet at a hospital to say good bye to my youngest brother and remove him from life support. This morning when I woke with a heavy heart and missing my baby brother I turned on utube there was Cyndi posting how she just downloaded this song. For the first time in days even though I still had tears in my eyes I was smiling listening and remembering happy times with my brother.So thank you again because like back then it feels like today you are standing beside me when I needed you
