Wow. What Jerry says at around 2hr 50 (i'm watching catch-up style!) is how last week's live stream, watching the planes land in hurricane winds, got people writing in saying how it helped get rid of their fear of flying more than the courses they've been on. Well same here. I've spent £100s on a fear of flying course, and it didn't help - and then I watched this live last week and it helped me a thousand times more than any course or book. Just seeing the skill of pilots got rid of the fear. And i'm off on a long haul flight for the first time this year :) cheers guys x
Cheers!
The course helped me but stuff like the other week really adds confidence.
someone mentioned about glorifying killing machines. should remember they keep us safe and secure Keep up the good work great coverage
RAF Scampton was the home of 617 squadron ( Dam Busters).
Hi all what a great video keep them coming,
Love the roar of them!! I do miss the Vulcans they were amazing to see fly
I was stationed here in the early 90s and was lucky enough to get a trip in an F3 from 29 squadron. This has brought it all back, even got a tear in my eye.
1:15:21 When Auditing Britain films the police he gets handcuffed and detained. When Big Jet TV films the RAF he gets a cheerful wave 🤘
I lived next door to there for awhile whilst working in Lincoln, i used to see these everyday loads of them non stop 24/7 flying about and one day i see the spitfire and lancaster bomber flying with them, unbelievable goosebumps!
Live just down the road, it’s amazing to watch them take off!
Yes I am the bear that follows you. You are the best and my inspiration. Thank you 🧸🇬🇧
So glad I found this channel, lovin it ,especially the “Jerry isms “ - dirty flaps 😂😂.
You guys caught a mate of mine from school days in the air cadets doing his first Typhoon solo.
Love your commentary , I never knew you could make watching planes so interesting and entertaining, I'm hooked !!!!
I stayed there for a week on camp when in Air Cadets back in 1997, had Tornado F3's back then. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
That E-145 at 07:19 is owned by BAe Systems - made 3 trips today. It seems to fly to certain bases, Coningsby, Warton, Lossiemouth, Farnbourgh. My guess is BAe execs or maintenance techs.
Yep sounds about right. I briefly worked for BAE. My boss flew out of Warton to Berlin every fortnight on a 146 or similar. Loved this stream today BTW!
Brings back when I worked on the base when most of the take off's where going vertical every day.
Audio's fantastic
Excellent typhoon show
3:24:40 wow amazing !!
Hello Jerry today I'm still watching your videos of RAF Coningsby on Wednesday and watching both of part 1 and part 2
You’ll have to go back in summer. On some days you can see the Spitfires and the Lancaster practice their airshow routine.
This place can be a bit “all or nothing”. With 3 or 4 jets taking off at once and then nothing it’s quiet for hours.
I love the smell of Avtur in the morning!
Very good show. You got 100 of these monsters.! Very good indeed
I hope that these planes will not need to be used anytime soon 🤞
We've not got a chance if they come here. Tories cut funding so we lack actual boots on ground. We'll be good at sending them a strongly encrypted email though. 😉
@@HappyGrump Perhaps Borris could invite Putin to one of his party's, and try sweet talking him.
The Aircraft are being used regularly for combat and bombing missions over Iraq...Infact The RAF Typhoons got their first Air to Air Kill the other week shooting down a Drone..
Operation Shader
Man this comment hits really different right now than it did when you posted it.
@@ThraceVega Scary time's ahead ☹️
Wow love the typhoon fighter, need too come down and watch 👍👍
Love it at Coningsby, well worth a visit if you’re into aviation
A little history for you, I flew in Blackjacks’s (ZJ914) first ever flight with Sainty on the 28th May 2021 at 1005z. I am even written in the flying log for it at RAF Coningsby. I really wanted to come see you but I am at RAF Wittering awaiting my flight in a Grob Tutor. Wahhayy keep up the amazing work and one day may see you at my home base 😎🤙🏼🧸🇬🇧
Great Stuff! Thank you folks xx
Typhoon,.. awesome love it.
Awesome buddy, god I miss watching these amazing planes😍
I had a few flights in the Chipmunk whilst in the ATC. Air Training Corps. They where quite good fun doing aerobatics.
Great video 👍👌
I like your RAF Ensign Jerry! Cool 😎
I was working on making the Pilot Suit Conditioning System for the Typhoon (Eurofighter/EFA), in 1994/5. So 27 or 28 years ago!
This is amazing 👍
That signal box is a Runway Caravan! It drives out to the runway in use. I know this because I was once a Runway Controller. It is used for last look safety checks and overseeing the runway is safe during operations.
It’s called a ‘Runway Caravan’ and it’s driven out to that position.
Just loving this
Such a beauty of an aircaft made by Great Britain and other NATO members! I love it! It is such a beauty. I have 0 words for it. It is powerfull, it is a killer it is a devastating multirole jet! Especially with an experienced pilot like at 3:24:48 Amazing takeoff! Lets go guys! Without you, I will never ever able to feel safe in the EU air territory!
Obviously you’ve never seen a English electric lighting take off in a vertical climb!!! Now that’s impressive, that plane could exceed supersonic in a vertical climb.
Yes, I have seen thatI was based at RAF Binbrook in the early 60s. It did a test fly past over the runway, it then shot up like a rocket vertically. Impressive the see the flame from the after buyers and the noise, Wow!
It’s still the fastest aircraft to 60,000ft there is nothing to touch the Lightenings
Well Well Gerry, Long time. Had no idea you were into aircraft. Brilliant channel man. (Graham KIS bike park by the way).
BAe Systems have that jet to carry personnel between sites for meetings, service ops, etc It does a round robin around various sites around the country
Upgrade from my time when it was a Jetstream!
@@TheSeventhSeal I think in my day, it was an HS125 (BAe125)
Hiya don't know if anyone has said but the hardened shelters are called HAS hardened aircraft shelter. In the height of cold war they could seal them to counter a NBC threat.
In RAF speak… The Touch & Go is called a Roller and if they don’t touch is called an Overshoot.
Hi Jerry I love your job man I’m getting jealous now well done
The helicopters over Shrewsbury are training helicopters from RAF Shawbury.
Using the taxiway like that is called a backtrack.
Missed the show unfortunately but will watch it now :)
That vertical take off is insane. Glad I am not paying for the fuel
If you are a British tax payer, you will be paying for it.
@@terrystevens5261 If you believe in defense, all citizens should be given weapons and trained how to use them. Not just paying to fuel fast jets to lord it abroad.
@@tensevo
Tell me you have no idea how Defence works, without telling me you have no idea how Defence works.
The Typhoon in Hendon is fibreglass and was used by BEA systems as a display model for air shows and other displays
Yaaaaaaaaa! Brilliant.
Nice, but a Lightning take-off was more impressive!
Lightning was great, but had to come straight back down again because it would run out of fuel.
@@MeTube3 The Mk6's that I worked on at Wattisham had a reasonable endurance, especially when fitted with drop tanks. However, there were plenty of stories of pilots shutting down one engine on the way back to conserve fuel and praying it would re-start for the landing.
@@bobdylan7120 Lightning F.6 combat radius about 150 miles compared to Typhoon 850 miles.
Hey
28:30 prop plane
35:02 prop landing (touch and go)
1:11:12 typhoon
1:13:30 typhoon
My beautiful grandpa was in the RAAF in Darwin when the Japanese bombed it during the 2nd World War. Luckily he was never injured but never spoke about it.
Awesome
Quick question for y'all how do you know the schedule for the typhoons at coningsby
The B-52 would have been out of Fairford! R24 quite often selects a nearby but incorrect airfield of departure.
Miss the GR4's 😞
Sorry guys looks like I've got to go, my beloved wife just came in and said she's had enough it's either her or Big jet TV, I didn't take my decision lightly and was a hard choice , I hope you understand, give me half hour to help her pack her bags and I'll be back.❤😂👍
so what was that take off roll
617 squadron were based at RAF Scampton.
nice
WOW !!
AC at 28:00 is the BBMF DH T10 Chipmunk aircraft and it's most likely a Typhoon jockey at the controls....
Is it just me all I can hear is top gun tunes! 😀👌😎
Two hats 😂
617 never served at Coningsby. Like Leuchars, Coningsby was always a fighter base. If 617 aircraft were there it was on detachment or deployment due to an inoperable airfield. Bases were set for a specific role and Coningsby is a fighter base. 29 still there if I'm correct, flying Typhoons.
29 is still there
Jerry, not a 3 pack. A 3 ship!
617 squadron was based at scampton NOT coninsby
3:18:12 what the hell, i found myself moving the phone right to follow the aircraft lol
16:23 RIP headphone wearers
hi team big jet tv how is today going i am watch on your youtube channel and radio chat
sorry pal, worked inside the wire for several weeks , at first was awe inspiring but gradually got fed up of the din, plane takes off plane lands, cant hear yourself think or communicate, whatever floats your boat, its a plane lol
A thumbs up @1:09:38 ?
It might be unstable but the flight control computers make them stable.
Is this type of activity all because of recent world events? Or is this a regular deal?
Every day Training flights,
Wtffff!!! This is crazy!!!
This can happen only in England. Since it doesn't have any danger from neighbouring countries! In India they don't allow to video shoot any defence airports.
Vertical?
I once saw a Eurofighter take over whilst static and slightly hovering above the ground at BAE Warton. It didn't move from its position and then the nose started pointing upwards and all of a sudden - boom! It blew a hole in the tarmac on the runway and was gone. So powerful & amazing.
I’m very very Appy 😁👍 Vale 46
3:24:00
a squadron of these for Leeming please
57:00
Footballer or pilot? I think pilot
That last Typhoon was probably off to meet a Soviet Bear he was in a real hurry
They've done a few full welly departures today, you've got to practise them, honest gov...
Considering it even has extra fuel tanks, the TWR is crazy
03:24:50 that pilot hardly needed a runway!
Nah pilots would have to do some of those takeoffs every so often to stay proficient it wasn't QRA.
@@tgm9991 True he would not have gone out to meet an intruder on his own
that is completely insane
Take off is governed by the direction of the wind....aircraft need to take off into the wind. The open maintenance area is called the asp or pan or the flight line. Typhoon does not have auto retract undercarriage.....bizarre suggestion!!. 3 stage lp and 5 stage lp compressor is quite normal. Thrust level isn't because the aircraft is so light!!!...its due to aerodynamic considerations inherent at the design stage, this includes the use of supercruise which lessens the use of reheat.
1:34:00
1:50:00
You need a focus puller 😅
1:21:24
Stalker!
A typhoon cannot take off vertically, Jerry! A vertical take-off has NO horizontal movement. That was just a high-powered steep climb-out.
Come on. You of all people know its a near vertical climb AFTER Take Off..
What ? A bear in the air?
Tu-95 Bear Russian bomber.
Click bait! If an aircraft has to use the runway to reach take off speed, that is not vertical!!
How is it that a footballer can earn more money than these legends?🤔🤔
Surely that’s a conventional take-off with a vertical climb ? F35 , Harrier and helicopters do vertical take-offs ! ….. just an adjustment on your speech needed
🥰🥰🥰🤙🏼🧸🇬🇧
Who knew they were preparing for today.....besides pol of course.
