- The Sherman Firefly Scorpion in War Thunder is a Polish Premium Tank in the British Tech Tree. It's a uparmoured version of the British tank with the same super powerful 17 Pounder!
The Scorpion Firefly retains the old Radial Engine of the older Sherman but it's much lighter meaning it accelerates quicker but can't traverse hilly terrain as well.
Overall, it's a great tank... I just find the gun is has a bit too much penetration and not enough one shot potential!

@@Parsons360 I always just swap our the Churchill with a bomber, preferably the one at 2.7 with a 4000lbs bomb. I like heavies, but I don't like heavies that can't bounce anything at the BR's it always fights at.

The 17pdr really suffers from volumetric shells. I actually have found that i do better against uptiers because tigers and panthers' armor causes more shrapnel than lighter targets.
Yeah true, I honestly found that alot of the british tanks because of solid shot, the tanks really shine in uptiers especially 5.7 apds
@@magicalawsome3776 the 4.7 lineup is quite good. Above that you have good tanks but not a really full lineup until 7.3 sadly
Its one of the best things about APDS.
It‘s good for practice！Players will soon know where the ammo located on everything.
Its funny how I feel no threat from tigers or Panthers but anything below them is a real pain.
Try the legendary M4A4 SA50 or I named it The “FrenchFly”

The 17 Pounder is really good, but I can't stand the Sherman Firefly as a whole... That tank is so poorly armored and the awful mobility and gun depression is a nightmare for me.
I take the M4A1 (76) W at 4.7 any day.
Give the Avenger a go. Its well fast and has good acceleration. Its also has the 17pdr but with 10 degrees of depression. And to top it all off the hull has 2 spaced 60mm plates making it weirdly survivable
Yeah I've always hated the Sherman Firefly, it's just not good
I do whole heartedly agree with Ronnie though, the Avenger is a tight little tank to run
@@__Tiny__ The Avenger is an okay vehicle in my opinion, but the biggest down side is that AWFUL reverse gear.
@@carlblack8574 combined with the ridiculous forward gear, that whole family of tanks is super easy to over extend yourself with, its always easier to turn 180 and run away than to reverse.
I like the firefly but its just the armor that just kills it for me

They could fix Normandy by moving the spawns, lets say keep one set of spawns in C2 and C6 and move the other two to E1-E2 to E6-E7.

With the most recent battlepass challenge now open (kill tanks with bombs under 120kg) I would love to see a video about that. I just love to watch you play CAS and the challenge of using smaller bombs is quite fun. I've been running the Japanese M24 and the clip wing zero with 60kg bombs, it's a blast!
I've only felt extreme suffering in british tanks. The low after pen damage of the solid shot shells is painful and while the pen is decent, I just can't find myself enjoying any of them until the later, higher BR vehicles. The Rooikat is probably one of my favorite light tanks.

The Firefly's MK 8 shot has decent damage capabilities. Ive for sure one shot plenty of things with it.
The good thing about having that much pen is that you can pen the stug’s transmission

I know I won't get attention, but back in 2016, right after I got my Tiger E, I had sniped a HE-162 on custom in Sinai using APCR. The plane was flying away, and I had fired at 3.6km and by the time the shell hit, he was at 5.4km and I had to play the replay to see. I can no longer play it as the replay is out of date.
This should be an achievement b6 itself "kill a pe-8 from 4 km away". Well done Odd

I think that's the mindset with shermans. like they're forced to go against the panthers and tigers and so they have to really do better. and the reverse of that mindset is seen with some german mains. the tigers and panthers are really good but the players become complacent and so they do worse.

I remember when they added the British Ground Tree and everyone was all excited about the 17pdr. I didn't know the hype until I got to the Firefly. At this time in WT's lifespan, the only guns that felt good for the Allies were the 90s and even then you were fighting Tiger II's with short 90s. (M26 at 6.7 babyyyyy). Then you encountered the 17pdr...and it was incredible. Its only gotten better too!

And that PE-8 discovered why you don't fly in a straight line. I've done similar once before, and damn, does it feel cheeky as hell.

I'm LOVING the 4.7br British lineup. And even though they don't have a logical 4.7br aircraft to bring with them (usually), the 4.3br Tempest works a treat too. As does the 4.3br spaa. The Sherman Firefly's 5 degrees gun depression makes it too weak for me on slopy terrain (given that it can't reverse fast back into cover either), but I like it on the flat. And it doesn't seem as enjoyable as the spicey 4.7br Avenger or the durable (except on uptiers) Sherman VII.
