Honda CR250 Full Factory Spec Restoration - Part 14

- Well the time has come to finally wrap up the CR250 restoration and I have to say its a mix of happiness and sadness for me, Happy because the bike is restored and rides like a new CR25OR but also some sadness that I don't get to work on it anymore but not to worry that will soon pass when the next project kicks off ;).
So in this episode its a case of polishing up all the old plastics to get them looking as good as new again as replacements are pretty thin on the ground and the quality is nowhere near as good as original Honda parts so really glad I was able to save them.
I also got a new seat cover for the bike, I was planning on fitting it myself but I quickly decided against it after I saw that the seat was all misshapen so thought it would be better sending it out to an expert for covering.
In this episode I also get the brakes all bled up, fill the radiators with coolant, fill the engine with oil and get the bike up and running again as well as looking like new.

Honda CR250 The Final EPIC Transformation - Part 14 - Perfect Restoration - Auta a dopravní prostředky
This is the best restoration channel on CZcams!
Thank you so much :)
One of the very very best that’s for sure. A lot have dropped their standards, not this one, always nothing but perfect.
Agree
Where the bike actually gets restored and not replaced with new parts
True. By a long long way. The total lack of BS and superfluous and superficial nonsense is so refreshing. A true master indeed.
*Standing ovation*
BRAVO my good sir! Best restoration series I've EVER followed!!!
Thank you so much :)
What a joy to watch(actually paused the video, to comment) I expect to find the quality of work to speak for itself as always. Thanks mate for making my Sunday morning :) lol yes I live vicariously through watching your stuff, you show us what good quality work can/should be. I say vicariously cuz if I could I would b get inspired and fix/maintain a lot of stuff meticulously like you do but I don't have the tools, space and least of the skills you have. So i channel through you and thats cool. As always thanks for sharing..
Always nice to hear from you my friend, really glad to hear that you've enjoyed the latest installment :)
Excellent restoration ! I watched all the episodes with pleasure. I am waiting for new projects!👍👍👍
Thank you very much
Beautiful bike, and as usual, stellar workmanship. My old mum once told me that if you live in Scotland and don't go out in the rain, you wouldn't be going out much. 😊
I went out this morning to do the brakes on my wife's Mini, glorious sunshine, two minutes later it was glorious sunshine and pishing rain. You have got to love the Scottish weather.
Tell me about it lol the weather here really does drive you insane sometimes!
Absolutely excellent work mate as always!! Have loved this one fromstart to finish. I have no idea how you managed to save those faded old plastics but man they look better than new. Absolutely amazing work!
Always a pleasure to hear from you :) Yeah the plastics really were a labor of love they took soooooo long to get back to being shiny just about drove me insane but replacing them wasnt an option as they were original to the bike so you know me find a way to save them lol. Glad you enjoyed it :)
SOOOO Many NEW Parts! PLUS:the Sanding,Cleaning,Painting. BEAUTIFUL RESTORATION!!!
hearing that 2-stroke brings back some of my best memories
Cracking work, Sir!! Looks factory fresh!! .... there's a few other youtube bike 'restorers' that could learn a lot from your videos 😉
Thank you so much :)
What do you mean a few? 99.99% don't have the attention to detail or the passion to deliver consistently high quality work. If I could I would spend a week with the Maestro just trying to absorb that energy & passion that comes through in all of what he works to restore.
*cough* Del Boys Garage *cough*
@@shaunbarclay1309 you read my mind 😉
Factory fresh? This is beyond any new or old CR in history.
Yay, finally we get to see the complete package, what a beauty! You did an amazing job bringing this Honda CR250 back to life! Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to perfection! Bring on the next project!🥰🥰
Thank you so much for your kind comment :)
I could write a novel on how every thing you've done would go wrong if I were to try any of it. Thanks for another fascinating series.
Utterly epic. I restored an old Yamaha 125 when I was just 18yo... this series has given me the bug again and I just can't stop thinking about buying a knackered old Honda V4 to restore. Stupid choice, I know, but I do love Honda V4 bikes. All of them.
Absolute dream bike, the job you did was amazing mate as with everything you do, cant wait to see what's next enjoy your ride on it😍👍👍
Thank you so much :)
The bike came out amazing. My late dad had a CR-250 just like that and remember him riding around on it when I was a kid. Can’t wait to see your next restoration project!
I very much enjoyed that series! I used to go sit on that bike in the local Honda shop as a kid. Nice to watch you save one. Love the little bits of humour you add in. Now, to watch another one of your series. If you ever felt like it, it would be fun to see the time indicated of the bits you skip. It would give us a real sense of the work you put in. Thanks again from Canada. 🇨🇦
This restoration brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for your dedication.
Поздравляю с окончанием проекта!!! Великолепная работа!!! Жду новых серий!
Amazing restoration Sir, just love the thorough work you do!
And what an amazing sound!
I used to ride a Suzuki RM 125 cross bike on track here in Norway and this crisp sound reminds me of the fun days! 😊👍🏻
Thank you really glad you liked it :)
The polished plastics compared to the new mudguard shows just what can be done. The final result looks awesome. Cracking job.
Another wonderful restoration. You are such an inspiration. As I move into the parts acquisition and tear down phase of the 1998 Honda Valkyrie, I'm finding out how difficult it is to locate some parts and the expense with the current supply chain issues. You my friend are worth every Patrion penny. I am also learning how to make better videos from you. I'd bet that was something you never intended to teach us. Your lighting, camera and editing are excellent. "Lovely" content. Thank you so much. And you gave us one shot at the end of this one which almost let us see your face. That was a treat. I look forward to the next project. In the mean time, I'll use your teaching and inspiration to "crack on" with the Valkyrie and it's videos. Be safe and well. Warmest Regards from the USA.
Beautiful job mate! Such a pleasure watching this build!
Thank you, Glad you enjoyed it :)
J’adore regarder votre travail, félicitations et merci ✌️
I grew up ripping an 86 CR250R through the woods in the US, this brings back so many memories!! Thank you very much, what I would give to ride one again, I loved that bike!!! What an awesome machine for the track and the trail, it was effortless to ride through the Northeast US woodland trails, she was perfect!!
Nice, Im actually so jealous that you got to grow up with that bike and being able to ride out in the woods, here in Scotland its the track or nothing :(
@@RRCRestoration wow, that really is too bad. I remember the 86 CR250R was awesome on the track, but down a tooth on the front and a 53 tooth on the back and she was a gem in the woods. I was blessed to have trails I could connect to behind my house that went into a large network with a wide variety, single track, fields, wide track, hills, was an absolute dream. Today they are mostly gone, now it’s sad when I visit my parents, the woods are now houses behind their home. But that is in Connecticut. Now I live in Minnesota, and the state has many trail systems and encourages people to ride. Which is awesome, it is such a great sport for kids.
Watching you rebuild this bike had me put a deposit on a CRF300l, who knows how long the wait will be, lol. But can’t wait to get back on the trail.
Thank you again for these videos, you are an artist!!
God Bless✝️🙏
You know, every job we do wether free or paid your name and reputation goes with that job and it's safe to so say your name remains shiny and clean! Well done RRC Restoration!
Thank you so much that means a lot :)
Mais uma excelente restauração... parabéns!!!
Uma dica: não deixe os equipamentos elétricos que não estão sendo usados conectados na tomada de energia. Podem ser queimados caso um raio atinge a rede elétrica. Abraço
Ooh, get him with his artsy tracking spotlight shots (20:37). :D
It looks stunning mate. After all the effort getting your bikes to this level, I don't know how you can bare to use them in the DUSTY outdoors, so I don't think anyone begrudges you not wanting to slush up all your hard work on this ones first outing.
During the clean up outro, I really thought there would be a hint at what the next project would be. Maybe an obvious replacement part sat somewhere in the background, or part of the project vehicle/machine/item just visible in one of the shots. Unfortunately, it's either not there, or I've missed it. :(
What can I say the bike deserves a fancy reveal... I just wish i was a better camera man and editor to take the videos to the next level but i suppose with time ill pick up the digital skills to go along with the mechanical ones lol.
Yeah it would've been an ideal place to leave a little hint but tbh i didn't even think of it till i was doing the edit and thought damn... a bit like yourself haha
@@RRCRestoration ........... Erm............. You could leave a hint here if you like? :D
@@RRCRestoration time to find a video director editor. Like Joe Rogan did. I bet someone who watches you and lives close is subscribed. Ask on a video...see what happens...make a filler video whilst we wait for the Honda riding mower lol.
@@RRCRestoration I thought I cought it, the sprocket in the toolbox?
😇🤫🤐
Remarkable, with patience, lots of elbow grease, and god knows how much money thrown at it, another Honda are finally reborn into this world, it was abused, it has seen things (probably), but now it was refreshed and coming back looking stunning with all of it's former glory. Thanks for providing us with such series, for free, good luck for you, Sir, we'll all wait for more adventures from you, cheers.
Thank you so much for leaving that nice comment :)
Just re-watched this to remember my teen years ripping through the Connecticut woods on my 1986 CR250R. Best bike ever made!
Phenominal job, I love it and really worth the wait to see this classic finished 😁👍
Thank you so much my friend :)
I got all choked up watch this. Use to have and ride one in the early 90s. Still the best bike ever. Thank you for taking us on this wonderful rebuild journey
Thank you for joining me on the journey :)
I'm honestly flabbergasted by a couple of things: 1. you had a full set of intact plastics for an old dirt bike to start with! Usually, they're cracked, faded and snapped beyond usability. 2. that you can still buy OEM parts for this bike. Nice work as always. 👌
Yup all things that amazed me too tbh lol
It's a beautiful and historical bike.A very good restoration. It belongs in a museum
Thank you very much! :)
Thanks again, it made my morning! I just arrived back in England from an extended trip to Asia and dug out my bike to get it ready for MOT and give it a wash. That all went well so I enjoyed your video while drinking my coffee. Look forward to the next project!
Nice, Glad you enjoyed it :)
Best restoration channel on the internet!!
As our friends in Australia would say. "Another one done and dusted!" Great work! Certainly less frustrating as far as supply chain issues goes than the little 3-wheeler was. I'm very surprised that the plastics were able to be polished out as well as they were. Here in Texas the sun is just so brutal that plastics just get beat up to the point of deteriorating. My 79 Chevy pickup's door panels are actually crumbling. Need to get around to ordering new ones some day. But there's just other stuff on the plate. And honestly I need to rediscover my motivation. Cheers!
-Shane from Texas.
Hey Shane always nice to hear from you, Yeah the ATC was absolutely brutal to get parts for thankfully the CR wasn't just as bad haha, Yeah i was quite dubious about whether the plastics would be salvageable, I think i got to them in the nick of time i recon another year or 2 in direct sunlight then they would be totally bleached and unrecoverable. Yeah it does sound brutal out there mind you, with all the rain over here at the moment a trip to Texas would do me the world of good to recover after the CR restoration haha. You sound burnt out my friend, look after yourself and don't take on too much you'll soon bounce back :)
@@RRCRestoration Come out to Texas and preach a revival! lol. We can team up and work on the suburban! I'll treat you to the best BBQ in the world. We'll go shoot guns and do all the "freedom" stuff while it's still legal, lol.
Another masterpiece completed. The best resto channel on CZcams. Thank you.
Thank you so much :)
One of the best restoration channels on Utube
🇬🇧😐
You're too kind , Nice to see you again :)
I wish there was an applause button.
Then a standing ovation button!
I didn't think the bike looked too bad at first.
Comparing the before and after though.....its like night and day.
You're too kind sir :)
This is therapy for me
I love watching old bikes get saved from the scrap yard. Sir, you set the standard for all bikes to get restored to their former glory.
you're too kind :)
The dirt bike of my youth, I wanted one so bad this turned out awesome
Fabulous workmanship. A joy to watch that bike being reborn.
Thank you :)
…best looking crosser ever.
I never knew you could bring the plastics back up like that. Top work as always.
Yeah, it really is a ton of work and is very tedious but it can be done.
One of the greatest if not the greatest production motocross bike ever produced ..... your resto is with out question very very very impressive!!!
Thank you :)
Fantastic work mate! Could smell it from here!
Such a good smell :)
Is there anybody else on the planet you would take your bike to for restoration? Nope. Can not wait to see the next project!
High praise indeed, Thank you :)
That is really way above average. So impressive, how that turned out. Thank you for all your effort you put into your restorations, explaining and your outstanding editing. Also happy to see George around again, began to miss him. Keep up your great work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful job! I've restored the same bike so it was fun to compare your techniques and choices to what I've done. What makes your videos so good is the camera angles and editing. People don't realize how much work goes into making a good video and just like myself, you don't take shortcuts. I tip my hat to you sir. 👏🏼👍🏼🤘🏻👌🏼
Thank you so much for your kind comment :)
What a great project that was! It doesn't hurt that the 1986 CR250 is my favorite dirt bike of all time period very, impressive very impressive.
Thank you very much! :)
I think you are the best restorer in all of Europe, maybe even in the whole world.
And that as a solo fighter.
Congratulations on another completed project!
Better than new.
Greetings from Germany!
You're too kind :)
I'm trying to decide what is more satisfying. Watching my (now 12yr old) son enter this world? Or watching this CR250 get transformed into a brand new bike again? And I think the CR gets the nod. Having said that? I would like to offer you a trade for the CR250. That same 12yr old boy for the CR. Don't answer right away. Let it sink in for a minute. I've already checked all the laws in both countries and we are good to go. To sweeten the pot? I'll pay shipping for my son and the bike. I can't wait to ride my new vintage CR250! YOU DID AN AMAZING JOB ON THAT BIKE!
Hmm well as tempting as that trade deal sounds I think I'd have to pass... but on the other hand an apprentice would be good ... " no no RRC stick to your guns" ... I'll keep the CR haha
Awesome work! I've watched the entire series and I've never ridden a motorbike in my life!
And amazing resto as always. Can not wait for the next one!!!
This is outstanding.😍 Congratulations. Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦.
Thank you so much :)
WOW! Absolutely beautiful restoration!
I own the same 1986 CR250R.
It would be a dream to have you restore
My bike!! You are gifted with amazing
Talent. BRAVO 👏🏼
Amazing work!!!
Another brilliant job. Well done!
Congrats! and deepest thanks!
Amazing job! All details covered
God I love the sound of a good 2 stroke Dirt bike. Nicely done!!!
Absolutely amazing work
You're technique, skill and dedication borderlines obsession. :-) I honestly don't know if could start it up and ride it now as it looks like it should sit in museum or a man cave. Bravo to the entire build project, you are a very talented man both with the tools and your hands and with the video editing. I honestly can't even imagine. Again, bravo to a magnificence job!
What a build, have been waiting for each episode so impatiently!
Excited to see next project 👍 good job
Mate, I'm loving this channel. Wish I had the time, knowledge and set up to restore bikes. What a dream
Fantastic work
Absolutely stunning restoration I’m sure everyone will agree it’s been a lot of hard work that’s paid off with a beautiful CR250
Thank you very much! :)
A true craftsman in every sense, you need to contact Honda and show them your excellent workmanship!
Thank you so much :)
Absolutely outstanding!
Cracking job, Sir! Love the Binky reference, we’ve not heard that for a LONG while! Also (and I know this is a pedantic point) I really appreciate that you use the right tools for the job. The number of CZcamsrs who use (for example) 1/2” drive tools for M6 screws, or even worse, power tools for EVERYTHING, drives me insane. Precisely zero delicacy in what they’re doing. Memories of my apprenticeship at the end - not one student got to leave the college workshops until 1) every single tool from the stores was back in and accounted for, and 2) every machine and work surface was spotlessly cleaned, ready for the next student. Top job and looking forward to the next project.
Thank yo so much for leaving that comment, I know exactly what you mean some people just have no appreciation for fine engineering and the decency to work on things with the appropriate tools sad really but hey each to their own i suppose.
Superbe restauration de ce modèle mythique!
Bravo! J’ai hâte de voir le prochain projet de restauration 👏👏👍🏻
Such beautiful work!!
Thank you :)
That is nothing short of showroom fresh, absolutely love this chanel
Thanks a lot :)
Amazing project
A job well done! I always look forward to your projects. It's good to know that there are still guys like you who take pride in their work.
Thank you :)
realmente fantastico trabajo sigue asi
Absolutely beautiful!! I can almost smell the plastic ,rubber ,and new paint going to the Honda dealer back in 86. Only 1 way to make it a perfect build is for it to be in living roon!!👍👍
Absolutely outstanding.
Fantastic!! Love this build!
Thank you :)
Very professional job, nice job!
Awesome transformation! Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks so much!
Another fantastic job well done ❤
Impresionante la restauración 😍😍😍
Finally, had the time to watch this masterpiece. Loved the new shots of the bike when done, superb.
Nice job. Bike looked and sounded great.
That came out absolutely beautiful, thanks for sharing!

Beautiful finish to a great project! Nothing like some old school two-stroke goodness!
Beautiful! Looks awesome!
