The "realist" channel on CZcams. Thanks for all your videos, recent discovery for me and have been enjoying them all.
Thank you so much!
Wow, Dave..glad you got help with those bikes you bought. That place is huge! That Montesa is really sharp.
It is but I wonder if I can kick it!
Ridiculous having to leave your van that far away.
Yaaaaaaaayyy!!! All that business for a spark of pleasure. How serene. Thanks for some behind the scenes Mecum! That Montesa is nice!
Thank you
Thank you Dave for your work and your efforts on the video the main reason that they don't allow you to go in there and pick up your bike with the truck or trailer is to control the area for theft because of people are loading and unloading and they're coming and going they can't keep track of them I've gone the car auctions for many many many many many many years and I can tell you this people go in there and steal anything that's not nailed down the minute your back is turned it's gone
I believe you.
@@bullpencycles back in the 1980s I knew two guys from the car auction business one of them had a car carrier and the other one had a freighter with a nose that had the front gate that came down for offloading on the islands and if it was not nailed down it found its way on that carrier and on that boat head over to the island and that went on forever until they finally got busted but that took almost 10 years
Hey Dave, isn't it always interesting how when the trip is over the "trip" starts all over again? Phase two.....Sorting them out! Good luck with your finds.
I guess I never thought of it that way.
It's ALWAYS that way, Dave. It's the price we pay for the things we love and I'm cool with that.@@bullpencycles
Congrats Dave on your new bikes. I must say, with all the crap you hear about the Mecum organization/process the shuttle service is a nice touch.
Yes, they are organized well. They have to be given the size of it.
I always enjoy your behind the curtain videos of these events.
Have you ever sold anything at one of the big auctions ?
Nope. It kinda scares me. Some folks to really well, others not so much and I havent figured it out. I have a few I would like to try though.
Kick starting when you're old I not good. No spark No Good. My friend had a Montesa we were going down to the American River out of Blue Canyon, Ca. He went by me buy me with the front wheel in the air on a down hill section with lots of rocks spitting out at me. I was on a 125 Penton. The good old days in the seventies .
Wow! I could never do that!
Nice Dave Nice..... bikes look good man......Still got that Ducati man....
Thanks. I sold the 900ss, yes.
Hey Dave. Love watching your videos. Make sure to stop by when you back up in PA to catch up. 👍🏻
Where are you at. You can reach me dave@bullpencycles.com. I'm actually in Pennsylvania this week for the York swap meet.
The CR500 sold for the same price as the ATC 70 ? crazy.
Yeah man, really crazy!
Hay Dave nice bikes . Are you going to York this weekend ?
Yes
Dave, now you know you have to sit on the bike and put all your weight into the kickstarter 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yes I do. I was kicking injured tho. Maybe next time
🏍️
That CR500 is a 1987 the 86 was the last year of the rear drum brake
Good to know! I didnt catch that!
Kinda absurd they can't bring bikes out to your van..
Nice bikes you got .
Montessa Bultaco,Ossa , Husqvarna fan here .
Bad motoplat on Taco?
Often low speed coil in motoplat go bad weak spark when kicking but will start it bump started towed started to get rpm on to high speed charge coil .
Well, they did bring the 2 of 3 out. I was thankful. I do have another twin spark motoplat to try. The 370 has a dual plug head
@@bullpencycles can it run on one plug? My Montessa had single plug . Ossa had two one for compression release on trials bike for down hill braking I am told .
Close pug gap helps on weak ignition in starting .
9° F here tonight.
Great video really enjoyed it like how you put the prices in.hi from new zealand 🇳🇿
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you
That Brough was a "no sale" at 230K, holy smokes!
They call it "the bid goes on" but we know what it means! LOL
the seat shape on the sides of that Montesa then all the shapes and details about it, even the colors. I don't think they were selling that bike to regular goofs but for jokers who like very beautiful bikes. I would park it in my living room on a beautiful carpet rug under a giant antique chandelier. clean the tank and carb so good you could drink from them. I would however CHROME the frame. tell everybody it came special order that way for the Queen of England. she kept it parket on a beautiful carpet rug. nobody would ever google it .
It is very pretty, yes, but for riding it's only a 4 speed. So, it was a bit dated for 1980.
you should, please, do a looooooong assed video of it, showing ALL the wonderful beautiful details, in warm natural sunlight in the very late evening soft golden orange bronze lighting at that angle. wet the concrete so it reflects. first spray the entire bike down with Honda detail spray so it has a nice shine but not oily. balance the bike on a rotation stand so as to easily rotate the bike during the dramatic shots. rent a crane to do your crane shots, never use a drone that makes me mad, hire an old school giant tall arm crane. custom paint a 1980 Europeen full face motocross helmet that matches the Montesa. informing us, your fellow enthusiasts, of every spec detail about the bike including your definite plans to CHROME plate the frame. at the end of the video slowly pan up and away in that crane with rolling ending credits. THE END @@bullpencycles
You got some nice bikes. What a shit system for picking them up though. You should be able to drive your truck up there and load the motorcycles.
I dont think they can do that while the auction is actually underway. Its really a big event
Somebody gave away the CR1987
INSTANT THUMBS DOWN FOR THE FAKE THUMBNAIL OF A CR500 THAT I PRETENDED TO BUY,
I never thought of that. The video was part 2 of a longer story.
Personally, after spending your hard earned, paying their fees then being made to walk miles, I think I'd tell them to jam it up their butts. They treated you like crap as soon as they got your money. Customer service NOT.
Well, in terms of auctions, Manheim is probably worst, at least in my experience. This one has good and bad.
