In 1977 I bought a very tired 1972 XLCH Sportster, I was 25. In 1978 I took the engine to Pucket Motors in Orlando for them to do a major rebuild on it not just the top-end. I'm now 71 and I;m still riding this quick Sportster. The engine hasn't been apart since Pucket put it together.
Oh wow that’s so cool
Your bike is a rolling history book in itself. Awesome!!
That's pretty damn cool, the engine hasn't been into since the ealy seventies when you had it rebuilt!
wow👍🏿
Awesome man I actually just got my first Harley back in august I’m 13 and it’s a 77 sportster xlh
Personal thanks to the family for donating this to the museum!!
It’s where it belongs! 😎
Amen brother I've been to the museum and it's a absolute time capsule. The old man had a vision and made it reality. And I love the fact people donate their history to preserve it. It's a very unselfish thing to let go of these treasures so everyone can hear the story and relive the past or learn about it.
that is awesome I am so happy they donated it to the Wheels Through Time Museum
Wow, I’m so glad this was donated to Wheels Through Time Museum! Thank you Lee and family for allowing all of us to enjoy it now, too!
Another great piece of Motorsport history right where it belongs. And a cool story to go with it.
Fantastic history!! Thank you Lee for donating this beautiful Harley!! Couldn't of been donated to a better museum. Can't wai to see it in person.
The collection continues to age nicely! So cool that people are so generous to ensure these bikes are preserved in the museum for all to see.
I kept adding Zeros to this Bike and the story was getting better and better.
How could the Museum afford this and not let it get away.
Totally hit me like Bricks when they said it a donation.
Got to love that Family and hope they all got to Ring the Bell.
Thanks!!!
Of all the motorcycle collections this family knew WTT was and is the one and only premier collection that would take this beautiful bike to the next level of presentation of this historic bike CONGRATULATIONS Matt and WTT on the latest addition 👏
What a great tribute to give that bike from HISTORY for display. Only place that can do justice to it. Every bike gets better and better. Congrates!!!!!!!!!! The pictures are what impresses me.
Can't wait to hear this one running mat
What a bike !! They did a great job in picking the right place for history. Now I have over a thousand reasons to show up at your door.
Fantastic! What a machine , and the best place for it so the world can see it , so exciting,
All the memorabilia will also have a great place to be displayed near the bike, it's really cool to see.
Thank you Matt, Dale would be proud!
That hot rod is a Beautiful piece of H D history and the Puckett family
I can see Dale's big smile still!!! Nice work to all involved, and especially the family's that help keep Dale's dream running.
Looks a lot like my yellow 1948 Panhead chopper built in 1971 in my dad's garage.
How cool is that! All the stuff that came with it was awesome, what a donation.
What a cool history piece, I’m in Central Florida and I got a great history lesson thank you for sharing and thank you to the family for letting this bike be shared…
Beautiful piece of history.
I love Matt's story telling. He laid his hands on that bike like he was blind and was able to tell us about every single part and the history of it.
I came across your channel when B&B brought down the bike you built the engine on for the first start and ride.
It is rare to see someone with so much passion and knowledge who loves to share it with anyone who has that little sparkle in the corner of their eye with a need for help with their dream!
What’s even more amazing is that your passion extends to all bikes!
I’ve loved Harley’s all my life but, my lust for speed and handling led me to rice burners!
I didn’t and still don’t care what a person rides as long as they enjoy the freedom a bike offers them!
All I ask of them is to ride safe and try a safety riding class to help stay alive!
Really enjoy your content and enthusiasm for bikes!
As always, stay safe and healthy!
Ron
Can't wait to check this bike out. Hope to see y'all soon. Planning a road trip.
To anyone viewing these Wheels thru time Videos, I say go visit this museum. We were there in 2018 and its simply a place to see Special Motorcycles. There is no place that displays history so well also. For me it was a treat we staayed at a local Motel so we could spend the day there. Thanks for such a special treat.
What incredible history
That was so amazing and the family couldn't have put that bike in a better place where everyone gets to see it and hear about the history.
Matt has done a stellar job of operating the place since passed !!!
Incredible! Thank you Matt and your staff for keeping WTT alive and relevant.
I wonder if those exhaust pipes were the inspiration for D&D/Jammer's drag pipes that they marketed in the early '70s. I always thought they were really nice looking, though I doubt they did much if anything for performance in a street machine.
Thank you to the family for donating this groundbreaking machine to the place it belongs. It will receive the care it deserves and be forever housed in the most incredible museum of motorcycling history. I can't wait to see it in person...
So awesome, lewis and bill were my uncles! My family loves motorcycles. :)
Great score. Another great asset for Wheels Through Time. Congratulations.

So much of the worlds history is hidden away in private collections or just covered up in pops shed and forgotten.
She's where she needs to be. To be seen. Appreciated and marvelled over.

My jaw hit the floor when Dale said that this amazing machine was being donated to the museum. Unbelievably unselfish thing to do.
Obrian was one my class instructor at harley school in 1975, I learned alot from him. I still have some books for race bikes i got from him.
