Seems like US Grant came within minutes of capture by Col. Mosby in the Spring of 1864 at Warrenton Jct. Virginia....this is an incredible series on Gen. Grant, great job!!!
I found the very brief comment regarding that there were so many hospitals in Memphis they specialized in treating particular wounds fascinating and most insightful. Thank you.
If you had just carried on into Memphis instead of delaying (resting) then it appears that you still would have evaded capture, but not have left the whole thing to chance. Great series BTW.
