So my brother actually lives a couple
minutes from Little Rendezvous and he gets it for dinner every Friday for his family or every time he has company like me and my mom and dad over. It does get really good every time

I grew up in Hartford and went to college in New Haven SCSU and was introduced to Pepe’s and Sally’s, etc. I have become a pizza snob it’s true but love me the Little Rendezvous!! I had the same reaction you did! How is it that I had to find out about this place from Portnoy! I am shamed that in the state I have lived for almost 55 years I didn’t know about this joint. My guess is the "greasieness" must be from olive oil. That lets you know it's the good stuff. We had a pizza place where I live that had actual Italians working there and their pizzas were always loaded with olive oil.

Dave recently visited garlic breath pizza in my neck of the woods and ruined it for me. Gave it a good review and now they're so busy thay I'll never be able to walk in for a pie for the next several months 😵💫
Little Rendezvous was CRAZY wait times BEFORE that Dave guy visitied. If you in Meriden and you like pizza, you KNOW Little Rendezvous. BEST pizza in CT outside New Haven!

We have a similar pizza place here in our small town, Newberry Fl. The college town next over is bigger and has all the chain pizza joints and a few independents but nothing comes close to Villaggio's Pizzeria! It is owned and ran by a man with the same hard work attitude as the guy here. Hard work = Great Pizza!

Being ignorant of the crazy wait time, as myself and a cousin were driving across the state, I called an hour before ETA when I was informed of a 5 hour wait time. If you are ever hungry enough go to Bethel, the real pizza capital of CT, were there are at least 15 establishments that serve pizza in a town with a population of about 20,000.
The pizza looks good, but presentation is Amazing!. Great job.
Meriden is where that pizza place is guys if you don't know.
Most people don't know this but 97% of the pizza joints in that entire region are gas/deck ovens. Nothing wrong with that but majority think every place is coal fired, they're not!
Thanks for your reviews I live in CT too. My friend and I took the plunge at The Little Rendevous and it was so disappointing. I ordered pepperoni and mushroom (we ordered in person) and left for an hours and a half (they told me 1 hour 45 minute wait) and it ended up,being 2 hours,
Hey Imdomt mind waiting for amazing pizza! My order is up and my friend and I go to grab a slice or our large pie and it’s peppers and mushroom, not pepperoni and mushroom. My friend (who is very shy usually) told me she heard me clearly say pepperoni not peppers.
Ugh. At this point we are starving and don’t want to wait 2 hours again for a pizza. So we dove in. Honestly.. It was maybe a 7 out of 10. The peppers were kinda slimy and the cheese would slide off the pizza.
Maybe I’ll go back and just get a cheese but I was very disappointed. Defintely have had much better.
I like mine pizza a little darker but this looks great and while the policies may seem strict, it's definitely looks easier to get there than in NH
